Amazing experience, authentic and delicious! I can see why it’s fully booked most evenings. Highly recommend.

Food was great, however, we ordered 2 drinks, received one, never brought the second one even after asking and it took over 20 minutes before anyone came over to take our order.

Located in a quite neighborhood off of Bathurst, but the place was bustling with diners. Cocktails were great and the food was fresh, but recommend getting more portions, especially the tacos

Amazing. I love Mexican/Latin food. I eat it often and can be very critical of it when I am disappointed. This is the best I’ve ever had.

What a gem of a spot! I really enjoyed the warn tortilla chips! The food was great and the lime margaritas were delicious! I definitely recommend having some churros for dessert! Highly recommended!

Food is delicious. It is such a wonderful feeling as someone with Celiac to visit a restaurant that is gluten free, and not have a fear of cross contamination. Service is also great.

Highly recommend! Super tasty food & Friendly staff. Honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Avocado tostada is a fav. Ceviche is tasty (mainly shrimp). You can order online and over the phone for pick up. But dining in is super good too.

Super good. Carnitas were excellent and perfectly seasoned. Horchata was on point and not too thin. Gluten free churros were very yummy as well. I would recommend this place.

Best vegetarian tacos in Toronto! The salsa is so flavourful- definitely get salsa and chips. I’ve been here several times now and it always a great experience.

My second visit to this fabulous hidden gem and again i was blown away. BEST FISH TACOS IN TORONTO! Not a joke… the two fish tacos that come in an order are HUGE and filling enough as a meal on their own… throw in some ceviche to start… a couple of cocktails and the night was a perfect success. Bar manager Olivia was super kind and the rest of the staff were as well.very profession service and very tasty food. So easy to skip dessert after splurging on great food and drinks but the churros were so good, the hot cocoa sauce served with them… *chef’s kiss* so worth it and perfectly sharable like everything else on the menu.

Specifically chosen because my dining guest has Celiac, so the COMPLETELY GF menu was amazing. We sat outside on their heated patio that was so warm we found ourselves ordering more drinks to cool off. Fried chicken bites, tostadas, ceviche, and a few good veg options too. A great selection as well of mocktails. The portions were so good and Mexican Hot Chocolate and Churros were the perfect way to finish dinner. We were completely stuffed when we left with 4 tacos a piece, two apps, and dessert. Highly recommend!

I'd be lying if I said that El Pocho wasn't my favourite Mexican restaurant in Toronto. Although slightly out of the city, El Pocho is well worth the trek as they have an extensive menu that has a little bit of everything for everyone. I've taken countless friends and business partners here and each leave with a smile on their face and have since become recurring patrons too. If you're looking for a good place, this is the one, folks. With a great lunch menu, dinner menu, and brunch menu, this place caters to your cravings at any time you may have them. Will see you soon, El Pocho.

I’ve been to El Pocho a number of times and each visit has been wonderful. The atmosphere, food and staff are all consistently fantastic.

First time eating here. Delicious authentic Mexican food. The service was excellent and fellow diners were friendly and ready with menu suggestions. Charming patio lunch spot that's probably great for dinner too. I highly recommend it.

Great food and service. Our first visit to El Pocho Antojito and it won't be our last.
We were seated immediately and within minutes our friendly server Charlie appeared. He made suggestions for both our cocktails and meal.
The mezcal old fashioned along with fresh hot nachos and ceviche was a great way to start our meal.
We enjoyed the fish, pork and chicken tacos. Hard to pick a favourite as they were all excellent.

I want to love this place because It’s local and the food is great and it has a nice patio but the service is just awful. I’ve been here numerous times and every time it’s the same. I feel like a burden on the servers by just being here. To get someone’s attention just to take your order is next to impossible. Last time I was here I had to ask for napkins three times and in the end just went inside to get them myself. I’m not sure if they are paid horribly or overworked or what but I expect a lot more from a restaurant with these prices and quality of food. I’m not even picky and honestly not a complainer, I just like to be treated like a human being and not a burden when I go out to eat. It’s too bad because I was a regular and have hives you brought a ton of clients and friends here but I think that time is over. It’s just embarrassing at this point.

