Ethel's Lounge

They were rammed at lunch time and service could have been better. You could tell there are lots of regulars who the wait staff enjoy talking with. Food was excellent.

In a world of cookie-cutter chains and trendy, hipster hangouts, Ethel's Lounge remains unique.

I could have gone to Del’s and ate a decent meal vs what I got and what we spent here. It’s hugely over priced for what you get. I have never understood the draw to Ethel’s. Sorry.

Had a great meal with family at their recommendation as they love the place. Great food and atmosphere and great service.

I don't love this place, but I keep going back to their patio. The food is always good. The staff is generally young and efficient. The indoors seems quaint, though I only pass through. I'll return.

I give Ethel’s 0 stars. Management extremely unprofessional. I went in here looking for a part-time job for summer at about 130 pm in the afternoon and was scolded by the manager. She couldn’t seem to handle the 3 patio tables and 1 table inside; even with other staff working. Clearly their staff & management are very unhappy working here. I have been here to eat before and the tacos were not made well with very little inside of them. They overcharge and the meal experience is terrible. I thought they might have grown since I’ve ate there, but I would not recommend Ethel’s to anyone looking for a positive working or meal experience because they put no effort into caring for the patrons that walk through their doors.

No deep fryer, unfortunate for a diner style restaurant. Waiter was alpha and rude but the pulled pork nachos do slap.

Food is decent. Friendliness of staff is very hit or miss (mostly just one girl that I happen to get all the time). Pretty patio!

UPDATED REVIEW. Our Table was completely ignored multiple times.
I convinced my friends to try Ethel's as they wanted to try some else but after a long discussion we went to Ethel's on my recommendation.
Probably had the worst service I ever seen.there is difference between being busy and short staff and being plain ignorant.
Server was talking and checking on all the other tables and our table wasn't even checked once.we only had one round of drinks and got our food order in after asking multiple times.
I saw the server was busy and I know how it feels to work during busy time but at least you can be bit nicer.
Server ignored us, didn't listen to us.it was clear she was more focused on other tables.but it made us feel unwanted and I have never felt that a restaurant.and I have seen pretty slow and bad services but this was embarrassing for me infront of my friends who came to Ethel's for the first time.
I never write bad reviews but this was hands down worst experience I ever had.

Went by last summer for drinks waited 20 minutes or more for a server. Then waited another 30 minutes to actually receive two drinks. Thought maybe just an off day went again this past weekend and waited 20 minutes for a server who wanted to take our order before we had even received a menu. Then sat for another 20 minutes for her to take our order. After waiting another 20 minutes and still no drinks we left.

Great service, food & drinks! Have had good weekend evening get together with friends here often.

Great burgers no fries they don't have a fryer but give you other choices chips and something else. Patio was nice but music when your sitting alone music helps.

Not sure about potato chips as a side, but the brisket sandwich and Caesar drink were good!

Pretty good once even waited for boss to drop off paycheque me to cash it and pay when had very little in acct.food good original waterloo or older not as weird as the new generation things in the area

Took a while to get seated for a group of six, even though they were evidently almost empty at 11: 00pm on a Monday night. However, the drinks came out promptly and the place had a nice vibe, but they closed at 12am even though the hours said that it was open until 1am.

A place for everyone, Gen-Z to Babyboomer and everyone in-between. Maybe some of the Grand Generation will love it too.

The place was wonderful and the service was excellent. My only complaint was the fact that the sauce for the wings was mild at best. I asked for them to make it spicy and they might as well give it to me with nothing at all. Again no disrespect to the chefs and the staff. Just that they need to step up their spice game

Ethel's has been around for a long time for a reason! It's just a comfortable place to be. We usually go for burger Mondays, their burger to me is one of, if not thee best around. Funky Burger FTW!

Very nice patio.good food.awesome weather.getting together with 5 classmates you haven't seen in over 50 years.priceless!
