Staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The door to our room was hard to open, staff had to help us a few times. The pull out couch bed (that we were relying on as a 3rd bed) was broken and unable to sleep on. We had to put the thin mattress on the floor to sleep which wasn't ideal or comfortable. Our room was clean and spacious. Very minimal options for continental breakfast. Thankfully there was a Tim Hortons within walking distance.

We have stayed in the Econolodge before, but never again.
My father and I booked a 2 queen bed motel room on the main floor directly with the front desk. When we arrived, my father found out that they had given our room to someone else. The front desk tried to claim we ordered the room from another service several times until I caught her in her excuses.
My father was offered a 2 king-size bed room, so he began to move our items inside, and it reeked of heavy cigarette usage, so my dad refused the room. So much for a no-smoking building.
With no elevator for the heavy items, we went up the stairs to find the 2 double bed rooms, as our next offered room was filthy. The carpet had garbage and dust balls all over the floor and even needed to be carpet cleaned. It had a broken toilet. The fridge was full of frost, so it did not work. The light stand in the room wouldn't work, which we fixed. We then found the TV needed 2 remotes to work and had to guess the channels since only a few buttons worked. My father is 190 pounds, and his bed creaked severely, so he sat on the other side of the bed, and the bed immediately broke to the floor.
My father went again to the front desk and firmly asked for a replacement room and insisted he check it before we moved into it. He found the room beside ours in the same terrible condition, and the mattress was also badly damaged.
This place has become a terrible place to stay.

I've had several rooms in this hotel, and all of them have been horrid. Cockroaches, bedbugs, fleas and lice. In ONE day.
The ceilings had odd brown staining (its a concrete ceiling), walls had smears of who knows what, under the chair seat was SO much crumbs, the plumbing was laughable, sink cracked and gross, tub rusty and smelt of urine, tv didn't even work. And for a non smoking hotel, the first thing I was greeted with when walking in was the reeking stench of cigarettes. The rooms weren't much better with the smell, and there was cigarette burns on just about everything.

The breakfast was ok. Coffee, orange juice, yogurt, BP, jam, butter, creamer, milk and sugar. But some burnt bagels don't make up for the rest of everything.

This hotel is the worst. Do yourself a solid and spend a few extra bucks and go to the comfort inn down the street. When I first arrived at the hotel and gave my name the woman working the front desk immediately told me she had no one under my name, more than once and was adamant about this. Then a few min looking into it, she realized I infact did have a room. She set me up with my room, verbally told me one room and wrote something else on my card book she handed over. I tried the first room, no luck and realized I had a different key card. Tried the actual room. Could not for the life of me get in, trekked back down their absolutely horrible narrow stair with all my stuff. Let the front desk know i was having little luck. So she said, try this card. I will watch on my camera and if you still can’t get in, i can help. She showed up to help me ON HER PERSONAL PHONE. Maintained a personal phone call while trying to assist me with entering my room. When it didn’t work she said she would get me a new room, she carried on with her personal call the entire time. She resurfaced with the new room card. Let me in and said “have a good night, sorry i was on the phone”…. When i entered my room, it had a strange smell. Like almost maple like. The toiletries were half used, there wasn’t a single garbage can in site. The beds were horrible, it was like sitting on a box spring. I almost aborted the entire night and left to find a new location to stay. The continental breakfast was less than mediocre. A couple slices of bread, no cutlery. 2 forks available. I used a fork to spread my butter on my bagel. To top it all off, as i was leaving first thing in the morning. There were 2 people doing crack on a rock outfront the hotel.

The only silver lining is that the location is great and the local restaurants are quite nice.

I will never return to this location, I have stayed at a many econo lodges and this is by far the worst i have ever encountered. 0/10 review from me.

The room was big although had a musty smell. It was in a good location, across from the burger king. Good for the price.
I only wish the towel bar was higher. I stood too quickly, and gave myself a bit of a concussion that has caused me some challenges these past weeks. Decent basic breakfast (not vegan or gluten-free, but vegetarian).

The carpet looks very old. The mattresses need to be replaced. Staff is very friendly. There is a smell in the building pro a ly because none of the rooms have windows that circulate the air.

We were in room 111 and it was absolutely amazing, had a King size bed and a large jacuzzi tub. No outside access for this room either which I was happy about. Staff were extremely kind and laid back. Great spot for driving through.

Although I do have to say that the "continental breakfast" is quite pathetic and is just a few pieces of bread essentially.

Overall is an amazing price and quality for an overnight stay.

Good customer service but the room smelled so much like cigarettes as if it was a cigarette factory and I did tell the receptionist. They were still nice ppl but I think I should've got a refund or a free night or 2 for free cuz it wasn't worth the money with that kind of condition.

It was horrible, had to body slam the door to get it to open, some rooms had sheets up as curtains, my husband and I showered with our shoes on and after being there three hours in room 135 the front desk called my husbands cell phone and asked when we would be arriving and when he said we were there in 135 he argued with him and said we weren’t there. It was horrible all the way around.

