Elgin Mills Community Environmental Centre

I am lucky to live beside this location. It's usually clean and well ran. Everyone was helpful and the line kept on moving. I had a little bit of garbage not even a bag full, because it wasn't confisdered recycling. It was actually plastic wrapping and they asked me for $10 to throw it out. So if you are throwing out cardboard which is free of charge, make sure you are coming with cardboard only.

Matthew is very helpful. He even helped to unload cardboard and help other customers with smiling face

The staff is very rude. When I drove to an area that different from where I wanted to go. One staff yelled at me!

1st time to visit, the location is convenient. Easy access but they may need another exit for others who dropped off other things.

Contrary to a posting from Canada Day Long Weekend I arrived at Labour Day Long Weekend and everything is running so smoothly. Well organized recycling depot, friendly staff. They guided me first to hazardous waste where I unloaded paint cans to a friendly worker. From there you have to pass the different recycling stations like electronics, metal etc.
Within 10 minutes I had unloaded my recycling items and left. Thanks for making it so easy.

Right side has 9 stations with least amount of usage and always empty. Left side where majority of contractors dump construction garbage barely has 2 open stations. Huge line up of trucks that usually last for hours. This does not make any sense. What a waste of space. Garbage design.

Extremely Rude staff, did not help me at all with my simple questions and I feel very disrespected.

I dropped off batteries and electronics. All was smooth. Staff are friendly. However, as an Environmental Centre, to make cars line up idling is a bit baffling. Please can we enhance this to be a parking lot, shopping carts, and pedestrian friendly place to fit most of the customers who dispose little things trying to help? Thanks.

Very clean with directions and controlled. The line is very long though as lots people were using the service.

Great service every time I visit. Easy to navigate within the facility to unload what you need and staff always willing to help.

Not taking styrofoam any more, all the effort to separate, hoping to dispose/recycle/reuse end up to the dump site, AND they charge you to do it there too!

It is one of the Best place where you can go to throw your Garbage with peace of mind whether it be Garbage, small appliances or Cardboard. All the staff from the office to the dumping area are just Great and very friendly. They are ready to help and guide you where to dump your stuff

Previously there was a lot more items this location was accepting for free, like drywall, wood, etc. Then it was outsourced to a private company to manage and these items are no longer accepted for free. The prices per ton are much higher than in other locations, e.g. There are places in GTA that charge less than $90 per ton as of today.

This facility needs some improvement. Staff need to be more helpful and polite (especially the lady at the entrance kiosk).

I go here regularly and the staff are all very helpful and pleasant! The site is clean and organized. Much better to take my recycling here than to use the stinky, dirty recycling room in my building. Well worth the drive.

Excellent location. Well organized. Lots of employees to guide through the process and help with proper disposal/recycling. Fast service even on the weekend.

Staff were curt and condescending. Gave attitude when asked simple questions. Just a bad overall experience. Too bad because the facility itself is good.

This facility is very easy to navigate & the staff is very friendly and personable! The guys are always willing to answer any questions and the people in the drive thru section where they weigh your vehicle are always so sweet! Great customer service all around.

Always a pleasure to come here. Staff are friendly, place is clean and organized. We're there a month ago to throw out some card boards and blue box item. My elderly mom got off the car and tried to help me out. The staff saw her, immediately offered to take over and even asked her to go back in the car. (my mom doesn't speak English so she was confused and thought she did something wrong. Lol) It's nothing, just a few boxes, but the kind gesture is admirable. What a kind heart.

Currently not recycling lumber. I was directed to them by another recycling center to get rid of old lumber. I asked at the front station if they were able to recycle old wood and was told yes if I paid. Waited in the line and was directed to the waste area. I was then told that COVID had impaired their ability to recycle most waste. The old shop scraps I had been saving this year ended up getting tossed into the garbage and I was still charged for waste that I could have taken home and just put in a trash bag (only $10 so not the issue). Please avoid if you are trying to recycle old wood.

Very clean location, usually no line or a short wait. Friendly staff give clear instructions. Usually close on Tue and Wed.

Bad experience. Staff doesn't care what you have. Everything goes into waste bin. Why do I have to drive all the way to put a piece of styrofoam into the waste bin and pay them $10?

Great, clean and friendly facility. I go there often and I love the fact that it is in open space.

The staff are so nice and friendly, specifically Robert and Roxanna as well as the other staff at the dumping area, great manners and service. During this situation, everyone's really down and going through a tough time, but these two gave us really positive vibes and excellent service. We always appreciated great service which is rare these days, so I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to them. Amazing service! They provided great advice and were very pleasant and smiley, which was really important for customers. I have used them more than 4 times and every time is better. Keep up the good job and thank you for spreading positivity Robert and Roxanna!
