The scenery is outstanding and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. We were thankful we could access the trail map on my phone as it was easy to get lost with limited trail marking. The woman's washroom was clean but the soap dispenser was empty. There are clean picnic tables adjacent the parking lot. Have your debit or credit card ready as parking is $7.50.

Beautiful trail! I visit trails frequently and this one hits the spot. I love it because of the fairy like ethereal scenery and the cleanliness of the place.

A great little forest and meadow to explore. Many paths means that if you come multiple times you don't have to go in the same order twice!

Be cautious in the summer since it is a hot bed for ticks and the meadow areas have long grass at random points that can be an easy vector.

It is a nice place for hiking, however my most recent experience has led me to be very cautious of ticks. In the grassy area, lots of them, we were constantly taking them off of our shoes and legs. Just be aware if you have dogs and children with you. I don't believe they are the kind to carry lyme disease however they still cling on and bite.

This is a beautiful and very serene conservation area, especially in the fall and winter after a fresh snowfall (I avoid coming here during the warmer seasons due the excessive tick warnings). It's easy to get lost (or do an extra loop) if it's your first time or you're not following the trails. As much as I like it, I don't know that I'd pay more than $5 for parking - it used to be free until 2021.

I took a star away as some of the caves can very easily be missed and be a safety hazard.

Nice conservation area but beware of the ticks, we came home covered with ticks crawling all over myself and my two boys.
11 July 2022 18:09
A lovely place to walk, but this year beware of TICKS.in just 15 min on the trail, we all got covered in ticks. Just this weekend, we had to run out of the park. We probably removed more than 50 ticks from us in that short time.
13 May 2022 12:58
Nice little conservation area with some short trails. Surrounded by houses so you certainly don't feel you're in a rural area at all.
10 May 2022 2:10
It's a nice walk, perhaps even nicer in winter. Would be great to post signs on the path indicating where you're headed. But nice, nonetheless
08 May 2022 3:52
I'm just happy this park is here, and the land is protected, it's a bit pricy for parking but if it helps with keeping the park maintained and the city out as it's already encroached all around it in the past 5-10 years then I have no concerns paying $7.50 for parking. The "caves" were a bit of a disappointment, don't expect much of a cave, but a nice park to walk around in none the less.

I really enjoy walking my dog and bringing my family hiking in this area. The forest is beautiful and my favorite but there are also small caves and wild flower fields to see. I'm only giving it 4 stars for two reasons: 1. The map signage could really improve. I have been lost in this area and my spouse on a separate occasion also got lost. It's not so big that you would end up sleeping out there but it is worrisome that both of us are active hikers with a good sense of direction and spent an extra hour trying to get back to a familiar path. If you stick to the main loop to see the largest cave you won't have any issues. I still bring my young child. 2. There are many many ticks in the area. There are informative signs helping people to identify ticks. If you go from May until winter (and even on warm days in the winter), especially in the fields, you need to cover up with clothing or deet containing repellent, and you should definitely check yourself and your family/pets before getting into your car at the very least. I've done a lazy search of myself and my dog only to come home and find 10 ticks crawling on him. Again if you stick to the main path, you don't brush up against nature/ticks.
I do hope this doesn't discourage anyone. I still recommend these trails and enjoy going. In fact, I was there today!

