It was difficult to see the gorge from the trail because the trees are blocking it. Otherwise, it would’ve made a fantastic view. Had to get down to the tubing site to finally see the river.

Lively village to visit especially in the fall. Lots of quaint stores and delicious restaurants

Elora is a city close to Toronto, very welcoming and pleasant, where each street and tourist attraction tells a part of its story. I still intend to return to discover its trails and gorges.

Hiking and Forest bathing while listening to the water rushing through the gorge is magical.

We camped here for two nights. We have been to other campsites before, and never experience such a thing before. During the night after 1: 30 AM we heard some footsteps, and it was so scary because there was no security around or nobody around us to help. We quickly jumped in to our car to go and see if there’s anyone at the front entrance of the campsite, but to our surprise, there was nobody around. We even knocked the door and made lots of sounds to get attention, but there was nobody around, and the entrance was totally open; so anyone could drive to the campsite without having any permit there was no gates or no door to be close during the night. As you can imagine, we were so scared and couldn’t sleep until the morning.in the morning we asked the staff to see why there was nobody at the front entrance, No security no patrolling. They said because they’re short staffed, They didn’t had anyone available from 1 AM to 7 AM. We spoke with T. Schell and she clearly doesn’t know anything about customer service or security or patrolling, because when explained to her what happened last night she said: ” oh well, we could’ve just not come here to listen to your story and we could have just said oh poufff “ she also said: “because we are short staff we don’t have enough employee to cover the patrolling in the night “ She also said most of their employees are students so they cannot work as much as before”. Well, it’s not the customer's problem that you’re short staff if you cannot provide customer’s safety like before you should just close and shut down your campsite.it’s so funny when we have to pay the full price but not get the full service and safety BUT they don’t provide the service like before and they just simply say oh we are short-staffed!
To me it doesn't make sense, if it was McDonald or a retail I would totally get it, but this is a huge campsite and its about our life. I will never come back and also just wanted to tell you a very safe campsite “Rockwood” which has 24/7 patrolling and its very beautiful, you should try it next time!

Was very sad there was no place to swim, also sad no cannabis or alcahol. As someone who needs it medically that sucks. Was also sad no shuttle back from the tubing, I have spinal damage an was really let down by it. Plus side hole in the rock an look out point 1000 % a must see! And our site was beautiful that backed onto the gorge.

So sad that the next generations have to book and pay and be fenced off. The experience is not the same. It's nice to see some improvements and I'm sure the park would be worse without them. Still a beautiful park

There are two sections to the Elora Gorge Conservation Park. One is a campground only. The other area accommodates day trips with hiking trails, tubing, etc. Both of these areas you must pay an entry fee. The trail beside the Gorge has an obscured view due to many trees including the "lookouts". Of course they are needed due to erosion. There are 2 areas where you can go down into the Gorge. Hole in the Rock is interesting, where you go through a "cave" to a staircase to halfway down. See my pictures. On the other side of the Gorge in Elora there is a trail for no fee. There is also a staircase going all the way down on the town side but it looked a little rough so I did not use it. The lookout on the town side provided a nicer view. For a day tripper, except for a Hole in the Rock, I would say the town side was nicer and bonus, was free.

Main viewing platform was closed when we went.would've been nice if they said something at the entrance or if there was signage indicating it would be closed.

Pretty nice campground. No swimming readily available. Tubing wasn't that great, more like a kiddie ride. Campsites were 7/10. Firepit was still full of ash and tinfoil. Lots of little wood chips all over the site. Our site had zero shade in the afternoon, but it looks like they've planted some maple trees to combat this. Would likely go back, but plan for the shortfalls.

Alcohol and cannabis should be allowed on your campsite.
Make it a steep penalty if you consume anywhere else.
If you fall into the gorge you should pay for your rescue/recovery.

Really nice spot with a good trail leading to a large river. You can book tubing until 4: 30. Overall great place to go for the day.

Great Place! We walked for a couple of hours, and we could have done more.

Parking is free, but you have to pay for admission.

The trails are almost entirely in the shade.

Washrooms: They have washrooms in various locations that have sinks and running water.

Picnic areas: They have picnic tables for you to bring a lunch.

Activities along the river: You can pay to go tubing. I saw some people kayaking along the river.

History: See my pics to read about the history of this area.

Wheelchair accessibility: The trails are not wheelchair accessible. The paths have a lot of roots and there are some rocky areas (see my pics) that would be extremely difficult for a stroller to get through. There are also some stairs only sections.

Dope nature just 60-90 mins drive from the GTA! River tubing available in the spring and summer seasons.
