Brought in a homemade Frankenstein guitar I got off of Facebook marketplace that wasn’t working! I brought it in and they quickly confirmed it wasn’t really worth it to do a complete repair but the staff here are so lovely and explained the whole issue to me (idk anything about electrics) and fixed up the guitar so it was at least capable of me messing around on it for free! Thank you so much you guys are really lovely and I’ll be back here when I eventually get a real playable electric and inevitably break it.:)

Zak the owner/tech is awesome. He seems like a really nice person and is very responsive and accurate with his time estimates for jobs. So far he has done a full refret and setup on my 2000 American fender fat strat, and the same on my (new) 1960’s les Paul. Gibson sent it out of the shop with frets filed down to nothing so I had to install some with a little more meat on them. He did a great job on both guitars and was just a really accommodating dude. I have about 8 guitars from years of collecting and they all need tweaks over time and so far I’m happy with the work and will continue to keep handing over my guitars as needed. At this point from my experience I think it would be pretty hard to find a better person/tech to give your expensive/cherished gear to.

Really pleased with the work that Zak did on my '66 Jaguar. I'll be bringing more of my vintage guitar collection to him in the future.

I've had a lot of work over the years done by Zak at Electric Standard. Many setups to acoustic and electric. He also has done a refretting of a Les Paul for me. My only critique is that payments are cash only. I would love to pay electronically. But as far as the work goes no complaints from me.

Zak does excellent work, has great rates and has always worked quickly. Great to chat with as well. I highly recommend Zak for all electric and acoustic guitar setups!

Brought my 60's vintage Gibson acoustic into Zak after two different shops in Toronto could not quite get the problem right. Lots of choking, buzzing, did not feel right at all. Living in Toronto with harsh winter months, Zak suggested I get a humidifier for my guitar room. Especially with acoustics, wood can move and change so easily. After leaving my guitar for a week with Zak, the acoustic is so much brighter, open, with lots of clarity that I never had before. Plus Zak is a super cool dude and very responsive. Definitely my go to guitar tech from now one. On a side note, Tim that does amp repair there is the best amp tech as well. Vintage Marshall was totally shot, was able to get it up and running. It now sounds incredible. Super cool guy as well. For everything guitar and amps, give these guys a call.

I always leave this place happy and ready to melt faces.

The absolute best in T. O. Have had Basses, guitars, and amps modified, setup and repaired going all the way back to Songbird days (yup I'm olde). Great rates, super friendly and knowledgeable.

There has not been a problem I have had with my gear these fellas have not been able to solve. Professional, timely, and worth every $. If you care about your gear, these guys are definitely an option.

Great service, they diagnosed and fixed an annoying and obscure amp problem I was having. Set the bias etc. All within their time estimate: and for a good price. I will definately go back in the future for anything else.

I can't say enough good things about the level of workmanship and experience Tim and Zak both have. I have brought in several vintage and newer guitars and amplifiers to Superfuzz/Electric Standard over the years and they come back playing and sounding better than I imagined. Repair costs are fair and they've never tried to up-sell me on any parts or accessories that I didn't absolutely need. The shop may appear a bit disorganized with amps and gear stacked up high, but that's because so many musician's trust them with their equipment for repair:) Highly recommend them both!

Tim was great. He looked at my amp the same day I brought it in, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Great service and place.

Excellent place to take your guitar/amp for repairs and set. Takes good care to make sure everything is in working order and is also fairly priced.

I will admit, I was a bit on the fence about this place as they took a little while to fix my Fender Prosonic amp, but then I realized that they’re flooded with amp/pedal repairs. It is a very busy little shop!

When I got my amp back, however, it has never sounded better! The Fender Prosonic amp is a tricky amp to fix and Tim did a wonderful job. I’m extremely happy with his honesty and the affordability of the repair itself. If any of my amps happen to break down again, I will definitely be a return customer.

Please remember to be patient as there aren’t many places in the GTA that offer the same service. Allow them to take their time and you’ll be more than satisfied with the results.

Unhelpful. Tardy. Disorganized. Disorganized x2. Super pretentious hipster attitude - snobby barriers when dealing with customers.