My fiance is Celiac, and being able to enjoy everything on a menu from Tacos to Churros without compromising quality makes this spot a #1 for us. Highly reccomend for its hidden gem atmosphere and patio.

We always end up here because it's a sure bet we will get gluten free fish tacos and other tasty goodies. We even tried checking out a couple other taco restaurants that were on route to El Pocho from where we were today because we were super hungry and just over 30 minutes away and both places were a bust. One place even had a sign outside that gluten free tacos and lots of gluten free options but alas the one thing my wife was craving, the fish tacos, were pre-breaded in non gluten free breading at both places! Probably wasted more time and gas seeking out other options along the way than going straight to the sure bet. We did so because we knew they were really busy and weren't sure if we would be able to get a table, but we headed there regardless and crossed our fingers. Although they were busy and we were a walk-in, the staff were super accommodating and after a short 10-15 minute wait we got a table. I would have waited longer at that point if need be because the food is that good! Fresh ingredients, made from scratch, super tangy and tasty, El Pocho hits the mark everytime with us. I even overheard our waiter tell another couple that he's been serving there for 3 years and he never tires of the food. It's that good and I highly recommend El Pocho to anyone looking for great tacos and and super safe, gluten free options that will keep you coming back for more!

This restaurant is part of the OpenTable network but did not accept OpenTable rewards, a complete violation of OpenTable’s rules. Completely inappropriate - I hope OpenTable considers dropping this restaurant from their network as they simply cannot agree to take reservations via OpenTable and refuse to accommodate patrons who participate in the rewards program. Also - the rewards program can be accepted by the restaurant as it is simply treated as a travellers cheque, issued by a Canadian financial institution. It does not require a “special arrangement” as the waitress tried to tell me.

It is my favourite restaurant in the neighbourhood. I love their Tacos de Pescado; that is the one with battered fish. Today, the 13th of April, is my birthday. After our dinner, we got a surprising dessert, I thought it was the restaurant’s treat, but it was sent from the table that was next to us. I couldn’t even thank them because they had already left. If you read here somehow, know that you made me so happy and thank you so much!:)

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and time here! But:
- The portion was very small and the food was pricey! Two tiny tacos is 12 CAD and it’s barely enough to fill you!
- The food was spicy and the waiter didn’t inform us, so be careful if you are allergic to spicy food!
- The patio was kinda cold! They have heater, but it was on and off!

The portion of the food was so small (2 tacos) and the price was more than other restaurants.
There was no such thing as service, as when I asked the server what do you suggest, he answered have you even read the menu?
When I wanted to pay, on the POS, options for tip started from 18%!

We were super excited with this place as we heard the tacos were wonderful. As our server came by, we were told that it was only the brunch menu available. I wish they put that somewhere on the menu to let people know.

Unfortunately the brunch selection, did not live up to the taco’s reputation. We were fairly disappointed! Service was a little slow (took about 30-40 mins to get our food), but we did not mind. The chicken tinga was on the mediocre side - Pico de Gallo was not great but the tortilla chip were amazing. As for the carne asada, it was decent and would definitely recommend over the chicken tinga.

Regardless, I’d give this place another shot for the dinner time. I really want to try their tacos so hopefully that won’t be disappointing

One more restaurant added to our Mexican favourites list. The heated patio was very warm and cozy. The ceviché and tacos were delicious. My friends tried the El Hibisco and they had good things to say about the drink. We had churros and brulee for dessert - loved those too.

Best tacos in the city. I have been coming here consistently for over a year. They are constantly experimenting with ingredients to devise the best tasting dishes. The service has always been amazing even when they are super busy. Highly recommend this place!

Exceptional food (super fresh and flavourful). Service was attentive and fast, but impolite. I understand the service industry isn't easy (and customers can be the worst) so it's possible our server was simply having a bad day.

I just had some of the best tacos of my life! The food comes a bit spicy but hot-dang the flavour train makes a stop here! You would be a fool to not try this place out!

My partner and I split the ceviche and had tacos. Ceviche was very good, super flavourful with fresh warm tortilla on the side. The tacos were big and filling

Delicious tacos and lots of patio seating. They had a lot of great safety protocols for Covid. Nice barriers between tables.