Great easy trails that are very family friendly. Great for younger children. A lot of choice so you can do a small loop or a longer one.
15 February 2022 4:19
Great place for the family to take a quick nature walk. Be cautious of wildlife (coyotes), ticks, and harmful plants.
24 January 2022 21:15
I love bringing my pup here for walks. I a beautiful area, so close off the Redhill Parkway. Easy walk and never really busy. Love that this area is included in the Hamilton conservation pass. Always well maintained and has a public washroom.
14 January 2022 6:30
Great hiking area with lots of parking (paid) and a clean public bathroom. The trails are marked well. The only downside was the cave; it was a big disappointment.
10 December 2021 3:48
Really nice place beautiful scenery and caves and fissures. Would've rated it a 4 star but when looking up the place I saw pics of a big cave entrance that said it was nexus cave entrance never found it or the natural bridge looking thing with cave/ tunnel in the pics of the place. I walked all trails more then once. If it's not there dont put pics of them on Eramosa karst website.
29 November 2021 22:26
Beautiful trails. Fall leaves. Caves. Tree forts. Fresh air. Small streams.
Perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon. My 6 and 3 year ds loved it.
29 November 2021 18:29
Nice scenic trail. Took my buddy and I a couple hours to venture the whole trail. Has stone trails and grass trails (don't wear your nice shoes). Lost of nature and animals with some cool percs like river streams and caves.
21 November 2021 17:26
Nice place to get your kids interested in caves and spelunking, while giving them a lot of space to run
20 November 2021 9:57
Go when it ISN'T tick season and it's beautiful and isolating - otherwise the only thing you can think about is the amount of ticks.
14 November 2021 19:25
Well maintained trail. Perfect for casual family stroll or bike ride as it is primarily level ground. Lots of shade from the beautiful trees. Possible to complete with a stroller. Some neat little spots to explore not too far off the trail with small rivers and rocks. There is a small area at the parking lot with picnic tables but aside from that there isn't much in the way of open space so it is mostly trails! Not a large parking lot but I haven't seen it full since most people do the trail and leave. Hamilton conservation pass will allow you to park for free and access the trail while supporting conservation efforts - well worth it!
08 November 2021 20:06
Comfortable walk along good trails, very close to a busy shopping area. A few maps along the way helped to orient to where you are.
07 October 2021 2:28
Great place for a walk. Lots of dog walkers.
You do need to pay for parking at main lot. But can park near by and walk over or through another entrance.
01 October 2021 5:07
Small caves but kind of neat. The surrounding area is all being developed so it will no longer get the water flow any more. Will be interesting ntp see how this affects the area.
17 September 2021 16:35
Several kilometres of trails. Lovely conservation area overall. And I will confirm there are ticks if you walk through the grassy trails - be mindful of that. Also, the parking fee is $7.50 on weekdays which I know it sounds like a drawback - then again, the area is well maintained so can't complain.
07 September 2021 15:26
A few interesting sights and a nice trail network overall. A nice park for locals living nearby. Parking lot is not free sadly!
15 August 2021 6:28
We were expecting caves and got little holes in the ground. Not a bad place if you want to walk on a stone path through some trees but not a great hike
09 August 2021 4:59
This is a great park to go trail walking through the woods. There should be better signs qithin the trails. If dont know your way you could get lost. Yes there are ticks if you walk along the grass trails. The caves here are not walk through caves, only holes between rocks. Again the forest is the best part of this park.
25 July 2021 13:31
A hidden gem! Very flat and safe walking trails with some fun off-shoots to explore. The caves are very enticing, just watch your step when you check them out. Not as big as it looks on the map, but a good hike if you cover all three trails.
11 July 2021 7:12
We visited this place because it’s supposed to be dog-friendly, but it is not. Do not bring your furry friend here. This season, it is heavily infested with ticks. There are Dog-Strangling Vines that could get a small dog stuck. We also found a snake on the trail. The trails connect paved and unpaved paths. It’s difficult to avoid these invasive species. There are warning signs, but you only see them once you’re inside the trail.
11 April 2020 10:47
It's a nice place for a hike, the caves are neat to see, even though there's not much to see in them.
07 April 2020 5:16
Well groomed trails, but there are tons of burs even in the winter that are not so fun to pull out of our dog.
12 March 2020 20:18
Nice place for a quick hike. There are a variety of trails but the main trail, marked by the orange arrows, will take you just under half an hour to complete. Not many elevation changes so it isn't overly challenging. I'll have to give the Meadow Trail (blue arrows) a try the next time I visit.
