It's solidly.ok.

- Rooms are clean and bright, but extremely dated and worn.

- Shower is really comfortable, but no bathroom exhaust, so you'll be dealing with enough extra humidity to make it difficult to close the bathroom door.

- Beds are clean and big, but extremely hard, worn, and at times lumpy.

- Breakfast present and accessible, but exceptionally basic.

- Staff seemed competent, and not unfriendly, but also somewhat cold/distant.

- Quiet overnight, but if you want to sleep before the bar downstairs shuts down forget it.

If you just need a place to stay and not to have to worry about cleanliness stay here, but don't expect anything more than a minimal standard outside of that.

There do seem to be limited accommodation options in Smith's Falls, so I don't know if there are actually any better options, but the price does seem high for the minimalism. Not a bad experience, but not one I'd put on my "must do again" list either.

Only if you have too! Definitely beyond dated. Carpets in room all buckled from water damage. Door to bathroom the same. Breakfast? Awful. Not worth $144 a night. $44 maybe but even that is questionable.

We stayed here one night and it was a pretty good hotel. We checked in on time and the staff were friendly and greeted us, they have luggage carts and an elevator. The hotel itself is very weathered and you can tell that it’s 60+ years old, however it is very clean and our room was well maintained. They do have breakfast and it was standard, though some eggs or fruit would be nice. They had yogurt, muffins, bread, bagels and coffee/tea to choose from. The hotel is right by a GT and is within walking distance to many shops and places to eat. For what you end up paying it’s a nice hotel and one of the better ones in smith falls. If in this area again we will likely come here.

During my recent stay at Econolodge in Smith's Falls, I had a generally positive experience, although there were a few areas that could be improved upon. Here's a breakdown of my observations:

Facilities: The hotel is housed in an older building. The HVAC system seemed to require attention, as the temperature in the room wasn't always comfortable. While the elevator was functional, it operated at a slow pace. However, the overall cleanliness of the premises was satisfactory.

Room: Despite the minor issues, the room itself was relatively quiet, offering a peaceful atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the nice view of the canal. However, I did notice that the ceiling above the shower was in need of cleaning. The bathroom lacked proper ventilation, which made it feel stuffy at times. The toilet had issues flushing and it would have been nice to have a plunger in the room.

Amenities: The hairdryer in the room had a loud and unpleasant odor when used on the high setting. Fortunately, the low setting sufficed. On the other hand, the air conditioner worked exceptionally well, sometimes making the room too cold, requiring us to turn it off. The provided lotion, conditioner, and shampoo were of good quality, and the housekeeping staff did a commendable job in maintaining cleanliness.

Breakfast: The continental breakfast provided was average. However, there were a few areas where improvements could be made. The coffee was instant, which was disappointing. It would have been nice to have a better selection, along with some fresh fruit or more fresh items to enhance the overall breakfast experience.

Staff: The staff members were friendly throughout our stay and we had no issues.

Value: In terms of value for money, Econolodge offered a reasonable price for the stay. Despite the mentioned issues, the overall experience was decent.

In conclusion, my stay at Econolodge in Smith's Falls had its ups and downs. While the quiet room, pleasant canal view, and friendly staff were positive aspects, the aging building, maintenance issues, and limited breakfast options were areas that could be improved upon. With some attention to detail and addressing the mentioned points, Econolodge has the potential to provide an even better experience for its guests.

Would of been 5 star but balconies need to be cleaned and they won't let you smoke crack here anymore.

Stayed here for a night traveled from hometown St John Newfoundland, great place for an older style building. Checked in pretty late witnessed night staff member going above an beyond cleaning, very polite gentleman. Fast an officiant at check in no problems. Cons = balconies need a really good cleaning.
