THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH! For the last 12 months Enercare has been charging me for a water heater rental, that I do not have. After repeated phone calls with their billing department, the charges have not stopped and continue to be applied to my bill. They even sent someone to my home to verify that I don't have a rental with them. I am now being harassed by their collection department. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC THAT THEY STILL CONTINUE TO CHARGE ME. THIS IS EXTORTION AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL FROM A COMPANY THAT HAS A TOTAL MONOPLOY. I CANNOT SEEM TO GET ANYONE AT THIS COMPANY TO DO ANYTHING TO RESOLVE MY PROBLEM. AN ABSOLUTE FAILURE OF A COMPANY!

Spoke to multiple agents about emergency service. Repeated my issue over and over again and over again.

Every representative seemed to NOT know how to do their job. Explained this was a Co2 leak issue and equipement is defective, and shut off by Enbridge Gas, that it's an immediate hazard, Tag "A" warning and after 3hrs I gave up trying to book a replacement water heater.

Some reps wanted to send a tech to look at it and decided what needs to be done.

One wanted to send a tech to turn the gas back on!

Another asked what I wanted them to do because there were no notes on file.

Lord help me have patience today.

A good professional service. We received a call that the tech would be arriving soon, ten minutes later Kishan arrived. Kishan was very thorough and gave us a brief on the state of out furnace. Kishan was polite and took all appropriate COVID precaution.

I have signed up for Heating and AC Maintenance and Protection plans 10 years ago, while this company was DirectEnergy. Later added plumbing and electrical protection plans. After paying for all those plans for 10 years I've experienced AC problem for the first time this summer. A technician came over, diagnosed the problem and referred me to the Parts Department. After that Enercare has ignored their obligations and all my calls. Customer service told me they can't help with Parts Department.
After a month and half the problem was not addressed. Based on this experience, I would recommend against using their Maintenance and Protection plans.

I already shared that I was very satisfied with the installation of a new furnace, AC and thermostat. The 2 servicemen were very professional and the work was certainly of a high standard. I also appreciated the fact that my questions were answered and that they cleaned up and left my home in good order.

When my furnace stopped working late afternoon on Dec. 23, I called Enercare. The first technician who came by Dec. 24, before noon, determined that a part needed to be replaced. Enercare was able to get the part for the afternoon. However, since I was at work all day and my son, who came to my house for the first appt, could not be at my house in the afternoon, I was informed by Enercare that they would then book an appt.for Dec. 25 in the morning to install the part, since they did not book any appts.after 7.00 pm on Christmas Eve. To my surprise I received a call late afternoon on Christmas Eve that a technician would come by after 7.00 pm on Christmas Eve after all to install the part. The name of
the technician was Ali Hosseini. I would like to thank Enercare and its staff and especially Mr. Hosseini for coming out that evening and making sure that I did not have to spend another night in a cold house and that I had a warm and cosy house for my Christmas Dinner with family and friends on Christmas Day.

Today we had a technician come over for equipment repair. His name was Jhon. C. He was extremely polite and explained exactly what he was doing at all times in great detail. He did all that was necessary, nothing more, nothing less. It (surprisingly) only took about 20_25 mins. Really good service non-the less.

Not a good company to do business with. They have ridiculous contracts that cost you thousands to get out of. If you rent their equipment they don't calculate depreciation so your only way to cancel or exit your contract is to pay thousands. Very unethical how they operate.

Highly suspicious, unacceptable and inhumane treatment.

I live in the Brimley and Lawrence area in Scarborough near the hospital.
They came to do "maintenance" just before our first snowfall (unbeknownst to us until the morning) the end of December and suddenly are heat stops working.

Our heating system worked 100% perfectly fine up until to 10 minutes or so after their "maintenance" person left.

Would be called there emergency service line they told us they couldn't have anybody out to help us until 11 in the morning and that there was nothing else they could do. They were quite fine with letting us know that we were going to be charged $100 even though they had no type of alleviation for an issue they clearly had something to do with.

We have no billing issues we have no issues whatsoever on our end and we pay our bills on time yet this company decided to choose us as guinea pigs for their freezing people overnight experiment in our very humble opinions.

