Esquire souvlaki steak & grill Restaurant

I came with my father for some Chicken Souvlaki. We waites for 44 minutes for the food to be prepared, and there was nothing too crazy happening. I know the exact time because we called ahead, and still ended up waiting for three quarters of an hour. I don't think I will ever come again

I ordered two chicken souvlaki plates ahead of time so by the time we get there it will be ready for pick up. I find this place is pretty expensive for the type of food that you’re getting. They are charging restaurant price for meals that are average at best. Especially when you’re picking up you order it should be much cheaper. The food tastes good if you are craving Greek food and you want a quick fix. The other thing that’s pretty inconvenient is that they don’t take any credit. We usually go back to this place because this is the closest option to Greek food that we have.

This place has great food n great service. If you tryna have a great experience, come here.

A good spot for Greek food in Scarborough.

My family and I decided to try this place out for dinner on a Saturday night.

I called ahead and placed an order for 4 Chicken Souvlaki Dinners to save myself some time, but the wait ended up pretty long for takeout on a Saturday night.

The staff were so kind and accommodating on the phone when I asked of the chicken could be packed separately. I also appreciated how generous they were with extra salad dressings.

The food was pretty good, the chicken was cooked well, and the amount of food was got was great! But the rice, potatoes & garlic bread were all pretty dry. I was hoping that all these items would have a bit more flavour to them, so I was a little disappointed.

Overall, its still definitely a great option if you're in Scarborough and have got a craving for Greek Cuisine.

Heads up, this place is cash only

This is the best Greek food in the city. It has been around for decades and the food hasn't changed since Day one. Cash only, always busy, takes forever to get your food but absolutely worth it, huge portions and delicious. Everybody in the area knows the deal.

Great portions. The wait during dinner time was a little long, however, we could see the staff were working as fast as they could to fulfill lots of orders. Got the fish dinner and chickem dinner. For casual Greek food I have no complaints. Would come again.

Quality of service even for gutter fast food standards is abysmal.

Imagine waiting 40 minutes for your hamburger order to be called, only to have the employee dart off elsewhere after calling your name.

I just left without my order.

How the mighty have fallen. What an embarrassment.

Maybe renovate the staff instead of the décor next time.

Discovered it per chance, as I was passing by and looking for a place open and serving food after 2AM. The souvlaki pork and souvlaki chicken dinners were well cooked, fresh and plentiful. Also the salads were fresh. Recommend this place and will certainly come again.

Excellent food and excellent service. Ashley Alvin and chef was very professional. Highly recommend.

The positive is this establishment is open until late, and parking typically isn’t too bad.
Food wise…. Meh… ordered the home style burger with poutine and also tried a souvlaki on a stick.
The meal was surprisingly just warm fur a meal that was just cooked. Perhaps the heat is too high? The outside of the burger patty was well done, with several pieces actually burnt like charcoal, but the inside was barely warm. The bun was cold. The pickles are diner style and pretty tasty. The poutine was not as hot as one would expect. The cheese curds were on the lighter side but there was sufficient gravy poured on top.
The souvlaki, same thing…. Well done on the outside, but barely warm on the inside.
The two guys working were jamming. They were quite busy so maybe that’s why, but for over $20 for a meal, I’d expect better.
There is one flat screen tv in the corner and the tables and chairs are fairly decent to dine on.

Ordered two chicken souvlaki and what I got was chicken charcoal. I called immediately and they promised a refund and the person even said he’d leave a note by the mic for when I return. Went in person a couple days later and no one knew what to do about refund or a replacement. I’ve been going here for atleast 17 years. Their consistency has dropped below acceptable standard. We went back recently and their portion size (not meat) was smaller, rice was underdone. I am almost giving up on this place as I feel like I’m wasting my money on a lesser quality food.

I like that they're open late, but their food is just okay. Nothing to rave about for their chicken or pork souvlaki. They need to fix their rice, potatoes, and tzatzki and put more flavor in their food!

Pork souvlaki dinner still delivers. We forgot we can only pay in cash so we had to walk to the CIBC at the corner of Sheppard and Victoria Park while they cooked the food so we could pay. There was plenty of parking available and enough tables to choose from when we went around 8 pm. The fish dinner is lacking as the fish is frozen and not fresh fish. I would not order that again and go back to the souvlaki options.

Cash only is no big deal. What's important is the food which I found delicious. Ordered the gyros. The tatziki sauce was the best I've tasted in a long time. We can't wait to try the other items on the menu.

A bit of a wait, but well worth it! Great portion sizes, it was my dinner and lunch. The food was amazing, chicken was not dry, rice was tasty and potatoes are so good! Would come back again. We also ordered the Greek fries, that one was ok, would not get again

Girlfriend brought me here 7 years ago. Was a spot i raved about. Living hours away any trip to toronto included a stop here. Came this past week and boy has it gone downhill, increase in price with a huge decrease in quality. Not sure if just a bad day with bad employees (didnt recognize any) but man it sucked.

The food quality has gone down hill the last few years. This used to be the spot. The last 5 times I've gone the potatoes have not been cooked properly and are hard AF. Not cheap either