They are fish tacos were delicious but the carnitas were a bit greasy. Guacamole and salsas are delicious with a variety of spice levels. Good margarita pitchers. The churros were a great way to end the night!

They switched to online booking only, won’t answer the phone and there is a $50 no-show fee. I disapprove these practices, and there are enough restaurants in Toronto to find alternatives.

Be warned it is popular with young people who are happy to pose with masks for instagram but have little regard for other people.

Great little taco joint off the beaten path. Tasty margaritas with great apps and tacos. I love the pocho fries and pretty much any combination of their tacos!

Lovely little patio/restaurant. Have only done takeout so far. They are friendly and quick. Their chicken tacos are delicious.

Got takeout of tacos and ceviche. Everything was delicious and fresh, even in takeout form. Appreciated the use of paper packaging instead of styrofoam. Food was ready on time and well packed! Will definitely return, especially for onsite dining!

The entire menu is GF! Bonus. It doesn't affect me but the food is great nonetheless.

I tried El Pacho the other night while craving tacos, and they did not disappoint! I appreciated the sustainable packaging, especially because tacos are difficult to transport without damage. I tried the fish and chicken tacos and loved both. For dessert, I got the churros with both sauces (dulce de leche and raspberry coulis) and the raspberry coulis is literally one of the best things I have ever tasted. Just delicious! The staff were friendly as well. I will definitely go back!

Excellent food and service. If you are tiered of eating mexican from chains, this is the place to go for. We are vegetarians and went here during their Brunch time. They accommodate our request of no meat and no eggs with substituting Tofu. Tacos turned out to be delicious.

The food was surpringly underwhelming compared to alternatives in Toronto (compechano Mexico for example or la carnita).

Wouldn't go back for the food, but good place for drinks and the vibe.

Great Mexican food, amazing flavours. The restaurant is quite small, with seating for only about 20-25ppl (so call ahead and make a reservation if you have a larger group) ; they do have a decent sized patio (which would effectively double the capacity, during the warmer months). On Sundays (at least), they only have their brunch menu until 3pm. As the first line states the food was amazing, all the flavours were very well balanced, with nothing overpowering over another. All the ingredients seem very fresh, Infact you can see the chef cooking. Personally I like a lot of heat in my food and they do have a house special hour sauce, which you can ask for. The portions are decent sized; 4 people ordering one dish each with an appetizer will leave satisfied. However the restaurant is not cheap, a meal, for a couple, with an appetizer and one drink, will be somewhere in the $80-90 range. Definitely would recommend a visit for some great Mex food.

I really appreciated the fact that all the food in this place is totally gluten-free (and also vegetarian-friendly). Loved the Mexican-style flavours. And for the first time I was able to taste gluten-free churros! Delicious.

This place is a gem! Small little spot that is cozy with great vibes. The patio looks so pretty and the interior is very nice. I had three different types of tacos and nachos and they were top notch! I would highly recommend the fish tacos. Top of the list of fish tacos for me. I would also come back for the loaded nachos. The server was also very nice. Great experience!

I thought I was going to a cute little taco place, but this is so much more. El Pocho is a delightful spot for Mexican style tapas (including tacos, yes), but they also offer bites like elote (charred corn on the cob with a sauce I could swim in, it was so delicious). The service is fast casual, but that doesn’t mean your experience is rushed - the pacing is actually just right between courses. Oh, and did I mention everything is gluten free? The tacos and tortas are fresh and delicious. And you MUST try the churros - YES, they are gluten free too! I would go back and try everything on the menu. Affordable, delicious, and the staff is lovely. Check it out for yourself.

The most amazing food I had in a very long time. They custom your food is you have any allergies. It is a place that everyone should visit.

Great spot! Everything is gluten free. The kitchen is small so they bring everything out as it's ready. All the food was amazing and the patio made for a nice spot in the summer. Only place to get gluten free churros in the city!

