Ennio's Pasta House

My husband and I always go to Ennios (both locations) any time we dine out. We ate there for the first time the night we got engaged and it has been our special place ever since. We have never had anything close to a bad experience and the food is always fantastic. Word of caution though, once you have Ennios pasta, no chain restaurant garbage will ever be good enough again!

We visited to celebrate our 6th month anniversary and the atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. They have inside and outside seating with light music. The food was amazingly delicious. If you are looking for some authentic Italian pasta, I will recommend this place. We loved the cheese cake too

Service was terrible had to chase the waitress into the kitchen to get cutlery! The place needs a good cleaning it was dirty and had a musty smell! The dish that I always order whenever I have been there in the past, garlic and olive oil pasta was not good, the garlic tasted old and bitter! Will not be back!

Amazing quality and portions. We had Ennios catering for a 50th anniversary party. Everyone was so impressed with the food. So tasty. 5 star quality.
We were also impressed with the pricing to portion sizing. Just a great experience.
Our menu was the meat lasagna, chicken picatta, bettola (penne and spicy vodka sauce), fresh salad and Tiramisu for dessert. Loved it.definitely recommend.

Before sharing my last experience with Ennio's I do want to point out that this was my first bad experience with them. I have been there before, and it has always been delicious and a good experience. I came here on a date and ordered the seafood Manicotti, it was very bland and barely had any seafood on it. This is especially dissapointing as it was 25 dollars. My date tried it, and said the same, and we agreed that there was just something missing. She ordered the Shrimp Zafferano, the taste was good but she messaged me the next day saying she got food poisoning and was in bed all day, feeling nauseated and could not eat anything. I haven't been to this location for years, and remember ordering similar dishes at both this location and the other one. The taste was much better those times, and we never had any issues. The only reason why I gave it two stars is because our waitress was great.

Visited the first time and was in totally love with the food that I ordered. I would recommend everyone that is reading to must visit the place if you are a fan of Italian food. The servers were very friendly and took really good care of every table.

Really wanted pasta so thought we'd try this place as it has decent reviews.

Turned out to be a little over hyped. Both pasta dishes we ordered were good but nothing overly special. Definitely not worth $18+. Were given bread for the table (2 small buns, if you want salad it's an extra $2.99.

Overall just over priced for what we got.

I really enjoy their pasta and the service is quite friendly.

It is a bit expensive to add on protein to the pasta, and when you do pay the extra price for it, I find that the meat is a bit skimpy. It’s still packed with flavour, however, and I really enjoy their menu.

Chefs rude and doesn’t care they messed up my order and didn’t do anything about it. My friend knows him and apparently the chef doesn’t tip when he eats out. Just goes the show the level of disregard. Won’t be back. Overprice undervalued if I want a pasta dish I’ll spend 10$ and take 20 mins to boil noodles and make it myself. Harsh lesson

I had lunch here earlier this week. They have a nice sized patio which was perfect under Covid conditions. The patio is fenced in and it can be a bit confusing to know where to go but the entrance is on the opposite side from the buildings main door.

I had the Chicken Tetrazzini and is was creamy and delicious with lots of mushrooms and the chicken was perfectly tender.

Ennis is kinda old fashioned but in all the right ways. High quality classics done right. Prices are a bit higher than chain restaraunts but so is the quality.

One warning they did not appear to have a lot of options or substitutions. My friend has celiac and there were no gluten free pasta options. Fortunately their house salad was gluten free and very generous is size.

Service was perfect. Friendly without being intrusive. Highly recommend.

Expensive but very ordinarily food, we had two different pasta dishes and the sauce in both where bland.the patio is OK for Covid times, the service was good and fast. They are good at Covid precautions

Great meal with the family. Very tight on following the public health rules if you like that kind of thing.

Really had good experience with them. Pasta was delicious, pizza was perfectly baked and loaded with flavours. But cocktails were horrible: (serving quantity is good with great customer service. I definitely recommend this place for food.

The pasta here is some of the best pasta I have had in a long time. It was extremely flavourful and very filling. We were not even able to finish our dishes and we both have very large appetites! The pizza was good, but the pasta was much better, it is made fresh daily and it definitely does not disappoint. One of my favourite pasta spots in the region!

