Escarpment Pet Retreat

We have used Escarpment Pet Retreat for both our pooches now. I am really impressed with their professionalism and obvious love for my fur babies. Our most current visit was for our 1 year old Boxer/Ridgeback mix and when I picked him up he was calm and happy. This definitely speaks to his comfort in being there.
Further, someone called within 48 hours to follow up on how our doggo was doing, and if there was any concerns.

I highly recommend these awesome peeps!

We love Escarpment Pet Retreat. Our Mini Aussie Remi has been going there since he was a puppy, he is now 6. We cannot recommend them enough. Remi has extreme separation anxiety and is never left alone. But, he is excited once he sees us pulling up their driveway, and is happy as can be when we pick him up. If I could give 10/5 stars I would. We drive from Georgetown because they are the only people other than family we will trust with our beloved fur baby! You won’t be disappointed!
Must add pick up some of their farm fresh eggs. They are outstanding.

Perfect place to board your dog. What makes this place different from others is, they accept all types of dogs with all types of behavioral skills. Most boarding facilities want to do an "assessment" prior to boarding. And if the dog doesn't fit in, they don't accept them. This will lead you to be very stressed out if you need to board your dog. So that was a plus on my end. The team here is very welcoming and friendly, which makes it very easy for your dog to adapt. Definitely recommend.

We had our senior little dog groomed here this week. I can't say enough about the staff and their love for animals and the care they provide while grooming. This was our first time, but definitely not our last. Wish we found them sooner. Thank you to all the staff.

First time leaving my 3 year old shih poo for a week and all I can say is THANK YOU! Thank you for taking my dog on short notice, thank you for taking great care of him, thank you for sending us pictures and updates while we were on our trip! Amazing location, friendly staff.if I could I would give you 100 stars!

Escarpment was kind compassionate and flexible at Christmas Time!

It's a crazy story! In short my brother's roommate abandons the cat Leaf. My brother begins taking care of the cat but two days later (ish) has a medical emergency and is in the hospital. What is more! It's two weeks before Christmas and every cat boarding operation in the city is full! I have my dog and am boarding a friend's dog. Oh and did I mention, cat is a kitten still with seperation anxiety. What a pickle!

Escarpment comes through for the win! They come to the city, pick up Leaf the cat, care for her while my brother was in the hospital AND over Christmas! Send photos, texts and daily updates on how Leaf is doing Then drive her back to the city like the princess she is!

All of this while dealing with me; I must admit I was stressed out, and erratic. I likely made their job much more difficult. They were kind. They were human. I cannot thank them enough. They will be my great customer service story for years to come.

My dog Echo loves Escarpment Pet Retreat regardless if he’s there for daycare or boarding. Staff is extremely friendly and I know my dog is well taken care of while under their supervision.

We had both our adult dog and kitten stay at Escarpment Pet Retreat recently. The staff were very friendly and helpful before and after their stay and provided us with updates while we were away. Both of our fur babies were happy and content during their stay.

Great boarding place for your pets. They really care and we found that our 2 dogs received the attention and care they deserve. Highly recommend.

I’m so grateful for Escarpment Pet Retreat! I would strongly recommend this kennel to anyone. The setting and drive up is gorgeous. I take my rescue husky Sadie here almost every month for a weekend while I do my Masters degree and when I go on trips and I know she is always taken such good care of. The staff are so kind, professional and communicative. They are patient and understanding that she can be fussy sometimes. The facility is clean and well kept. Sadie is always returned to me clean, happy and calm. The staff also clearly articulate important things like how common it is for dogs to pick up bordetella/kennel cough etc while in congregate settings and this is just something all dog owners should be aware of and accept about kennels and is not a reflection of the kennels practices. I appreciate that this facility does not socialize the dogs together which is just safer and easier for the dogs, staff and owners piece of mind. Thank you thank you! My dog Benny just came back from his first boarding experience at Escarpment Pet Retreat and he seems to have absolutely loved his time there. The entire booking experience was great. As this was my first time boarding my dog, I had a few questions and Tom was so kind, patient and helpful - answering all my questions over the phone to ensure the booking process was easy for me.

