I wish I had read the reviews before driving 24 minutes to this store yesterday. I visited this location for the first time yesterday, and agree that the customer service was very bad. No greeting or eye contact from any employee when entering or walking through the store, and all of them standing around having conversations with each other instead of helping customers. Not sure if the assumption is that everyone who visits the store already knows where to find everything, but I had to interrupt a conversation between two staff to get assistance (I wanted to know where the satin fabric was, and clarification on the pricing.) As a first time fabric shopper, it also would’ve been nice if the staff explained the difference in the selections of satin they had, as the pricing was different. I will not be returning to this store.

The store itself is pretty organized. The customer service is horrible. The personnel was very rude.

Not usually a fan of being called incompetent.so wasn’t happy when your employee Gina did so. I asked her where the blackout fabric was. She told me to ask the girl at the front cash. I told her that another employee told me to ask her. She rolled her eyes & pointed at the corner of the store & said “it’s there”. I asked “which section exactly? ” Do you know what she said to me? She said “if you don’t know why you have membership? Are you a tailor or something? It says blackout so if you don’t know why you have a membership? ”. I said “Excuse me did you really just say that to me? What’s your name I don’t see it anywhere”She told me her name is Maria (yeah right) which I found out was actually Gina. Obviously she knows what she said was WRONG.why else would she lie? Just terrible. You’re terrible to have said that to me Gina. Fortunately, another woman (with great hair!) named Lisa came to the rescue. She was incredibly helpful, sweet and went out of her way to help me. She said even called another store for me to find out if they had something I was looking for. Thank you Lisa bc if it wasn’t for you, I would have left there feeling awful. Oh how I wish Lisa worked at the Woodbridge location.everyone there is awesome when I go. Will not be returning to this Dufferin/Steeles location.

I went for sewing machine needles. I think the place was big and organized.
I wasn't there for too long to go into more detail.
I take one star because even though I was cheerful and polite, the cashier seemed disinterested towards my pleasantries.

Terrible customer service from both cashier and store manager at this store. I will try to avoid visiting this store in the future.

We received such a horrible behaviour from the store manager. He was not interested in listening to our question and he belittled us.

Also, it seemed that some argument took place at the back of the store between a cashier and the store manager before the manager came out to speak with us. Customers should not be mistreated because of internal friction and arguments between store employees. This is so wrong.

Well I'm going to have to agree with Jenny below and a few others that have given bad reviews. And if we do it's because it is deserved. We went in to look for fabric to cover carpeting on a floor. We looked around for a while and you could see we were confused. We had a man and woman associate near us hearing us saying we were confused and needing help and not one of them came over to offer help. In fact, when we asked a question to the woman especially (who, by the way didn't even look like she worked there) was so non- complacent and looked like we were bothering her and like she loathed being there. So we finally went over with a fabric to the table. And get this, there was a woman we went to see at the table. As we start explaining our situation and if she thought this material could work, another 2 employees came over to hear our story and the three of them stared at us like we were from outer space. And when we asked questions, not one of them answered it was like we were speaking a different language. In the end, after 2 people calculated, they said there was not enough material. Basically it looked like we were disturbing their busy work (sarcastic of course) and they wanted us to leave. Left and never went back and don't plan on going back. Unless you can do your own picking, cutting and measuring and have no questions, I would not go to this place. If you don't like your job, maybe find another place to work. Somewhere where there is no client interaction.

I went to this location On Jun 2nd one of the salesperson was not helpful and she was also moody. She has long grey hair she was kitchen curtain area. I reported it to cashier I hope the cashier passed the message to the owner.

The worse customer service. They don’t help when you are on the store and it is impossible to reach them if the phone.

I went to Fabricland to buy some stuff for sewing. I went in, left my bag on the counter, while I was choosing the colour for the fabric, and the salesperson asked me to remove my bag from the desk.

Before I could remove my bag, she asked me to leave. I couldn't leave, because I didn't buy what I came in for yet.

I asked to speak to the supervisor. A man came in, pretending to be the supervisor. When I asked for his name, he refused to give it. When I asked again, he mocked me childishly. Eventually, I told him that if he's the manager, he's obligated by law to give me his name.

He gave me what seemed like a fake one: Rebecca David.

After it was obvious that he wasn't the manager, I asked him to see the store manager. When the store manager came, I started complaining about his employee, and the manager asked me to leave the store.

