Omg I love everything about this place. The food, the environment, the music, the waiters. The mezza is AMAZING and I swear I hate store bought tabouli/fatoush or restaurant tabouli/fatoush but I always go back for their dishes. It's very expensive when there's an event (around 90$ per person) but it's worth it. Invite your friends over

We had our wedding at El Mazaj and we had an amazing time, all of our guest reached out after to tells us how much they enjoyed the party. The food was amazing! John and his staff were great, he helped us plan the whole thing and put together a great crew. Always a fun time at El Mazaj.

All the food here is absolutely delicious! They have had a set menu the few times I’ve been but it comes with an amazing selection. The live music on Saturday nights is really fun. Some of the best labneh I’ve had in Ottawa.

I must give a special mention to our server, Sousou, who made our evening even more memorable. Her kindness and warmth made us feel like valued guests, and she was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu and suggesting dishes that perfectly aligned with our preferences.

Overall, I cannot recommend this Lebanese restaurant enough. The combination of impeccable food, thoughtful accommodation for vegetarians, and exceptional service provided by Sousou and the entire staff made for an unforgettable dining experience. This is an amazing restaurant on all levels! The owner and staff welcome you with warmth and graciousness. Soon after you are seated and have ordered your drinks, a feast of delicious mezza is presented. Fresh, tasty and appetizing to the eye and to the taste buds. Not to mention the generous amount of your favourite plates offered and replenished at your simple request.

The food is authentic traditional Lebanese. It felt like I was at my grandparents’ home for Christmas or Easter. What a treat coming from Toronto and Waterloo to enjoy such a meal made with care and attention.

El Mazaj is true to its name and offers a pleasurable experience and takes you back to the beautiful, hospitable, friendly and welcoming Lebanon.

I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant and I thank the owner, the chefs and the most agreeable staff, especially Sousou, for bringing back warm and loving memories of my past.

I had my baby shower here at El Mazaj on October 23rd and everything couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Jean is extremely accommodating and dealing with him from the beginning was always very smooth. Always responsive to texts or phone calls, his team is also amazing - shoutout to Susu, amazing service and she helped me out with the decor as well. Food was amazing, 0 complaints. A friend and I ate here last Friday. Such a welcoming and friendly staff. The BEST babaganoush (sp?) I have ever eaten. Everything’s was fresh, tasty and cooked or made perfectly. Delicious meza for small and large groups.

We came to celebrate a baptism and the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating (even with our one year old son who's a busy body). The food was amazing and I highly recommend it if you're in the mood for some quality Lebanese food.

I came for a wedding reception. The place was great. Only thing I don't like is the cushions on the chairs come off super easily and if you're not paying attention you can easily hurt yourself. The food was excellent, so many things were brought out to the table. Music was great and the party atmosphere was amazing as well.

Wonderful! First the food… we enjoyed a wide selection of traditional Lebanese foods from hummus, baba ganoush, grape leaves, tzatziki, to tender and delicious chicken, beef… salads… it was all amazing!

Went for a friend's birthday last night, the BEST food and amazing music, a great night all around!

My husband and I held our wedding reception at El Mazaj. The staff and venue were absolutely amazing. My guests could not stop talking about how delicious the mezza was and how wonderful their servers were. Not to mention, the DJ the restaurant brought in was fantastic and great to work with when planning the music and timeline of events.

The venue staff were incredibly amiable during our meetings and correspondence regarding organizing the reception and were as flexible as possible when it came to setting up the décor.

What's more, the staff noticed my husband and I did not have as much time to eat along the evening due to the festivities and pre-emptively set aside takeout boxes of food for us to take home in case were were hungry at the end of the night.

I would highly recommend this venue for any special occasion!

I had dinner with friends at Elmazaj last night.
The food is authentic and of high quality and the staff are supper friendly and helpful. The owner was out taking care of the customers and making sure they are happy. The band created a lively atmosohere and made the evening super "dancey".

I gave it 5 stars because of all the above but I have one critique. The music was way too loud and made it impossible to socialize. Maybe the management can consider lowering the volum a bit (a lot really) because I am still hearing whisteling in my ears. That will make me go there more often for sure.

This past Sunday, we had our son's Baptism reception at El Mazaj and let me tell you that all of our guests had a blast! Oh my God! The food is so good here! So good, that I gained 4 pounds. Luckily, I lost it the next day. We were here for a special occasion and we were treated with professionalism and respect. We will come back!

Never ever in my whole life.
You pay $62 per person to get a bunch of salad and a square plate of BBQ (3 kefta, 3 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of meat -the “cube” piece-). The service awful, no professionalism at all! $62 for salad and some Kebba! Actually you will pay for the band that has the worse sound system ever!
If I could, I would give 0 start
Go there if you want to get screwed and waste your quality time!

I had my wedding here Aug 2,2019 and my God, did it ever exceed my expectations. I've been working with the owner, Jean, since last year and he has made everything so incredibly easy and stress free. He was so accommodating to every request I had and he helped me organize everything and was great in pointing things out I otherwise would have missed. The food was phenomenal - my guests could not stop raving about the venue and food. The staff all night was so attentive and wonderful. I honestly cannot say enough great things about El Mazaj, the owner, staff, food, etc. Will absolutely be using this venue for all future parties/special occasions. BEST FOOD EVER, workers are very nice definitely deserved that tip, had so much fun and had to take extra food home because I didn’t want to stop eating the delicious food. Coming back again for sure!

A large variety of Lebanese food. You can ask for as much as you want from your favourite dish. The service is friendly. The food is really tasty. You can choose what night of the week you want to enjoy it depends on your taste of music between the life singer or a DJ.
Every Saturday a different program. If you like Arabic music it’s the place to be.
