I felt rather mixed about my experience here as it was my first time and most likely my last. When I checked the website I thought it was going to be a relaxing spa and nice quiet place to get a pedicure and relax. While I can’t fault the pedicure, the atmosphere was not for me. Cluttered and noisy and nothing relaxing about the facility. With non-stop chatter, loud workers, constant hair blow dryers and people taking even more loudly over them, I found myself highly irritable leaving after paying 100$ for a pedicure in one of the loudest “spas” I’ve ever been do. The aesthetician who did my pedicure was great, but if you want a calming and relaxing experience maybe look elsewhere.

I went to this spa for a facial a month ago and it was amazing. But unfortunately I can’t say the same about the cleanliness of the spa, the towels and sheets were filthy. They were yellow and stained I think they were originally white but who can tell. I asked if they were clean and she told me they were, the floors, walls, and wax area were so dirty. I was very disappointed because with the cost of the facial I expected it all to be clean at the least. My partner gifted me this facial and needless to say neither of us will be returning. This spa is filthy and not sanitary and for the prices it’s not worth it.

The Swedish massage I received was exceptional from Anna. The atmosphere was serene, and the massage itself was incredibly relaxing. I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. A truly enjoyable experience definitely worth repeating.

Exhalo has quickly become my go-to spot for all of my spa treatments. Shelley is truly amazing at what she does! I will never get a facial anywhere else again. I always leave there feeling like I am floating on a cloud. The best experience always!

Shoddy work, no apology, no refund.

For over 5 years I have been a regular customer (every 10 weeks) of Exhalo in Barrhaven with Natasha, even after moving 50 kilometers away. On August 24 I had an appointment with Natasha at the Barrhaven location to touchup my blond hair at the roots and to add a bit of lowlights in brown underneath. Since I had been going to Natasha from the beginning, I felt I was in good hands. The result was horrible. I had a dark brown line across both sides of my head about 2 inches thick. Before I left Exhalo I asked Natasha about it and she trivialized it and said it would fade after a number of washings. When I joined my husband in the car he immediately said “what happened to your hair? She botched your hair! ”

When I got home, I washed my hair 4 times and the dark line was still there. I called the Barrhaven Exhalo in an attempt to speak with Natasha and the receptionist said that she was busy and that she would call me back. At one point the receptionist rudely even told me to make another appointment in 4 weeks! Natasha never called me back! I emailed Tanya, the manager, with pictures of the damage and she called me the next day. She agreed to attempt to repair the damage with an appointment with another stylist (junior?) the following day. I went back to Exhalo and allowed the stylist to try to fix the damage. She dyed my hair twice but unfortunately; she could not completely fix the problem. Natasha was there but never came over to apologize to me.

The issue is customer service! Natasha made a mistake with my hair but refused to even speak with me about it and refused to fix it. I will not return to Natasha, nor to Exhalo. My hair still has the thick brown lines and I paid $205 for it. I also never got a proper apology, nor a refund for such shoddy work.

Good service. My mom got the AVEDA Foot Relief Pedicure with Paraffin Hand and Foot Treatment & Hot Stone Foot Massage with Cevyn Ehrenholz. It was done very well left her feet and hands looking super soft and moisturized.

I also tried the Natural Retinol Radiance Facial, with rejuvenating Gold Eye Mask and LED Light Therapy with Hailley Charette. Hailey did a complimentary back scrub and massaged by back, arms and neck. It was so relaxing, well worth the money spent. My skin texture felt great and there was visible reduction in redness and inflammation. I have plenty of acne scarring from previous breakouts. Highly recommend.

Madonna is my go to lady for all my waxing needs! She is so friendly, professional and completely judgment free. I’ve been seeing her for almost 2 years, wouldn’t trust hair removal with anyone else. You’re the best Madonna:)

Sonia has been cutting both my girls hair for years and cannot say enough about how awesome she is! She listens to their requests and always gives them just the right cut! Highly recommend

Visited Kimberly M. A fantastic artist (stylist)! I have extremely fine hair. She gave it a really nice shape, that I can work with on my own as well. Gave it a rich colour too. Highly recommend!

The receptionists were very friendly when I came in and even gave me hot chocolate! I went there for the Swedish massage with Shelley and definitely left there blissful and calm minded. It is safe to say this place deserves 5 stars:)

I just want to give a shout out to Exhalo and Sonia! I went to a different salon last week and had a color job that went wrong. I had mucky brown hair and I was devastated. I struggle with trichotillomania and worked so hard to grow out my hair to get it done and it was ruined. To go to a salon is a HUGE anxiety trigger for me. I always feel judged.

I went to see Sonia today to get my hair to how I wanted it, blonde. Not mucky brown.

I can't say enough good things, the atmosphere was amazing, everyone was so kind and I was so comfortable. The best part, is my hair is the way I wanted it and envisioned it. I was never made to feel "weird" because of my missing hair, and my super fine baby hairs.

Thanks so much Exhalo, and Sonia, for the experience today. It's been a long time since I have not wanted to cry in a hairdressers chair, you made my whole day and I can't be any happier.

I was looking for a hairstylist/spa close to home and came across exhalo. The spa is great and the staff are all wonderful and so friendly regardless of the services I’ve booked.

Mary is my hairstylist and she is amazing! She is super sweet, honest and has so much knowledge and experience. My hair feels much healthier and fuller since she started doing my hair and I’m so glad I found her. My husband booked me a spa day and he picked the perfect place. Sarah was amazing and so friendly. She did a massage, mani and pedi and I love it. Carley cut my hair and she did an amazing job. I love my cut and I love that the spa donates my cut hair for me. Definitely going back.