Cozy casual dining inside with a light patio option for those nice weather days. A friendly greeting followed by prompt service. The the chef and kitchen staff exceeding expectations by providing awesome yummy food with a targeted balence of flavour and texture. A perfect spot for a date night or small group outting, the drinks top of the experience with a few top-notch tequila varieties for a genuine dining experience.

Cute patio away from the busier restaurant clusters in the Annex. The food is delicious, the tortillas are fresh and not dry, choose any of their options and you won't be disappointed. My favourite dish from the menu was the tostada de pollo, paired with an ice cold michelada on a hot summer day and you won't be complaining.

I have eaten here several times. Very tasty food. I am not really a cocktail guy but I have had some here and they were delicious - not too sweet - I recommend the Paloma. Good sangria.

The barbacoa and fries is the best mexican version of steak and frites I have ever tried. Beat this Tex-mex. Vegetarians don’t hesitate just do it.

We were a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews but this place was fabulous. All of the food is gluten free and absolutely delicious. It is small so calling ahead to make a reservation will help. The waiter told us right from the get-go that it’s a small restaurant with a small kitchen so food will come out as they make it which we were completely fine with. The wait was not long at all. The gf churros were mouth watering good. The only knock on the place were the bathrooms. Other than that I would go back here in a heartbeat and highly recommend it for fresh food. Also, my husband has dark brown skin and I have light brown skin and we felt zero racial profiling (for those of you who are worried after reading the reviews like I was).

My friend and I got horrible service while we were there. The hosts were not welcoming and could not keep eye contact even when I was asking questions. I’m wondering if this was racial profiling and I know it’s brash to make such assumptions. We ordered food that would probably take 15-20 min to make, but we waited over 40 min. As we got our food, two white couples got their food in less than 15 minutes even though they came way after us. I’m not sure how to process what I just experienced but if this Mexican place is owned by Caucasians, it needs to be shut down or the owners need to treat their POC customers with more respect.

I’m actually really sad about this whole experience and wanted to cry after.

I never leave reviews but I went to this place twice. First time was good. Second time we waited 15 minutes to get our menus, my tacos we’re stuck to the paper so when I picked them up the tortilla ripped and fell apart, and my boyfriend found a piece of plastic in his taco because it poked the inside of his mouth.he gave to the waiter and the waiter didn’t say sorry just said he’ll go find out what happened. Then the waiter came back out and ignored us, twice. Then we finally asked him over to our table and he was like
Oh they said it must have been plastic from the container of lettuce.his taco didn’t even come with Lettuce.

After all this my boyfriend was still charged for the food and was told that no one put the plastic in there on purpose.

Yes we know it wasn’t on purpose but that doesn’t change the fact it was in there.

Keep in mind when we brought all this up to the waiter we were really kind and spoke quietly.

We complained (which we hate doing because we both have anxiety) then they removed the tacos from my boyfriend’s bill. We felt bad because we know it’s the kitchens fault not the waiter but the fact he didn’t say sorry, the fact I came into the restaurant, was told to sit outside and then made to wait for 15-20 minutes for a menu only to be told “sorry You sat in the one place I can’t see you”.

Everyone around us seemed to get their food first even though they came later.

I saw a review here about racial profiling and now I’m starting to think that it is something that happens here. That and when I went the first time the staff was different.

This time I was with my boyfriend and we POC.and first time I was at a table With 5 of white friends.

I dunno, racial profiling or not, to have a foreign object in someone’s food and not apologize on behalf of the kitchen, and IGNORE us after we bring it to your attention, and then tell us it wasn’t on purpose, after making us wait 20 minutes to get a menu and telling us it’s because you didn’t see us even after you knew we went outside to sit

We were so gentle with our complaints and soft spoken so that the restaurant didn’t hear. We didn’t deserve to be ignored or to have someone say it wasn’t on purpose as if we were yelling and causing a scene.

We left feeling like we did something wrong when we didn’t. And I felt really sad because I really wanted to bring my bf to this place after the first time I went.

We arrived late in the night at around 10: 30 pm, half an hour before they close. But lovely staff didn’t make any issue. We ordered fish tacos, beef tacos and churros. I personally liked beef tacos more than fish. Everything was fresh, tasty and portions were huge. Love this place!
