Place is always clean, their products are always clean and fresh and there is a litter boy that work there, his customer service is on another level so with all those things put together its worth me driving half-hour there for my groceries plus on certain things the prices are cheaper than elsewhere. ️️️️️nice place!
It's more or less what you'd expect from a discount grocery store. Only problem I have is that it's very busy and they haven't set up their self checkout machines since they installed them 6 months ago. Really wish they'd get that going.
Nice store with poor and shameful management: cashier made over charge on my bill, I told her and she asked manager to fix, manager asked me to go another line that it is cashier and customer service together! And again through line up, I explained to her that it’s not my fault and I don’t want to spend more time to correct this, she told me it’s not her problem with rudeness, when I asked her name to report to head office, she left the scene without answer me? !? !? (un acceptable customer service!
Well stocked store but the management has done a very poor job during the pandemic. Many employees without masks or have masks at their chins. I watched a cashier as she removed her mask, rubbed her nose and then touched someone’s unpackaged food. We have started driving to no frills in Markham
This location, other shoppers are like zombies. They don't care about covid at all. Literally rush past you, when you have literally just gotten into the aisle. On the other half there is a large assortment of various international foods here. Line ups are short, carts are cleaned. Employees are always smiling. Customers just need to be patient and open their eyes.
I love the No Frills concept, value for money especially with inflation so high this year. Besides the everyday low prices, look for their specials for additional savings. Make sure you have a $1 to temporarily use their shopping carts
The pharmacy in the No Frills here is NOT reliable when they have to deliver medicine. Since our records got transferred from Loblaws they are never filled on time and when it gets delivered it's at 9: 00 or 10: 00 p.m. It's been like this for 5 months. I always have to keep calling to remind them because they don't show up. They just can't handle the volume that Loblaws has given them. If your life depends on these medicine then I would suggest you try elsewhere if you need them delivered. Service isn't the issue, reliability is.
The store is clean a four, five star for this type of store but it's the pharmacy that brings the rest down. There's always a good deal and lots of parking.
It's okay. They have the eggnog ice cream which is nice. They don't have the candy cane ice cream which was disappointing. They also didn't have regular table salt. To me that's a staple there's no excuse to not have.
Before I get into my review: Self check out lanes have been there since June but have never been activated. Complete waste of space.
This place, although reasonably priced, has some issues. If you look through the reviews and sample some of the more negative reviews, you get an idea that the cleanliness and overall management could use some work.
My biggest pet peeve?
Trying to figure out what the prices of some items are. The bakery, freezer, and non-perishable food shelves (cans, juice, etc.) are all a mess with mix-matched prices (freezer section is missing huge chunks of prices) and are not maintained properly. I only know the price at check-out for some items and embarrassingly have to explain that this $15 item was under a $5 price tag. Really lazy.
Always friendly and nice staff and amazing prices. I approached the baker and the butcher once and they are extremely helpful and approachable. Everything I look for is always in stock. Overall, my go to store.
I have bought chicken 2 times in this location and I dumped them to the garbage because they were petty bad and had very bad smell due to keeping them in not right temperature. I went to a near location to my house to return them but they didn’t accept and they told me you have to return them to the same location where you bought. Very disappointed. We will never ever buy anything from No frills anyway more as a family of 8 people.
I frequently shop here for groceries and today they scanned my groceries incorrectly. The flyer literally says the item is on sale and the cashier was like "idk the item isn’t scanning that price" and just stood there. Like? Your flyer says that price and you’re not going to do anything?
And then two other items were not scanned correctly and they made me wait another 20 minutes to just talk to customer service? Why don’t they have a seperate person for it? I already waited to scan my groceries, and now I have to wait again for a mistake on the stores behalf? I understand there’s limited workers but this system just doesn’t make ANY sense.
It’s very upsetting because I shop here often, but now I don’t want to give them any more service.
Frequent neighborhood shopper here and have always been happy with the store, specially the staff and have provided them excellent reviews in the past. Today as I was putting some pasta for the Food Bank into the specific cart by the door.to my horror and dismay, one slipped through my fingers and fell to the floor.the impact resulting in a big ripped bag. So off to Customer Service I went and requested if they could put in one bag of pasta into the Food Bank cart.pasta which had been paid for. The answers was a curt No! I would have to buy one. While I get it. I feel the store could have done a better job specially since it was for the Food Bank in these extraordinarily difficult times. Shame!
My overal experience has been great except for, i have seen people (customers) that are freely wondering at the store without a mask at least 3 times.i decided to shop elsewhere at least until covid situation is better.staff are good.
One of the bigger locations with a butcher shop and a fishmonger. Due to it being bigger it is better stocked than some other locations, example of items easier to find here are Turkey meat. It is also currently one of the locations with a beer license. Otherwise the usual discount grocery store that competes with the likes of Food Basics and Freshco.
Just paid a visit to this location recently and was horrified with both patrons and staff not following COVID-19 protocols. Sure, everyone was wearing their token masks but there was absolutely no thought to any kind of social distancing. The experience reminded me of prior Black Friday shopping in the US - people only thinking of themselves. The staff were not much better. The shopping carts were a mess too.none were sanitized. If you’re reading this and WANT to contract COVD-19, go ahead and shop at this location. I’ll be taking my biz elsewhere from now on.