Very disappointed. I was 10 minutes late and absolutely no room to accept a customer who is a little behind schedule when things can happen on the road. Mary said I should have called but I was driving and couldn’t have called to say I was a bit behind. You should allow a bit of leeway in between appointments. I drove all the way here for nothing. I was in the plaza already but I need to park the car and walk in. This zero late tolerance is extremely mind raging. I will not come back here again. The service at the reception is also very bad. There is no greeting whatsoever. This place is way overrated for what it deserves to get. You make clients wait when you are busy with other clients who took a longer appointment and yet you have no tolerance to wait for a customer who is 10 mins late. This double standard policy is absolutely unacceptable.

First time visit for mani/pedi.excellent service.very friendly professional staff.definitely will be returning to experience other services offered. Felt very pampered.

Mary did my hair yesterday and I had a great experience. As Mary would say "my wisdom" was showing and she completely covered it and noticed that my ends were dry and offered a treatment for my hair as well. In conversation Mary listened to how I like to style my hair and when the time came to cutting it, she cut it and styled it perfectly.
I would highly recommend Mary at Exhalo she is a professional and takes pride in making her clients look their best.

I got my hair done by Mary today and had a great experience. I came in with very dry hair and she had it cut and styled beautifully by the time she was finished. She quickly figured out what I was looking for and had my hair completely refreshed. I have a lot of hair and it's fairly thick, she knew exactly what to do with it! I'll definitely go back to her again and look forward to exploring some of the other services available at exhalo.

Everytime I get a Brazillian sugar wax with Anna I swear my vagina starts singing Soft Kitty in Portuguese (Gatinho Fofo fyi) as a beautiful South American woman would. Anna is thorough, professional, kind and lovely! My boyfriend also gives her a 5/5 on her handiwork.

Sonia Poliquin is AMAZING! If you are in Barrhaven and need your hair cut, coloured or well anything - go see Sonia! My kids love her - she is so patient and friendly with them. She’s great to chat with and she knows hair! I would leave more stars if I could!

Great salon, professional, friendly staff. First went there to get a haircut. Lana gave me the best 'bob' cut for fine hair that ive had in years. My daughter has hard to manage 'wirey' hair and Lana managed to 'tame' it also. Excellent stylist. Then an English lady at reception took the time to explain how their nail products would allow my nails to 'breathe' and repair after using gel for too long. Booked an appointment with Hailey and.presto, three months later my nails are strong again. Shelley also very good. Products are more expensive but so worth it and all the staff take such care and pride in their work. Will only go to this salon now and highly recommend it to all.

I recently treated myself to a promotion that Exhalo Spa offered and let me tell you that it was such a wonderful treat! I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff that started me off with a tea to enjoy in the salt room before my facial. The aestheticians go the extra mile to pamper you leaving you feeling wonderful. I have been having issues with my hair for over 6 months and the staff knew exactly what treatment I needed and got rid of months of residue. Carly was super friendly and professional, will visit here again. I also loved all the small business items showcased at the front of the store.

I have been sugared at various spas in the past and have never had issues. I went to Exhalo for the first time as I needed a last minute appointment and received the worst sugaring I have ever gotten. It seemed rushed, hairs were missed, and I've never had so many ingrowns so quickly during the following growout weeks. Will definitely be avoiding Exhalo in the future.

As a person who has received a great many massages, I can confidently say that Shelley gave me the best massage that I've ever had! She has magic fingers! I will be a repeat customer!

I had my makeup done a few weeks ago by Madonna at exhalo and she did an awesome job! I loved loved the way my makeup turned out. She chose the right colours that complimented my colouring and skin texture. I would go back to her again the next time I need my makeup done.

Back to see Natasha for highlights and haircut! As always, service is great. The highlights turned out wonderfully!

I went yesterday for highlights and a cut. Poor Kirsten LOL. I started with ‘I know hair stylists hate hearing this BUT I’m not sure what I want’. All I knew was I wanted something different. She was a rock star! With blond highlights and a beautiful new style she captured my vision beautifully. Kirsten was professional, funny, and just made it an amazing experience. Heidi is such a wonderful person to have rip hair out of your lady bits. She has a funny personality, very friendly. It really helps take your mind off of the uncomfortable situation at hand.

First time here and I booked a haircut, blow-dry and deep conditioning treatment with Bonita! She was great and knew how to layer and treat my curly hair. My boyfriend really loves my hair and can't stop looking at me haha. All the staff are friendly and personable. I'll definitely be back!

Hailley did my back waxing & she was super gentle. They charged me like 20% of the original amount since I had really fine hair. This was a surprise since everyone always charged me full before. Bonita colored my hair. I went for a blow dry & changed my mind last minute but she was very nice and arranged for the color routine right away. The girls at the reception were very polite and friendly. This was my first visit but definitely not the last one. Highly recommended!

I went in for eyelash extensions with Awara, I don't have much to work with on my own but she was actually able to make it look like I had lashes. I am happy with the results. I will definitely be returning for other services!

I am a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy treatment and today I went for some of the Oncology Services with Csilla. I would highly recommend these services to others as Csilla was very knowledgeable about the special needs I have as a cancer patient. She asked me all the right questions without making me feel uncomfortable. I’ve been having skin breakouts with chemo and she helped me find products that are suitable for my skin. I felt very comfortable and supported as Csilla was able to respond to my body’s needs during the massage. The spa itself was very clean and had good Covid protocols in place. All staff were lovely.

Mary does a fantastic job with my colour. I highly recommend going to see her. She's definitely a colour expert. On top of that, she's so friendly and kind. It's always a treat to get my hair done at exhalo.

I took my daughter for her very first haircut last week. She is four and loves her long hair but it needed a trim. Our stylist was kind and easy going and made my daughter feel very comfortable. We will be back for her next cut:)
