Great beer and fries the beer mac and cheese is the only entrée ive ever tried there ita so good they also had super amazing live music and they had high chairs and a kids menu which was a plus
We still remember our last visit to Elora Brewing Company. We were a party of six and we waited for about 35 minutes to get a table.
During that time, we stayed at the bar sampling their craft beers. Overall, they were very tasty but, the unanimous favorite was the "Borealis".
Once we got our table, everything that we ate was quite delicious and the portions were satisfying. The service was very friendly and diligent from the entrance, to the bar, to the table. The atmosphere was nice, very spacious and bright.
The atmosphere at this restaurant was pleasant. Their customer service was great. I had a Vegetarian Sandwich with mashed potatoes on the side; their mashed potatoes was the best I have ever had. They also had live music, which enhanced my experience.
Nice street front patio. Friendly but slow service. Stopped in for a cold beer after wandering through town. Beer leaves a lot to be desired. Three fields triple grain lager was not easy to drink - didn’t enjoy it. Kerplunk mango wheat beer was also disappointing. I expected a sweet, fruity summer beer but this tasted sour and bitter.
Great menu of drinks and food! I had the Beer Mac n Cheese and it was amazing. My only complaint is that it was hot and humid inside when we came on a hot, rainy day.
Ate on the patio for supper with friends and enjoyed ourselves. I ordered the monster burger which was tasty, but seemed a little steep for $24. The fries were ok and lacked sufficient seasoning, but the burger juices added some flavor. The water we were served at the beginning wasn’t great - it tasted very soft, like bad well water. That may just be what the tap water in Elora tastes like, though.
I'm updating my review. Previously it was 5 star, because the staff is great, beer selection is even better, and burgers are good. I'd rather give a 3.5. We tried the mains, and it was horrible. The brisket was tough and served cold, definitely not cooked correctly, and the same would go for the lamb ribs, of which was 90% fat and inedible. Additionally, I must have got the end of the bag of fries, as it was small pieces and ends.but so did everyone else at the table.
The selection of beer was even greater than they had online. Elora borealis is one of my go-to beers from this brewery - fairly bitter IPA even though fruitier IPAs seem to be "in style" right now. I haven't tried everything yet but everything I've tried I've liked so far. I am also excited about their 2.7% IPA - great for a quick beverage, but still full of flavour. Staff was also exceptionally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of their selection.
Very dissapointed with service. Had to send my food back as the taste was not something I could stomach (overcooked, minimal protein, fish taste, over breaded). Only took 3.80$ off my bill when there was still 3/4 left of a 19$ chicken sandwhich. So ended up paying 15$ for a side of fries. It is a very overpriced restaurant for the over all quality of food you get served.
Fantastic brewery in Elora, stopped here for a swift couple of pints. Staff knowledgeable of the produce. Loved that walking into the bar area you could smell all the incredible smells of the beer making process. Will definitely visit again.
My husband and I rented the upstairs loft for our wedding reception and it was awesome! The staff were amazing - really took care of us the whole day, and we felt like they genuinely enjoyed having us there. Food and beer were delicious. Would highly recommend for hosting an event!
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Elora Brewing Company. Great patio. Great beer. Great food. Dog friendly patio which is a huge bonus for us. Will definitely be back when in the area.
One of my favourite breweries with awesomely delicious food. Talia was our server and she was brilliant. While I have been loads of times, this was the first time for the gf and parents. All of us loved the food. We all left full and completely satisfied. Thank you P. S.can't wait until lady friend comes back.
The house brewed beer is really good (e.g. The balanced, cloudy, and not over hopped IPA), the chicken sandwich inspired, and a modest though broad menu had something for the 4 of us. Say 4.5 stars, as the charcuterie plate was rather pedestrian compared with the rest of the meals
The woman behind the counter was super nice! She gave me Nmand my boyfriend testers of the beer so my boyfriend could choose which ones he wanted (he loved the beers btw). I'm not a big drinker but I got one of the best quality plaid shirts I've ever gotten and it's so comfortable (well worth the price I promise!)
Personal is welcoming, but a bit out of routine. Waited a bit to order; and food took some time to come while we were only people inside on the second floor. Food was excellent! Beer was ok; depending on what you like. Three Field was good. Atmosphere and restaurant was nice and clean.