We find the vegetables very fresh and a good selection. I’m always impressed with the choice of various salad products eg, Romain, red leaf, iceberg, etc. We have shopping here for over the last year and a half because of the good service, friendly staff, wide isles and overall general cleanliness.
So I went in there on a busy Saturday aft. Yesterday and I was looking for the chocolate that was on Sale.couldn't find it anywhere. So I ask some Employees and they were talkative and helpful so much that she could see that I had a small personal buggy and she went and looked for them and brought them back. Later I realized that it was the Owner, Enzo that was chatting with me about the chocolate bars being a better deal that the almonds. How nice eh. I thought so. Well done No Frills Yonge and 16th. Sincerely, Darlene
Why they put the lower price on the products when it is regular price on the system.when we check the receipts we surprised with the price.this is tricky! It happened many times and can’t be a mistake, Please stop it! I’m tired of returning them! Sales items are not available usually they just drag the people there
Way too busy! No crowd control for covid. Good prices, but there were so many people and no one was social distancing. The valu-mart I usually go to has someone at the door to keep the number of customers inside at an appropriate number. I will not be switching to shopping here. Stay away if you're social distancing, it's not possible here.
The fruits and vegetables were old and expensive there was no banana and cucumber was 1.47 which was less than a 1 before weekend the other things was rotted
The produce is good. The overwhelmed cashiers get little support from the surly stock boys. I've seen them hiding out in groups in the aisles swearing and fooling around. I go there because the prices are better but it's crowded and badly managed.
Many products are spoiled even the expire date is ok, bad management with this location I return few times, customer service are not very helpful have to wait until they call someone 2 line are open only, I would recommend to keep receipts.
Very disappointed behavior from the staff;on Civic holiday we check the website and we find they open till 6we weñt there around 5 and a guy (very rude guy) in front door stoped us and shout out the people there that there was mistake in website and we can not serve you. I understand the mistake but can not understand the atitude of the staff.the story wasn't end here and argue was get serious in he insulted to every body. I will never go to nofrlis even it's the closest grocery to my home.better they teach their staff how to respect their costumer.if there is not a costumer there is not income for them.
Always packed at the line up, takes forever to get to cash. Always dirty, smelly and sticky throughout the store. Produce is usually bad. There is not much variety of food at all. The prices are not bad but that's pretty much all.
Before nice and clean this store I drive past the no file drive 10 km because more clean quality now there not out side flying all over the flyers in side floor durty
Good verity, though I had some things missing (not critical). Fresh vegetables and fruits, and great ready made food section. Cofortable parking with planty of spaces.
Management should enforce item limit. I got behind someone last week with +30 items to be checked through in the 12 items or less checkout. Cashier shrugged her shoulders when I challenged her on it. I (and 2 customers behind me) abandoned their shopping and walked out. Customer service is terrible. Cashiers barely acknowledge you. Not so much as a “good morning” “thank you”, “did you find everything you were looking for? ”
I had a simple question about the price in grocery section and there was a lady who answered my question: "qo ask cashier"and left while I was not satisfied with her answer then while she was walking away I have called her and she keep walking and ignoring me, after few time calling her I had to call her a little bit loudly and she stopped and gave me frown face and I says you have to answer my question and she replied in a very unprofessional way: "I don't have to. " Then I approached the customer service and they called section manager and he showed up after 5 minutes. I said the story and manager said: "I will talk to her! " Is it really enough?
As a customer I expect respect and this is very normal to ask question about product and I deserve a polite answer. Funny part after I wasn't satisfied with managers act I was living the store and same lady was laughing at me and I'm sure there won't be any serious action toward this matter. This is not first time in this location that employees treaded me in very low standard manner and I won't go there again for shopping. My suggestion for other customers is to be aware of your integrity in this location.
I went down there last week (with all the construction on Yonge St. Parking is horrible. You take your life in your hands trying to cross the road to get into No Frills. I had a shopping cart next to me when I was pulling out a watermelon from the bin and someone tried to walk away with it. I shopped and paid and then realized that I had been overcharged on 2 items, a lot. I checked with the cashier and he said that's what the computer said it was. Now I have bot these items many times over in the other No Frills near me so I know my prices. I got my money back for them. Don't think I'll be going back, especially with the traffic around there.
Poor customer service. No store manager or supervisor on duty at 18: 20. Some milk and dairy price tags are misleading. Will try to avoid shopping at that specific place & would not recommend. After seen other people reviews I noticed a lot of compains about mess and impolite staff. YES, I did experience a same problem in that particular store
Love this No Frills. They recently added an amazing organic section and their produce is really good. I never buy meats or fish here but the rest it is pretty good. I'm only giving 4 stars because they don't carry that fresh Portuguese cheese that I love. Don't waste your time going to Walmart.
A very good place to shop. I've heard that it can get busy in the late afternoons and early evenings. I can reassure everyone that on Sunday morning this is a great place to shop!
I shop here every week but I have to admit that it could be better; the store is a big mess most of the time with carts full of things to return that have been out for far too long, especially things that are suppose to be in the fridge, there are products in produce that are moldy and some things on shelves based date still on display. I like the cheaper prices and the organization of things in the store