They also offer pickup and drop off for an additional fee which I found so convenient, and they were punctual for both pick up and drop off.

I am so happy I found somewhere close to home that I feel comfortable leaving my dog. Benny will definitely be back!

Rocky has been going to Escarpment Pet Retreat for the past 3 years everytime we go away on vacation. He loves the people that work there and is so happy when he's dropped off at a spa. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I had tried several doggy daycares for my Mastiffx, Moose, and all ended in extreme disappointment. I was never able to drop him off and "feel good" about leaving him. That all changed when I discovered Escarpment Pet Retreat, and Mindy. It is located farther than the others, but DO NOT CARE, the drive is more than worth it. I drop off my Moose and leave there knowing he is the happiest dog because he gets to spend the day with his beloved Mindy! She is remarkable with Moose and loves him like her own. That in itself, makes Escarpment Pet Retreat the best around!

Both our cat Bear and dog Koki and former beloved cat Meeko have been clients at Escarpment Pet Retreat for many years and they love it.

The facility is top notch and the staff are experienced and wonderful. We never worry about leaving the pets there.

We are hoping that one day that our cat & dog will get along so we can enjoy the scenic drive up Guelph line.

I have been taking my dog here for a few years now s he is always excited to go and he gets excited when he sees the girls coming to take for his stay. The staff has always treated him extremely well they are always very friendly and have always given updates on Marlie when I have picked him up. Definitely recommend taking your your pet to Escarpment Pet Retreat.

I have been coming here for well over a year now exclusively for boarding my dog. The facility is top notch by being very clean and providing you with a variety of boarding packages to choose from, all of which are priced fairly. The staff are not only professional, they are warm and friendly as well. My dog is always excited to come here which tells me that the staff at Escarpment Pet Retreat is doing it right!

I take all five of my beloved pets, I have two senior cats, and a senior dog who’s needs are always met. The staff there is super understanding of my concerns and always make sure to give me a full run throughout their stay at pick up. All my boys come home tired and happy from their stay. I trust this kennel.

It was great. I needed to get my puppy clipped, and they came through for me very last minute. Great service and a great job.

My dogs love coming here for daycare and always come home pooched from all the fun they had.

The team is always great at squeezing us in when I forget to book them in until the very last minute!

Our two pups stayed overnight last weekend and came back tired-which is always a great sign. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facility seemed new and clean.

If you love your pet DO NOT LEAVE THEM HERE. The property sells it and you think your dog will be spending time walking through the fields and spending time out by the pond etc Well reality is that they leave your dog in a kennel apx 4x4 ft … their “outdoor patio” is maybe 5x5ft … the dogs are terrified and NOT HAPPY! PLEASE ASK FOR A TOUR OF THE WHOLE FACILITY SO YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF! The dogs are not “walked” but let out for a 30 second joke of a walk. It’s an awful place and I don’t even know how they are aloud to operate. They have a massive property and keep the dogs cooped up. The negative reviews sadly are ALL TRUE. Ps my dog was left in my husbands name before you say you don’t have a client with my name.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED DOGS HERE TRULY HEARTBREAKING….

This place is exactly what they state in name, a pet retreat! My old sweet doggo and now our new large handsome doggo love this place, they are absolutely amazing to your furry companion while they stay there. They spoil them, make sure they are ok, give great updates and you never have to worry while you fur babe stays here! Thank you for being awesome!

I wish I had read the review about kennel cough before we took our dogs here. Given that kennel cough had been reported two weeks prior, I would have expected to be informed of the fact that there were almost certainly infected dogs in the facility. Now I have a very sick dog with previously reported respiratory illness. We would have changed our plans if we had known that there were sick animals in the facility. It’s unfair to us and to our animals not to report active cases. Having said this, the facility have been very responsive to our concerns. We are grateful to them for working to improve their policies toward kennel cough.