I order from Ennios to cater for my backyard micro-wedding and am so thrilled with their work! Their food was delicous and our guests couldn't stop talking about it! I will definitely be ordering from Ennios again, absolutely phenomenal!

I like their food. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is their website. It’s simply a so unnecessary difficult experience to order online using their online ordering site. There is no photo of the dishes and all the items are just smushed together which makes it easy to mistake the dishes from each other. I suggest you to invest more on your client experience when they order online given the COVID restrictions.

I have had reserved the place for a celebration 3 days ahead by phone. It was supposed to be a surprise! On the day, we went to the place and they said there is no reservation. I even gave them some details that the receptionist gave me by the phone and confirmed that I had the reservation. There were no spot for us and we left the place. They completely ruined the celebration and the surprise. What a shame!

My most favourite Italian place in Kitchener-Waterloo!
The portions are great and the flavours are authentic - rich, creamy and fresh ingredients!

My partner and I used to frequent it for Valentine's and date nights because of the lovely ambiance. In covid, we are delivering from these folks pretty regularly and the quality and quantity have been consistently top-notch.

Do not hesitate to order anything off the menu. Some of our favourites are the Shrimp Zafferano and Portobello Mushroom Ravioli.

Just one little request to the team in case you guys read this: the portions for the ravioli are definitely low for the price and there's no option to add more ravioli which kinda sucks. Taking off 1 star just because of this because we love the ravioli and wish it was as filling as the other dishes.

It's eff'n dark in here man, Oglio Olio is delicious but I lost my grandmother in here last week and we still cant find her.

Authentic Italian. Our go-to place in KW. 2 locations. The original in Waterloo and another in Kitchener. Nona is working the kitchen.

Excellent italian food. Talked to ennios wife once a d she said everything made fresh. You can tell. Its so good. I go for the pazzo bread and the Rustica pasta dish. A little gluttunous but whatever.

We had not been in a while and now I remember why. The food in my opinion has changed drastically at this restaurant and not for the better. Crossing it off the list

Love this place, been going since I was a kid. May be my favorite Italian place. Make sure you go to the Waterloo location

Amazing dishes, salads and apps. Would highly recommend coming here. A little pricey but great for a nice night out.

Went here today. I should say the meal is not bad. The environment is clean but a bit noisy. Maybe it is because today is Saturday. What I want to mention is if come here for a daily meal the price will seems a little bit high.

After we order, this male server here just ignore you until you call him to give you water. Also the waiting time is ridiculous long, wait for 48mins to get two pasta even only 8 tables and 6 of them already get their food. I don’t come back unless they improve their customer services.

Great atmosphere, and great food, only reason it didnt get the fifth star is because in my opinion the Kitchener location by Fairview is better, but if you are wanting to do other things in the area the Waterloo one still has the same great food just a little less love

Love the food but when I can't go out delivery has so many restrictions it's ridiculous. You can only order through Skip, but they often shut down delivery between 6 and 8pm. Ordering through Skip makes any customization difficult, and you can only pay by credit card if your order totals more than $60 after tax/deliv/tip (which at these prices is easy to do for 2+ people), but under 60 you can pay cash. So basically you can only order delivery early or late, with minimal customization, and need to pay by credit. Why bother?

Had the lunch special and absolutely loved the Italian salad and Tetrrazini pasta. I can't wait to return back to this place.

Authentic and flavourful italian cuisine at it's finest. Family had a great time fro appetizer to desert. Thank you to our great waiter, Al for the great service. Will be back!

I thought all the negative reviews were just from people with gluton allergies. The truth is that the food here is bland and not Italian at all. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are nice. The chef, however, must be a tyrant to get away with what he is getting away with. This place reminded me of an ideal location for an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

As soon as you walk in the aroma of tomato sauce fills your nose and the atmosphere is vibrant like one big happy Italian family. The food causes your taste buds to dance with joy with each bite. The portions are generous and make for yummy leftovers. Good for people of all makes and models, families big or small or a night out with your friends. Prices are reasonable.

One of my favourite places to eat in Waterloo! The food is great with lots of flavour and spices. Some of my favourites include the Passo Bread, Bruschetta and Bettola. The portions are pretty big on the dinner menu and the perfect size on the lunch menu. Also they have a patio in the summer time.

