Lovely staff and reasonable pricing. Helped me out with a last minute eye exam and glass selection on my lunch break. Frames were selected at 4pm and completed glasses were ready for pick up at 10: 30 am the next day.

I have been a customer for many years now and they never fail to please me. As other reviewers have said, it is a family run business. They offer a great selection at reasonable prices with excellent customer service. I deal with Issac and I can't say enough good things about this young man's responsiveness to my needs. I highly recommend them!

The guy who works there (I forgot his name, but he is tall) genuinely knows about glasses. You pick up any pair, and he will give you a quick rundown of what makes that pair great, what tech is used, and what other comparable pairs you could try next. He should make a YouTube channel for reviewing glasses.

This is THE place to go for glasses! It's like going to a shop in the 50s (so I've been told) in terms of customer service. Even with covid restrictions, they manage to offer customers a personalized experience and you can tell they really take pride in their service. There was a slight complication with my insurance but they expertly sorted it out and were very clear with what I needed to do, and we still did the fitting- I appreciated the respect I was shown! Emily helped me select the PERFECT frames. There was an overwhelming selection, but after telling her what I was looking for - BOOM, the 1st pair she suggested were a home run! She knows her stuff! They are very informative but you never feel they are upselling and putting pressure on you. Forget getting a pair online, go here to get the PERFECT pair of glasses! You will not be disappointed! Dr. Lisa and Isaac are amazing! They are very thorough, patient and informative. Isaac is like a computer with his knowledge of glasses. He can tell you anything you need to know about any single pair out of the many they have available. My husband and I are really impressed with this establishment and looking forward to our new glasses!

TL;DR Excellent service. Had an issue with my prescription, and it was resolved, without hesitation, by polite and kind staff/optometrist.

Updated my glasses prescription next door. Large selection of glasses. Happy with my choice and price. Ready for pickup in a few business days. Then I started experiencing headaches and eye straining, so I went back to the store. I was anticipating a sort of awkward negotiation, but instead was met with courteous understanding. They had me set up with a repeat eye exam in minutes. The optometrist was also very patient and understanding. She had changes made to my lenses on the spot without hesitation, and I am now very happy with my glasses. Very pleased.

Excellent customer service by non-family stuff and young family members. Considering size of the store, selection is ok.
On my very first order I had great discount and service by only male in that store (sorry didn't catch the name). Subsequent times, while talking to lady owner, price was higher, glasses were not done properly, no deal, and most importantly she wanted to charge me extra for the service that was their fault and is not charged by any their competitors. She radiates with some weird vibe, unwelcoming, judging, and unfriendly. I'd be definitely back if she wasn't around.

Edit - just came back to say that I am consistently happy with continuously bringing my business here. I am, thankfully, no longer a student on (as tight of a.) budget, and as my glasses needs develop, economy optical always has something to offer. Beyond the lenses and frames, these are great people to the core.

After purchasing and returning several glasses from other stores, I found economy optical. Their prices are very fair and the service I received was unparalleled.

Isaac was incredibly knowledgeable and guided me through every step of getting both new lenses for my frames and an additional set of sunglasses.

I am a student on a budget, but I was treated as if I was purchasing top of the line glasses. There were no pushy sales tactics, they only offered what I need and I am thankful for that. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have gone to Economy Optical many times with nothing but the best experience. The staff is incredibly courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Anywhere else is 2nd to Economy Optical

I don’t recommend you this place at all, I’ve got my glasses from there, it didn’t even last few weeks and the left lens got scratched, even though I was using the protective case and the soft cloth provided with the glasses. And when I asked for lens replacement they didn’t do anything about it!
Cheap lenses quality to fool their customers, I will never come here again

Economy Optical is rare thing in the big city, it's an old school family business with a thoroughly modern and excellent set of services and products. Isaac and his family are warm, professional and always a pleasure to work with. The location is great, right across from the College subway station. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend.

I have been visiting Albert since 2002 when I first moved from Halifax. I was super nervous being in a big city and Albert and his family set me up in style. It is now 2019 and I still see Albert but this time I bring my wife, our 6 year old and my entire crew of friends. Visited store to find a set of frames for lenses I had. Store was very clean, with an excellent selection of reasonably priced frames. Service staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and had my lenses put in a pair of frames within 2 days. I am delighted I was able to visit this store, and have no hesitations returning back, or referring friends and family to them. Clearly a family owned and operated business that goes the extra mile for your business.

“Economy” is a good name for this “business”. You basically “get what you pay for” here and they seem above critique.
TERRIBLE/childish customer service (the mother and son especially - the father (Albert) is wonderful). Take you money elsewhere, as this place has petty workers and a VERY LIMITED selection of frames. Moving On!