Great place to stay, Clean rooms with fresh sheets. Thank you Jody and the front desk staff who helped us plan our trip in Orillia and onward. We will definitely come back!

Room severely outdated, reeks of smoke in the room. Burn holes all over bedding. Cobwebs across the drapes. Door doesn’t open from outside, keycard reader doesn’t work. Carpets are disgusting (afraid to take my shoes off). Staff are friendly. Asked for a different but was told the one we saw that was empty was blocked due to a foul odour coming from it.

I’ve stayed in a lot of motels and this was by far the worst place I’ve ever stayed in. Can’t believe this is advertised as a hotel.

The beds have no headboards, just a mattress against the wall. The sheets all have cigarette burn marks on it. The walls at the head and side of the beds all have mystery stains on them that look suspiciously like human juices if you know what I mean.

There was a huge rotting and mouldy hole in the bathroom between the toilet and the bathtub. The whole place, including the common areas, were filthy and PS there’s no elevator. You have to lug your suitcase up a flight up stairs that had walls home to moths and lizards.

The only redeeming thing about this place is the water pressure of the shower was hot and strong and surprisingly the beds weren’t half bad in terms of back support. But cleanliness and aesthetics needs a serious overhaul

I stayed here last weekend for one night. The pictures online are nothing like what you're staying in. I stayed in rm 231 with my dog (small hypoallergenic dog). The room was run down, bathroom light didn't work, and it smelled like someone was covering something up with a boat load of vanilla. I had to check out at 1130pm, after I found bed bugs all over the wall and the bed I was laying on. The staff seemed unworried this was happening. Although I was given a refund, they did not make me feel as though it was taken seriously. I have since left a voice-mail with the orillia health unit and am waiting for a call back to discuss. This is not OK. Bed bugs can travel and cause havoc to everyone, every place, and your Holmes.
The staff at check-in was very pleasant and helpful, but they do need to get an exterminator in there. It's hard to believe the cleaners of the room would not have seen these bugs.

Do not stay here! This place is disgusting. The room REEKED of smoke and when I asked the staff about it I was told "oh, it's probably just from people smoking outside". NOPE. Outside doors on all rooms are "out of order", which is very inconvenient. Breakfast was pathetic toast and bad coffee. Both beds were sunken in and had sharp metal frame bits sticking out the sides. When mentioned to staff at checkout the guy practically yawned with disinterest. It's a 2 star hotel so that's what I'm giving it. One star because the check in staff was friendly, and another because despite the hazardous and uncomfortable beds and the strong smoke smell, the room was clean. I will not stay here again.

Awful, gross! Greeted by 8 flies in the room, bloody chair, urine stain on loveseat, carpet was disgusting! I didnt even get sleep! Not recommended for anyone. Night staff guy was rude and just didnt care! Chris was the name I was given!

The bed was large and ok.that's all that was good about the room. The whole place needs an update.

Just came home today after staying for a baseball tournament this weekend. Staff were wonderful. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The location is great, it was super close to everything we needed. That being said it's definitely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. It was as clean as they could get it but the rooms definitely don't look like the photos online. We had a 2 queen room and one bed was unusable. Some of the guestroom doors look like they've been kicked in. Our exterior door was falling apart. The water temp in the shower fluctuated from scalding hot to freezing cold. If you book here make sure you have very low expectations. Major renos are needed inside and out.

The room was absolutely disgusting. I have never been in a hotel like this one. The room smelt like cigarette smoke. I had trouble breathing for days afterwards.
Please don't stay here!

This is one of the worst hotels that we've ever gone to. Let me get started with the fact that the room, as soon as we went into it, had a weird smell. The bed was super hard. You could feel the springs. The ceiling looked like it was a wall. The heater nob was super hard to move. It was basically broken. The breakfast was terrible. Lots of people here commented that they got a banana, but we didn't even get a banana. We got literally a choice between toast or a bagel, and a coffee or a tea. A yogurt as well, not to mention the orange juice that they had was watered down. It didn't even taste like orange juice. They shouldn't even advertise they offer breakfast. You can go to tim hortons for the same thing. We were still hungry after the limited food we were offered. Now, let's talk about the shower. The shower doesn't get hot, and when it gets hot, it gets TOO hot. It burns you. Then it gets too cold. The tub felt like you were floating as my husband put it. It felt like there was water under the tub. It felt like it was moving. The front desk clerks were okay, though. The back door didn't have key access. I don't suggest going here. Do not, and I repeat do not to here, I'm not even suggesting not to go, just don't.

Stayed one night. Staff was friendly, check-in was smooth, free breakfast, clean room, reasonable priced motel, conveniently located

The service was amazing (people at front desk) but the place is outdated and falling apart. Needs a renovation. I got woken up at 5am due to a rattling pipe in the washroom that wouldn’t stop. Heater was also not working. Front desk was kind and moved me to another room where heater was working and no rattling pipes. Slept well after that.

Everything in this hotel needs to be upgraded. Poor quality everything. Everything was dirty, including the pillows, lamps, bed, bathroom. The lights in the bathroom was flickering the whole time. I wouldn't come back here.