We love this place! Tasty wings and fries, always a great selection of beer and absolutely lovely staff! Sometimes hard to get a spot on the patio, but that only speaks to how great it is!
Great staff, pet friendly patio with cold beer and a delicious menu. I would recommend a flight and then move to a beer of your choosing. The charcuterie as an app was delicious particularly the dates and the cheese. I also recommend the hamburger and fries.
Beer was good. The food was disgusting. The service was not very good either. Super slow and we waited for a very long time. Was pretty expensive for what we received. We mentioned this to our server, he apologized but did nothing to rectify the situation. Wouldn't recommend or return.
We have gotten take out a couple of times from the Brewery. The meat and cheese board was good.however it got very sticky from the honey. The Ceasar salad was also pretty good but could have had more toppings. We got the wings with a BBQ sauce. The wings are very disappointing as they are super tiny and on the dryer side. For the price.we expected better. The side of fries was the biggest let down. Elora Brewery had such amazing fries that were similiar to McDonald's.skinny and small.with house made ketchup. It is to bad they got rid of them. For $5 they barely gave us any fries.about a hand full. A bit disappointed with quality.
We did like that they would tell us when they were preparing the order and when it was ready. Saved us from going in to early and waiting.
Good place for drinks and vibe - but the food was not amazing. Not to mention very limited. Please expand and do better in your kitchen. I remember it being so good when it first opened.
So good. Delicious food and always great beer. Very nice patio in the main street. Great for people watching and central to everything. I recommend the chicken sandwich. Nice heat. You won't regret a stop here
Dropped in for a quick bite and a beverage after walking the gorge all afternoon. It was perfect! Our kids loved the orange soda and the snacks we shared. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Beer selection was great and tasted amazing. The food was quick and fresh and delicious. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our little day trip! Thanks so much! We will be back.
Beautiful day on the patio. Downed a couple of their light beer and boy were they cold and good! Could have better selection of apps as we just wanted a nibble. Had frittes and they were good.
First 2 visits were great but last one not so much. It may have to do with that pandemic we are going through because the first 2 visits were pre-pandemic and the last one was in Fall 2020.
Reply to owner's response: Hi, it's just the food that was not as good as it was the first 2 times. Otherwise service and the beers were just as excellent.
Had a great time here! Would recommend reserving a table on the weekends as it does get busy. Service was super friendly and attentive. The fried chicken was juicy and flavorful, fries were a bit too salty but addicting. Highly recommend the Elora Borealis beer or trying the beer flight!
Amazing menu that they change up often. Definitely try their homemade pickled items, they are delicious! The beer is always fantastic with fresh new choices, I recommend getting a flight to try them all.
Food is unique. But still accessible and not too frufru! Much of menu is locally sourced and shows attention to seasonality. The atmosphere is great. From the exposed stone to wood floors and blown glass light fixtures- loved it. Their beer is fantastic. Many types to choose from. Staff are friendly and attentive. It's unassuming, funky and you could have a nice dinner out or pop by for lunch after a hike.
I decided to try the Elora Brewing Company for lunch one Sunday afternoon as I had heard great things about them. My initial experience when I walked in the door was good as the host greeted me quickly and brought me to a table. The first waitress I had seemed to be friendly and helpful. She took my order quickly and brought my drinks right away. Not long after my appitizer arrived, but that is when things when south. I had ordered the pretzel, which arrived in poor condition. It looked like it was freezer burned and no better the what you buy in the grocery store freezer isle. It was $9 so I expected something better. It tasted bland and the mustard was nothing special. After I got my appitizer the waitress disappeared. I waited over 45 minutes for me main, which was just a salad with grilled chicken. After a long time, another waitress came up, asked if she could remove my plate and if there was anything else I needed. I explained I was waiting for my salad stil and she gave me this look and attitude as if I had offended her. Three minutes later she came back asking what salad I had ordered. Guess they lost my order? 10 minutes later I finally had my salad, again, nothing amazing especially for the price. The service was very poor and I would almost say rude. I had to wait for some time to get my bill as the second waitress I had was too busy chatting with her friends, right beside me, to pay attention. She brought my bill, which sadly was $39 for 12oz beer, pretzel and green salad with chicken. I paid, left a tip even though I felt she didn't deserve it and walked out the door for good. I enjoyed their beer and thought of buying some for home, but I refuse to support an establishment that will let their staff treat customers so poorly. I will never be back.