It boggled my mind that he would speak like this to a customer. I asked this "manager" for his name - he also refused to give it, saying that people are giving him really bad reviews for his store.and him personally.

I was so upset, I left the store without any purchases, and from the parking lot, I called the head office. Nobody answered the phone, so I left a message, explaining the situation, and a request for a call back.

That was the beginning of February. Today is March 1, and I have yet to receive a call back.

Stay away from this store, to avoid unpleasant shopping experience, and rudeness against you.

This was my first time at fabricland; I came to prepare for my wedding and I left after being absolutely belittled by the staff. Why is the store operated with such little efficiency? Where are descriptions of how this business works? Or the measurements? Why are the staff so understaffed and unmotivated which in turn are making them rude to the customers? They talked about how the other location got covid in front of us freely and how frustrated they were. Clearly this is a problem to be addressed at a higher level.

The associate who took my phone inquiry was super helpful. However when I arrived at the store the reception was rather distasteful.
I asked where to find grommets and the associate didn't speak English. I spelled the word for her but she didn't understand. She only knew Russian and pointed me to another very rude and abnoxiois associate. I asked if she could tell me where to find grommets she looked me up and down then in an hostile tone told me she was busy with a customer and that I should wait. I waited 5 minutes and she made no effort to answer. I walked to the center of the store and yelled for assistance in finding grommets. Thats when a very sweet lady came over and pointed to the drapery end of the store. I can't thank her enough. This location deserves 0 stars!

Very good place to find all your fabric and home decor needs. They also have patterns and art and craft supplies. Their sales are pretty good, specialty if you have the membership card.

I will no longer be shopping at this location, the customer service was terrible. The lady cutting the fabric for us today, made my daughter cry. My daughter was interested in making a skirt. When we asked if we could see how much 5 m of fabric looked like so we could decided if we needed more for the type of skirt she was making.the lady decided to take the opportunity to belittle her as well as myself for not knowing how much we needed on the spot. She gave a very condescending lecture in front of other customers and went on and on. At one point she finally looked up to see tears in my daughters eyes and realized her inappropriateness. I wonder if it made her feel good inside to mistreat myself and my daughter over a polite question and asking nicely.

I did not wish to stoop to her level in the store and go toe to toe with her asking her to tone it down, so as I left the store I called the manger. This conversation went as follows. I was told that particular employee was going through something and must be having a bad day. She did apologize on her behalf and did say it was in no way any excuse for her behaviour, however my daughter and myself should have some empathy and understand this particular employee's situation. (Had the employee just said to us that she was having a moment we would have kindly understood)
I then explained to the manger that my daughter too was going through something and that was the reason I was in the STORE was to buy some Tulle so she could make a skirt for herself. The manger did not display any empathy towards us nor did she particularly want to hear what we were going through at all. All in all a terrible experience and I spent the rest of the afternoon explaining to my daughter that such is life and people are just going to behave badly sometimes but there is no reason for us to stoop to their level. The manager told me I should have dealt with the lady then and there.more lecturing. That is not my style nor my job. Shame on this store, shame on the employee just shame. WE are all going through stuff in life it does not mean that a customer needs to be on the receiving end of poor treatment and lectures from a manager. Maybe they should have been empathetic to what my daughter was going through. How about that.

I will no longer be shopping at this location and neither will any of her sewing friends or school.

My experience here was awful. The cashier was unable to complete an exchange and I had to deal with the rude, unempethatic, and disrespectful manager. He refused to exchange a product because the product I wanted to exchange it with was 10 cents CHEAPER. He did not apologize for it or put any effort whatsoever into helping me at all.

Fabricland is a magic place for people who loves craft. There is a huge selection of fabric, threats, embroidery, table covers. Staff is very pleasant and ready to help with right idea.

They always have the exact fabric I need for my project. They have a giant selection of both fabrics and notions. I never leave without finding exactly what I need and often a few extra items!

Horrible customer services, fabric sales woman E. Very rude. Hey E! Who is the customer? Who is employee? It really doesn't make any sense for me. Why customer does your work by your order? Why should I clean up on the floor all the mess someone made! I think clean up or customer services is your job! I never ever seen the sales rep.like you E
in my all life. E never gave me any help what I want to buy there. It was very shock to me. Think about your attitude, you would be remember what I am saying.