My partner and I went to Ennio's to celebrate our anniversary and were thrilled to find not only that all the features were vegetarian, but that the feature entrée was VEGAN! I can't quite express how excited I am about this. Totally unexpected and wonderful. Beyond sausage hasn't even been in Canada for that long! Kudos to the chef for being aware of current trends in vegan food and for catering to the community. Thank you thank you! Will definitely be back and share this with everyone in the KW Vegans group!

Also the service was great. When we arrived they seemed to be a bit busy and so another host or server took our drink order while we waited for our server (who was excellent by the way). Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and was very considerate of my veganism. Cosy and warm atmosphere for a date as well. It was a perfect experience in every way.

Oh, and way to hop on the reusable straw trend as well!

I love going to Ennios. The atmosphere is quiet, cozy elegant and staff is very friendly. Everything I have ever tried here is fabulous. From the ice water, the appetizers, main dish and raspberry chacolate cheesecake. They are also very willing make alterations to their dishes.

I used to love going to this restaurant with my family. We would sit in for special occasions or get takeout usually a few times a month when we felt like eating in. The food is great so I am not knocking that but the customer service is very poor. My most recent experience happened in December 2018 when I decided to take my boyfriend in for his first time at Ennios. I had talked about it several times and we were very excited to go. We got seated in a corner seat by the front door which was freezing cold because of the draft from the window. We were OK with this and were not going to complain about the seat. We were waiting for a waiter to come to our table to fill our water and take our drink orders, but this never happened. The waitress had gone to the table beside to bring them their meals and the table behind to see if they needed anything but had not come by to bring us water. I said to my boyfriend we will wait 10 minutes, and then after 10 minutes I said we would wait another 10 and if nothing we would be walking out of there. Well after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to even come by our table to ask if we wanted water, we were furious. We had been seated and then totally forgotten about. It was some of the worst customer service I had experienced at a restaurant to date. It was definitely no busier then a normal night (as I said I have gone several times so I have seen it busy and seen it slow). I am writing this review in the hopes that the restaurant will see it and do much better. I would hate for another customer to feel shafted the way we did. We walked out of the restaurant and sad to say I will not be going back here to this location because that experience soured me so much. Ennios, please do a lot better - at least come by the table to bring water within 5-10 minutes and let the customers know you are busy or will be right by etc.

Everytime I go hear I order the Carbonara. I don't like the Carbonara. They should put a sign in there to remind me of such things ;)

So this place is an Italian staple to say the least. Not only is the food good. Sorry exceptional. But the service is top notch as well. This was my Birthday celebration and when asked where I wanted to go, I immediately said Ennios. In fact the servings are so good that I had “Birthday Left Overs” just the other day. Amazing.

Food took a little longer than the industry norm. It was really good though. We did show up earlier on a Monday so staffing was in skeleton mode.

Service was good and everyone was very polite.

Price was respectable for the portion size and quality of the food.

All in all a pleasant experience.

Been in and out of Waterloo for over 6 years and I finally tried this place for a date. Really awesome Italian food that surprisingly does not empty the wallet. Amazing service the waitresses where moving so quickly and looked very busy however when they came to your table the interactions never felt rushed! Provided really good menu advice so it seems like some of them eat there which is nice to see. Pasta was all made in house and seasonings balanced very well. Ill be back again for sure!

Don't let the location allow you to question the quality and deliciousness of this food!

Amazing restaurant. I shifted to Waterloo from Switzerland and was looking for good pizza place since February. Finally ate the best pizza in town after six months of pizza hunt in Waterloo. Nice ambiance and service was good. I also head pasta with white sauce and it was delicious too. Good place for vegeterians/vegans as their pizza base is eggless, cheff prepared dishes without onion, garlic on my request. All the good food, nice service and prices are economical too.

Very good food, and quite filling. I ordered the calamari fritti and the lamb au jus, and found that the lamb would have been pretty filling on its own while the calamari is definitely an antipasti to be shared with others. The quality is great, but I'll make sure to order something smaller if I'm ever eating there alone.

A classic Italian restaurant (decor, nostalgic props) with mouth-watering food, attentive servers and reasonable prices (not the cheapest but worth it). Recently attended a group dinner with a pre-decided menu to choose from and had no complaints! Portion sizes were generous. Highly recommend.
