I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Elm Law. Christina, the receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. Lidia, my lawyer, did an amazing job in helping me prepare the documents for Guardianship. She was very kind, friendly and worked hard to get my victorious result. Hired Brittany Blainey as my lawyer for asset split between me and my ex. I would not recommend her. During the day of mediation she was on her phone half of the time. I could not tell if she really cared about my case or just wanted her pay and the work to end. Mediation ended around 4pm unsuccessfully. Then as we are walking to the Go train she tells me this joke.

"My husband is a realtor and we have this joke we tell. When he works with divorced clients he takes the wife to look at new houses to buy and he takes the husband to look at basement apartments to rent"

I understand having a laugh however considering my circumstances I did not find this funny. When I asked Brittany why she would tell that joke she denied it and then quit. No apology, Zero accountability!

I then found out later in further dealings with the mediator that she requested the mediation day be cut short because she had to pick up her kid. I had no idea that the mediation could have gone on longer that day. I paid for a full day of mediation. Then I get a bill for $1600 that they send to collections on me.

What a disgusting experience. Do not work with these people especially if you are a man looking for a lawyer who cares about your situation.

I have worked with Brittany for 4 years now and I have been so impressed with her honesty, professionalism and her willingness to go above and beyond to help ensure the well being of my family. As a father navigating the family court system it can feel like things are stacked against you, and Brittany has been an advocate I'm so grateful to have in my corner.
The issues with my ex have been ongoing and difficult and Brittany patiently works through each issue, cautiously weighing out an appropriate course of action that is mindful of the law, the best interest of the children involved and supportive of my role as a father. She helped me regain 50/50 custody of my kids which I was having to fight to achieve.
When there was an emergency order issued by the court and I was dealing with the police until well past midnight, she was available by phone until the issue was settled and then went into the office on a Saturday morning to ensure it was taken care of, and this has been consistently the kind of attentive support Brittany provides.
I can't recommend her and the services of Elm Law enough. I previously also was represented by Melissa Berardi in this office and found her approach to these family law issues similarly supportive and helpful. If you are a father trying to ensure you can navigate the court system as confidently as possible, I highly recommend this firm.

The staff at Elm Law were very helpful and explained everything in full detail with no surprises. Very quick feedback on any questions that needed to be answered, either by phone or email. I would highly recommend them for anyone to use in the future especially for Estate Situations.

Stay away from this law firm. They take more money from you than the work they put in. Therefore, they steal from you and treat you as though you are their personal bank machine.

They are a great place to go with very knowledgeable staff that are like the Macy's Santa Claus who if they can't help you with your matters they will direct you to someone else who will which is great because most law offices care about themselves and the money not you. But these guys at Elm Law give you first choice and a class service and are very good Lawyers