Amazing beer and even better people. I once had Lodestar Pink Guava as a guest tap at Abe Erb. I was so impressed I had to make a trip out to Elora to find this sour ale. The food was good, but the beer was just amazing. I couldn't get the guava but the Passion Fruit Lodestar I could still write home about. It was the start of the long weekend and not too busy; Brooks was more than happy to show us around and teach us about the craft of brewing. Amazing experience.
Normally go a couple times a year as its a 2hr drive but after today I think we will find a new spot.ordered drinks watch the waitress talk to a friend for 10 min then finally got our drinks we orders 2 apps and 2 burgers after 45 min i asked to cancel the apps cause it was pointless figuring everything was going to come at once or we didnt have an additional hours to eat out intended meal in a reasonably timly manner nope she just forgot to punch it in so after the hour mark we got our burgers which is my go to and sadly they were definitely cooked too long much drier and grey color than normal.couldn't wait to leave wanted to.buy a bunch of beers and a hat but wasnt really feeling it after that.normally great spot this time just sub par especially leaving the bay door open for an half.hour after delivery or whatever they were doing in the back should have to wear a coat to eat lunch.
I was there with a large group, so we had the space up stairs. The food was excellent. I tried both IPAs and the sour and they were fantastic! I would recommend
Interesting and diverse selection of their craft brew offerings, which includes a number of IPA's (which seem to be the "in" style amongst every craft brewery these days) and even a sour ale. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, salads, and some main entrees (for the supper crowd only). Nice brewery in a very picturesque, historical town. Great choice for a day trip or even a weekend getaway.
Atmosphere is very relaxed. Rustic and lively. We came for a beer tasting. Ordered chips and dips, chicken bites, and desserts. Everything was excellent. I personally loved the collision. My wife enjoyed the elora borealis.
We weren't able to do a tour as they were very busy. But we look forward to getting to do that another time!
We had a family with a few kids. The Server once we said we had a few kids made it clear they did not want us in there with her attention, body language and attitude. We needed a table for 13 and also said we would take two tables if the large table is an issue. They said 45 minutes to an hour trying to discourage us. When we said sure we will wait, then she huffed and said ok let me talk to my manager. She came back and offered to put us on the waiting list, So we asked them to let us know when a table would be available and they text your phone with open table. 1.5 hours went by no text and we knew they didn’t want us there so we texted them back saying to cancel the reservation.
We went to the cellar and the people were amazing and loved the kids and very accomadating, not to mention it was way smaller. Oh and the Bill was $400 so I would think having our group would of been profitable.
Other people walking in to this pub were walking in and we heard them say 15-20 minutes. But to discourage us they made it longer.
If you do not want families in your restaurant just say no one under a certain age. We would of accepted that and a bad review wouldn’t ensue. Just a unprofessional way to deal with the group we had. As business owners we would of understood if you feel our groups demographic with children is not profitable to have in your establishment.
Good luck in your business. We did hear good things and wish we could of enjoyed it as well.
I read all your bad reviews. Seems there is a common denominator with the hostess being rude and people feeling ignored and not being kid friendly. Might want to look into that. Could be a game changer.
Great place to eat and drink - both the beer and food was top notch and the place was full of friendly people, especially the staff. Try the Lady Friend IPA!
Wasn't able to make a reservation the week prior as they were "at capacity for reservations". Most of the food for the group was good, and reasonably priced. However, I ordered my food without bacon or onions, and it came with onions. I mentioned that when they took away the plate (and onions I'd picked out), but they didn't give any discount. Dessert we ordered for my friend (whose birthday it was) was very over-priced, but the chicken bite appetizer was fantastic, and great value. Overall, I'd go back.
EBC is a must visit! What an adorable brewery! The staff were so friendly and really know theirs beers. Best place to stop in for a refreshment before going for a hike in the gorge! Cheers!