The mere fact that we live in a freezing cold climate and that they had no emergency services for an essential services such as heat is irresponsible and inhumane and I'm sure something would be done if there was some sort of competition for this company or if there were some sort of consequence for such irresponsible egregious actions and or inactions.

If I can file a police report against this company I will and I urge others to do the same so that later in the future there's some sort of reference for this type of ridiculous Behavior posing as service for the public.

Previously I had dissatisfaction which I answered on a previous survey. This time i was really happy with the outcome of the service. The technician seemed to know what she was doing and on that note I would highly recommend. I feel good the protection plan really saved me big time.

Cold winter's night, and my 91 year old mother in law was visiting from California. Furnace stops working 3 day appointment to fix.
Sad! And disappointed on service.

I had an excellent visit from a young man (Miles) on Thursday December 28. He explained things very clearly and was able to fix an extra problem I had. I am a senior and need to count on service people like him!

Started out well with friendly customer service and a technician able to come out the same day to look at why our furnace wasn't working. Things went downhill from there. The first technician didn't have the part and had to order it for the next day. Then the part didn't arrive until hours after it was expected while we continued to wait. When the part finally arrived we were told that there were no further service appointments until the next day. We subsequently learned that the first technician could have done a temporary fix but instead we went two additional days with no heat. The following day a technician did not come in their four hour service window despite a confirmed appointment. When we contacted customer service we were told that they had no way to get a hold of technicians or find out their schedule and could not view any service history on our account. We were also told that there were no supervisors or managers on their shift to escalate and that we should continue waiting as there was nothing they could do to help. A couple of hours after our appointment window a technician did arrive and was able to fix the problem. He provided good service but at this point it was 5 pm on Christmas Eve day after three days of no heat. We are extremely dissatisfied with Enercare after this experience.

Worst customer service i have every had. Water heater replacement. Had an appointment yesterday, they didn't show up. Re scheduled for noon today (i was placed on the first appointment so i wouldn't have to waste another day just before Xmas). Once again didn't show up, called head office, they indicated that they were on route and would be there in 1/2 hours. Lies. An hour goes by and still nothing, not returning my text or voicemails. So much easier and cheaper to buy my own water heater and get it installed. Nobody deserves this treatment just before Christmas.

1 star is even too good for them.water heaters they rent out, life span is 8-12 years. But they don't change it till 14 years. I called them to change mine as im completing 14 years in few months.they sent a technician.who was very unprofessional.said don't change it till it reaches 20 years.
Also he said "do u think we change water heaters as soon as they reach 14 years? WE ARE A COMPANY AND RUN FOR PROFIT. HOW WE MAKE PROFIT IF WE START CHANGING WATER HEATERS ON EVERYONE AS SOON AS THEY REACH 14 YEARS. "
Then I said will call manufacturer and verify it.then he was creating unnecessary problems for me saying need to do few changes in my furnace room.otherwise will cut the gas supply. So I called enercare to verify do i really need to make those changes to my furnace room. As I have had enercare service technicians showed up at my house few different times for service and maintenance work. How come they never pointed out these things if they are that unsafe as per this technician. Specialist that I spoke to at enercare didn't even heard those or didn't know that I need to do the changes he recommended.
This shows how this company care for their customers. ALL THEY WORRY IS THEIR PROFITS.

Extremely satisfied with Enercare. Andre took a look at my furnaces did a few tests and found out it was the filter. It was causing my furnace to overheat and recommended one that I should get. There was no charge for this wonderful advice and visit. If I ever do need a new furnace they will be the first ones I’ll call. Thanks again, great job Andre

Worst Company Ever. TLDR: Rented for 9 years, They will leave you without a water heater and will NOT tell you when you anything so as you can prepare it. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO compensation for the water heater downtime (Even if the downtime is 72 hours, so if you decide to do business with these clowns, prepare an emergency hotel fund)

First, off the staff are nice and properly trained (to not help you and just say “sorry for your unfortunate predicament, I am unable to answer your most basic of questions”).

