I have been meaning to write this review for a while and what prompted me to finally do it now is that while counting my 2023 blessings, Carly’s name came up. I am so glad that I finally found such a great talent. Since moving here, it has not been easy to find someone who will understand what I needed (haircut and color) I first went to Exhalo during summer and I was pleasantly surprised with absolutely everything. Carly is really special and will take the time to listen and understand what you need and will execute it even better than you imagined. If any of your New Year resolutions includes taking care of your hair and style, Exhalo is definitely the place to start.

I've been going to Exhalo Kanata since it opened and before that, the Barrhaven location for my hair needs. I'm always thrilled and the one time in over 5+ years where I maybe wasn't completely satisfied, it was rectified immediately so don't ever be afraid to speak up!

My primary stylist is Melanie P and Carly does my daughter's hair. Love the ladies, love the vibe! The owner Tanya is also awesome, a true community-minded, women-empowering force who gives as much as she gets.

Mel L.is the best! I used to be a bit nervous getting my hair cut but since I’ve been going to Mel I know I am in good hands. She is one of the only stylists that sit you down before they wash your hair to discuss what style suits you best. So happy I found her. I've been going to her for many years now.

EVERYTHING about exhālō is incredible! The salon in Kanata is clean, intimate, and has all the details needed to have a relaxing appointment. And ohhh the salt room; so relaxing! Melanie Patience continues to be my stylist after 7+ years and she never disappoints. Her knowledge of styling and colour techniques always leaves me satisfied with my cut and colour. I would recommend this salon and Melanie P in particular without hesitation.

Sarah McLaren is a wonderfully gifted and caring aesthetician who is attentive and provides a relaxing facial experience every time. Highly recommend her services!

Do not recommend for balayage. I had that sinking feeling during the treatment that the final results were not going to look remotely like what I had asked for (not just the colour result, but really the placement. Exhalo advertises and charges for balayage, but it's just foil highlights - there is no proper placement of ribbons, no depth, no backcombing to soften the line and no hand painting/fuller saturation at the tips. The result is as you'd expect - foil highlights that basically start at the root and have little dimension and depth and disappear into the hair overall. Foil highlights are a perfectly reasonable treatment, but not if you're advertising balayage. I loved my stylist - she was super nice - but at $500 (including a generous tip, to be fair) the results just are not what I wanted. I'd go back to get things fixed but I don't think it's fixable to the results I want with the skillset at the spa. So anyway.if you are looking for standard foils, I do recommend. But for an actual balayage. I do not recommend.

I had an extended pedicure with Radhika tonight and it was the best pedicure I’ve had in ages. She’s a wonderfully kind person and she took great care in all aspects of the service. It was an excellent experience.

Sept 2023 update: staff is still as friendly and clean space, and Carly is still super amazing!

Super friendly staff, they were running a bit behind but took the time to call me and let me know ahead of time. I had my hair styled by Carly from the Kanata location. I gave her free reins for a new style and she did an awesome job! And the place was super clean too.

Only place my 15 and 13 year old will go. I love it. Always friendly and professional, and a relaxing atmosphere

I got the gel manicure by Cevyn and it still looks amazing 2 weeks later:) Cevyn was very professional and great at her job. I had my 3 young children with me and Cevyn was so helpful and fast with the application. Will deff be coming back!