We left our cat at Escarpment Pet Retreat for four nights. The staff we dealt with were friendly. But our cat experience was not pleasant at all. When picked him up, the place had a foul stench that was much worst than when we dropped him off. The awful stench attached itself to our cat and his carrier box and we had to clean both immediately upon arrival at home. The cats at this "retreat" are held up in small cages in a small room attached to the front office, In an adjacent room we could hear dozens of dogs continually barking, adding another layer of stress; this is hardly a retreat!

Our cat showed signs of deep stress; during his stay he only consumed about 1/5 of the food we left for him and we left him with his normal daily portions. He was also foaming at the mouth when we picked him up. And now we need to find a vet as he seems to be dealing with some kind of infection: he is lacking energy, sneezing and breathing through the mouth.

Your loved pet is locked up outdoors, listening to other dogs barking which causes anxiety when they can't see where it's coming from. It's basically an outdoor jail.

Dropped a couple dogs off for a weekend while we slipped out of town.

The dogs were well cared for and were very happy on pick up.

Highly recommend.

We do not board our dog often, in his nine years he only boarded a handful of times. As he's not neutered, we had a hard time finding a place as well. He stayed for a week and seemed happy when I picked him up. Staff seemed very nice and the place looked well organized and a great place for pets. Thanks again, we'll definitely have our dog stay again without worry. It's a bit of a drive but worth the piece of mind.

Sketchy Af. We have a reactive dog and advertise on our door to not leave flyers. Doesn’t stop them from coming by and setting the dog off…do they understand how to handle dogs?

Staff were really friendly and observed covid-19 precautions. Looking forward to my next visit.

Absolutely love this place and so does my dog. One place for all our needs from daycare, overnights and grooming! Staff are friendly and my dog loves them!

Recentley Tundra spent 5 days at the Retreat. She loved it there and we thought the staff was marvelous. The bath and brushing were excellent.
We would not hesitate to leave her there again

I had issues with kennels not boarding my german shepherd because she is reactive/aggressive towards people. I was glad to hear Escarpment Pet Retreat had experience and all police canines are welcomed. I was shown around and told of how the kennel is operated, made sure my girl would have outside access without being around other canines. The staff knew exactly how to handle her without her e collar and she was taken care of. I was relieved to hear I didn't need to transition her from raw to kibble for her boarding. If I had any questions, I was emailed shortly afterwards on how her behavior was.

I love the personal care from all the staff and more importantly my golden retriever Shiloh is well taken care of so that I can go on vacation! We have used Escarpment Pet Retreat many times for overnight boarding as well as doggy daycare during the day.

My furry babies can never wait to get there. As an owner of to Rotties it's hard to leave them with anyone. There is so much negativity around rotties. That makes us so scared to leave them. But all the staff see the loving side of Rotties. From the first time I meet the staff I had a great feeling. They dont care that they are rotties. They only care about giving them love, hugs and belly rugs. For the first time I feel safe leaving my babies. The are my world. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work and love.

Absolutely wonderful! I boarded my Cockapoo, Freddie here last week and from the moment I dropped him off, I could tell that he was being taken care of by people who truly care about animals and are not there just "doing a job".

A week later he came back home and looked FABULOUS - his eyes were bright - his coat looked amazing and he was a very happy doggy!

Would definitely recommend - perhaps a little pricier than some boarding kennels but you get more for your money and knowing your furry friend is being taken good care of is priceless!

The team really loves each and every animal that they care for and make them feel safe and secure. As the owner of a very timid and finicky dog, I know I'm leaving her in very good and capable hands. They treat her with a lot of special care and attention; she is never anxious going back! Thank you for such a great and affordable service.

My dog Simba has been here many times. He has always come home happy and tired from his walks. He especially loves to swim in their pond while on his walks.

The staff are always friendly and greet Simba as if he was their own dog.

Will continue to board my dog with them.

Our dog is always cared for as if she was at home, she is walked daily and receives lots of love and cuddles.

I have been boarding my Dogs with Tom at Pet Escarpment for years. This place is top notch. Very professional, the staff is fantastic, very clean environment. By far this is the best boarding facility in Canada. I highly recommend anyone to board their Pet at Pet Escarpment.