my problems began on Dec 20 the last thursday before holidays. My water heater broke but i wasnt too worried as the enercare sales guy told me “as a renter of their prestigious water heaters, I would never have to deal with these long downtimes or worries”. I gave enercare a call who scheduled a technician for the next day between 9 am and 1 pm. Being someone who likes to prepare I wanted to know the best (instant fix of water heater) and worst case scenarios (part missing need to order part, 3-5 days). I also asked if in the case of the 3-5 day wait, what will enercare do to make the situation for myself and my family bearable (put us in a hotel/install a temp water heater they have/ give us money to find an abnb) they said, verbatim, “youll have to boil water”. I asked to be transferrred to a manager at 9: 00pm ish. This lady (Kathleen) was very professional and well trained and not rude. The reason i keep mentioning well trained is because they do whatever it takes to avoid the question:

‘what will enercare do to accomodate their customers during the water heater downtime’

i asked for yet another escalation and kathleen told me someone would call me back tomorrow morning.

Dec 21st 8: 36 am. I recieve a call from enercare. The lady was unable to hear me or something and hung up. She did not bother to call back (another one of enercares business practices) and I made a call back to enercare but when I realized it was the call centre, I hung up.

Dec 21st 11: 40 am. Spoke to a nice man, he told me the technician fixed my water heater (apparently he just flicked the ‘on switch’ and it started working so he gave himself a pat on the back and left the house)

Dec 21st 1 pm the water heater fails, I call enercare to schedule a 7-11pm appointment and I express my discontent with customer support who again “cannot do anything and will have to wait till the technician arrives and properly diagnoses the water heater [note the first guy totally dropped the ball on that]” another entire business day wasted due to the incomptence of the first technician.

Dec 21st 8 pm.the second tech comes, he says he beeds a part ordered and thats all there is he can do.all the stores are closed will most likely come in 3-5 days

After the tech leaves I call enercare to express my furstration.same thing cant do anything about it.nobody is here to approve anything.i dont know when theyll be back.call tomorrow morning.im sorry for your predicament

Dec 22nd 9 am.been on the phone with them for 2 hours.luckily the part will come between 4 pm- 10 pm.and i have to schedule a tech for 7-11 pm and if the tech arrives and the part isnt there, he will just leave because they cant coordinate part+tech.

Dec 22nd 11 am, enercare lets me know that they cant schedule the tech for 7-11 because thebpart isnt confirmed “there” and theres nth they can do about it like “communicate” with their employees.so the earliest i can schedule is Dec 23rd 9 am

so to recap:
-first employee tells me during the 3-5 day downtime of the waterheater i have to wait/boil water
-second employee tells me to disregard what the first said and that they cant answer the question till we get to that point
-first technician fails to accomplish anything and wastes an entire day
-second technician orders a part he doesnt have equipped and tells me itll take 3-5 bd
-nighttime customer support cant do anything and doesnt know anything tells me to call back when a manager is in tmr
-daytime employee essentially tells me what the night time employee told me

useless.

They came to clean the duct and france. But after going on, the ferrance door and the humidor of the rail opened up completely fog. It was full of occupation and dirt. The rack filter was also full of dirt.

Though Enercare customer service took 60 minutes to attend my service request on the phone, there are excellent plumbers like Nick Pelowich who took just 15 minutes to solve the plumbing related issues. I appreciate Nick. The call center team must look into how to deal with customers.

My Tankless water heater been broken since a week ago and took two technician to figure out what is wrong with it. Until now they still have not order me the parts and when I call customer service everyday to ask when will the part be delivery to me and all they say we will call you back which of course they didn't. What is the point of paying maintenance when they can't even fix the problem after a week?

Worst experience, given appointment Monday to change 2 water heater nobody showed up called after multiple transfers concluded a promise for Wednesday nobody showed up again same calling and frustrating experience of promise for Thursday again nobody showed up no apologies no call to change or inform. We had an issue with our water tank system just before Christmas. I must give a 5 star review because the service and effort that was made over a 3 day period to trouble shoot our problem and get the tank replaced went as quickly and efficiently as possible. With me via text even after his work day was done. Another huge thank you for Saleem the 2nd technician who had to come out to get our new tank up and running after the install and urgently as we had a Christmas event only an hour or so after he was dispatched!
I must say I was very impressed with the care and professionalism that was provided to us from Alan Edmond & Saleem- great job enercare great service!