02 February 2020 22:50
We live near the Karst and have enjoyed going there for years. We have been geocaching, run through with my running group, taking friends from out of town, had a photo shoot there and picked up garbage on Earth Day. Great place to go with the family or the dogs.
18 December 2019 22:25
Good for walk. Not good with strollers. Not a picnic area. Lices and ticks warning all over the park.
18 December 2019 17:09
An awesome place for a relaxed walk. There are lots of information signs along the trails to peak your interest, and the trails are mostly easy. The trails are well maintained and it's very tranquil despite being surrounded by roadways.
12 December 2019 15:37
The trails are well maintained. The drive is not far from the city. There is a lots of variety of trails to chose from short to long. Forest to feilds. The maps along the trails help you decide. There are interesting land features to explore. It's great for younger kids ours are 5 and 4 and have a great time.
22 November 2019 14:50
Great hiking spot for kids. Not too hilly. And the loop is easy to do. You can manage it with a jogging stroller. I love the meadow walk. There are some wild apple trees as a treat along the trail. The karsts are cool to understand.
20 October 2019 17:49
Good park for a walk. Nice views. It does need some upkeep on some of the trails but otherise good. There are cabes and if you are brave and prepared you can explore them. There are signs warning about ticks so come prepared if you go off trail.
13 October 2019 6:53
Great place for A walk in nature. Interesting sights to see and if adventurous you can explore some of the caves. Fairly flat walks with minimal difficulty. Lots of trails are accessible for people with disabilities. Maps are available at the trail head. Cell phone reception is available in the entire park with no dead spots, except in the cave of course. Parking lot is a pay parking area. $5.00 for the entire day with payment in coins or credit, no debit or bills acepted. You must pay the $5.00 no matter when you show up. The park does close at sunset so make sure you leave by then.
02 October 2019 6:57
Very nice work an interesting caves and lovely people also. I have no problem with it but there are a lot of people walking their dogs without leash but I never had a problem. Washrooms are the cleanest but the beauty of the park makes up for it also avoid starting walks near dusk or night time because there are coyotes in the area
01 October 2019 5:10
Just a simple place to go for a walk. Nothing really to see, despite us trying to peak into all places marked on their map. Very underwhelming. When we went in August, the water was all dried up. Warning for dense ticks population and poison ivy. All in all takes about 1-2 hours to walk all the main trails. Parking $5.
29 September 2019 9:20
Fantastic area for hiking biking or running in the middle of the city basically. Well laid out well-maintained lots of choices for longer or shorter hikes most loop back to the start
21 September 2019 0:09
So I went here expecting caves, even though I knew there weren't many, and even though there was basically only kind of one, it was still cool. The walk alone is really nice, the one thing I will say negative is the signs in the park, it makes it so hard to navigate through and find the "caves" so take a picture of the map when you get there. The one cave I believe it's called Nexus is actually pretty cool, it's very tight and small but you can crawl through it for 10-30 minutes. So don't expect a lot, but definitely check out the Nexus cave if you're into spelunking.
10 September 2019 21:11
There are much more interesting places to visit in the area than this. Any number of falls are better.
04 September 2019 18:16
Overall this is an excellenr place to walk if it's by your house, The trail features some caves, and trees as well. Quite average for a conservation area.
01 September 2019 6:11
It was okay. The maps and signage made it so difficult to navigate which trail was which! We were so confused and settled with going in loops.
31 August 2019 20:19
Beautiful, nice sized trail to take your dog on. Bugs are the only problem. Wear mosquito repellent!
28 August 2019 18:48
A lovely short hike but despite having a map, it's quite confusing. The signposts are misleading but still a lovely place to visit.
27 August 2019 15:05
Nothing here is spectacular, but it's a great introduction to karst geology, and there's a lovely forest for a peaceful walk.
11 August 2019 13:39
After this trail, I plucked 40 ticks off my dog. My friend had 4 on her, and even found one in her hair. It’s a nice, scenic, dynamic trail but seriously not worth the trouble and infestation. Spent hours cleaning my clothes, linens, and plucking, washing my dog. AVOID THIS TRAIL!
16 July 2019 10:43
Nice trails. Met some cool people. Nice sinks & caves. Nice swallows. Mosquitos were very friendly too

June 2019 warning - we have found 5 ticks (so far) on the children a couple hours after getting home. I cant see any on the dog but he has thick fur ticks are bad right now.

Next morning we found 4 more (on a kid, on a dog & 2 in my bed on my bf)

BEWARE THE TICKS!
