Never ever again.

I started working with a new client in 2014 who had been using Bob Eggett for years - I will always work with clients’ preferred accountant. Bob Eggett was wonderful and a pleasure to work with for years. New owners? I can’t even begin to detail all the problems. This is now strictly a data entry firm who does not prepare your taxes with any human discernment. Numbers are simply plugged into a tax program without using any knowledgeable carryforwards etc and often even the data is entered incorrectly. Besides the extremely shoddy attention to detail, Pal the owner is a misogynist prick.

Basim from Eggett Tax service has been extremely helpful, I have been using them for over 10 years for my taxes and now that I have some difficulty that I created, they are dealing with CRA on my behalf, which takes a lot of the stress off me. I would recommend them to anyone needing professional tax services.

I am Canadian living abroad, and have been renting out my house in Canada through a property management company. I file my income tax return in my country of residence, but found I needed to file non-resident returns for my rental income with CRA. On a visit to Canada, I was referred to Eggett Tax services, and was very pleased with their friendly informative and efficient service. Some time had passed before this, and I had three returns to do. After filing, I got a letter from CRA warning me of the consequences of filing late, and a confusing paragraph suggested that they might be withholding my refunds. I sent the letter to Eggett, and Bo spent the better part of a day, chasing down an explanation from the CRA. All was in order, and I have received my tax-refund. Great job Eggett!

I used them for about 5 years when Bob was there and I had no complaints. I was upset that we were not notified of the ownership change the next time I went in to do my taxes. I also have US taxes and had come to an agreement for them but they never completed them. I called multiple times, emailed multiple times as well as I walked in one day - nothing! Please see so many of the reviews that discuss the lack of response from the new ownership as it is true. Their service is not anywhere near as good as it was under Bob's ownership.

I have been a client along with my family, for years! Even with the recent change of ownership, Eggett Tax Services offers excellent, speedy turnaround on doing tax returns for a very reasonable price, as well as outstanding customer service as well. Thank you today to Petar for the very quick response to my request. I felt valued as a client and am always impressed with the professional care and service, as always.

Pricing for the same service is wildly inconsistent year to year. But they seem to do a good job.

I was VERY happy with the work and services done on my backlogged taxes
My partner was knowledgeable, staff was courteous and overall very pleased with the experience here.would recommend in a heart beat.

My family has filed with Bob Eggett for years and loved him. He was very savvy and explained things thoroughly, and his small business team was always great in coaching me with small business finances.

Since the new owners took over, however, it's an absolute Sh$! * show. Documents have gone missing, returns were not processed correctly, installments were not set up properly, and there was NO COMMUNICATION from the office. Like NONE. I tried calling, emailing, faxing - short of walking in to reception and demanding to speak with someone I had no idea what was going on. And they took ZERO accountability for anything.

WILL NEVER FILE WITH THEM AGAIN.

I have been coming here for years while Bob ran the place. I came this year and now trying to give the new people there the benefit of the doubt filed my taxes with them. BIG mistake!

The person who spoke to us first could barley use the system and we watched in agony as he single finger typed our info in, stopped to ask his helper every few seconds where to click. When we asked a tax question to the lady helping him (he was not going to be any help) she said she only knows taxes in Quebec and that our tax rules are not the same so she cannot answer my question.

When the actual person came to complete our taxes, he barley acknowledged us or looked up which we found very rude. We have come very accustom to Bobs warm and inviting demeanor.

We finished the return and waited a couple weeks. I checked with revenue Canada to see what was taking so long and it showed "not received"
When i called the office they said there was an issue and our e-files had not been sent yet. After a couple more weeks.i got my return and my husband did not. Finally after a couple MORE weeks. He got half the amount that he was told he was getting.

So we asked the office and they advised we needed to submit more docs to CRA. As instructed we got the forms needed filled and dropped them off to Eggette. Because of my new founded trust issues.i called a week later to see if my adjustment was sent. I have been getting the run around from them for weeks now and only today do i get a straight answer. 10 calls later!

We miss you Bob. Unfortunately we will be shopping for a new tax service for next year. For $30.00 which is much less than what was charged at Eggett.i could have bought turbo tax and screwed up my own taxes! And with a lot less headache.

I used Eggett Tax Services previous to the change in ownership in Sept 2017 for my corporate filing. Usually at every year end I meet with my accountant to discuss any changes in operation and for a general meet and greet when dropping off my financials.

The new owners did not meet with me or introduce themselves to me. It was requested that I drop off my financials only. This was done in January with my filing being due March 31st.

I made multiple attempts to contact the office regarding my filing and was never replied to until last week (June 8th). I went into the office expecting to review my return and authorize to have it filed. It was not complete.

I voiced my frustration to one of the senior staff with whom I had a meeting. She deflected responsibility to the new owners as they work in Mississauga. She tried to place blame on the previous owner as well. This was not relevant as my issue was with my current service not being done on time, the new owners' lack of rapport with their clients and inability to communicate that they were unable to meet my deadline.

She also complained that they were overwhelmed with personal tax returns and the staff had very little experience with personal filings. She could not tell me what the charges would be for filing my returns or what financial responsibility their company would take towards my late filing penalties and interest.

While I was in the office, the other staff members were searching for Mr Wash Car Wash's box of financials that had been lost. My meeting was also interrupted multiple times by the staff member's daughter who was at the office that day.

This experience was terrible, I took my file and left. I do not feel confident in their ability to prepare my return as they are 'overwhelmed' with work. I also felt that by leaving my financials with them I would be running the risk of it being lost.

I will be filing a complaint with CPA Ontario. I will also be seeking remuneration for all penalties and interest due to late filing.

Been going there as long as I have been filling taxes and always with good results.while Bob was running it to clarify. The new owners definitely won't be having return business from anyone in my family anymore. I brought in receipts for over 1000 dollars parking in the work year and he tells me I can just throw them out because nobody is eligible for that right off now. Talk to coworkers, they got back over 200 from parking. The new owners offer no accountability for screwing me.

As well, filed my wife's taxes at the same time back in February.it's now mid May and nothing has come. Call them and ask what is going on and they say they screwed something up that prevented them from being able to efile. It's almost 900 dollars we should have gotten back some time ago! My wife is expected to go back and sign papers for a THIRD time. I am usually passive and would not review a company if it's just a mediocre experience, but this was the worst 250 dollars I have had to spend when, had I submitted my taxes through turbo tax we would have got the exact same return.

Oh but no worries, they offer 50 dollars off of next year.

Taxes aren't always as complicated as people think. Just run turbo tax rather than letting this place rip you off and provide a terrible customer experience.

New owners = Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life, by far. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! I have waited 6 weeks now for Pal to complete my US taxes, and after leaving him 12 messages with receptionists to give me an update, he finally called back saying he had ‘bigger’ clients to serve that has been taking up his time. I have been a client for 3 years and now with new owners, they are driving this place to the ground. I am so speechless at the lack of professionalism and customer service. 0 stars without a doubt
