Fabricland - Home Decor Centre

I love shopping for fabric. This store has so much to choose from, I end up looking for a couple of hours before I can decide what I want.

Needs to update policy on returns / exchanges.

I was told today when I went to return some fabric “That’s not my problem” (complete with a smirk). I guess employee 1 thought she was being clever?

I was then told by another employee (#2) that they don’t do returns on fabric. I pointed out that the bill says otherwise, and was immediately told by a third employee that “only pre-done / pre-packaged items are refundable”.

They argued the fact that the fabric was measured. I pointed out it was the end of the roll, and not measured to cut. It wasn’t altered in any way. (Isn’t all fabric measured?)

2nd employee said to refund it “this time”. Well don’t worry, there’s plenty of other fabric places along Ottawa St N to visit, and while they may not refund either, at least they won’t give me attitude like the first girl did today.

2 stars because they did refund, but seriously, make better notices on your invoices / receipts. Just say “NO REFUNDS on opened fabric”.

Simple solution, then I wouldn’t of bought the stuff I did yesterday in the first place since it was the wrong size. (Girl it would be about an inch short, it was 4 inches short, hence the entire reason for the return.)

I have recently gotten back into the hobby of sewing. And looking at making my own wedding dress for my wedding next year.

Fabricland has the selection of fabrics I need to make a wedding dress for myself.

Be prepared to pay for parking at $1/hr or $6/day

Excellent customer service. I was greeted warmly and the service staff took the time to figure out what I needed. Made my morning!

The absolute worst shopping experience I’ve ever had. The staff are beyond rude and unhelpful. They misplaced 10 packs of curtains in a bin indicating a certain price and wouldn’t honour it at cash or kindly explain their hands are tied. They wouldn’t even apologize for the mistake. They kept asking us hypothetical questions about the situation and being unnecessarily mean. I work in customer service so I am never rude because I know that won’t get you anywhere! Even with a kind tone, every single lady was rude right from the get go.

It’s not even the price difference, it was the fact they deliberately did not want to help come to a solution OR kindly explain they can’t do anything! Some of the rudest people I have ever spoken to, not just in a retail setting. Unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour.

Staff helped me find exactly what I needed. Bought more then what I went in for after seeing some great deals.

This is a really good place it is not that expasvie and has really nice stuff thank you guys so much and hope you guys open soon because I miss your stuff and I am going to go there soon as you open

This place is THE best. I have to thank all of the kind and patient women who helped me choose fabrics and consulted me on my projects. Fabricland also has the best prices on everything you need for sewing. Their competitive pricing is absolutely unbelievable. Keep your eyes out for their specials, they are amazing! Everytime I go here, everything I need is always on sale and it makes me feel so blessed. HIGHly recommend this place if you love smoking a sweet joint and picking out some awesome fabrics at an amazing price. Best of luck on your sewing projects!

Place had a musty smell. No Pfaff bobbins. Fabric and remnants. No one there is going to win a congeniality award.

Always helpful, love this store on Ottawa street. I was able to find NWPP (non woven polypropylene) for the masks I sew.

Not very helpful no greetings they just stand at the counter talking to each other waiting for a customer to call them to be served

My wife and I went to Fabricland on Ottawa St.in Hamilton and it was one of our worst shopping experiences yet. Terrible service and would never recommend this store.

Employee quoted me limits on items that were contrary to the posted signs. She did not verify or apologize.

Fabric Land Ottawa Street! Best place ever for a true sewing beginner! The staff in this store are absolutely amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful.

Great advice on sewing techniques, fabric and even which thread to buy! Who knew you had to have different thread for different fabrics and different sewing machine needles too!

I was dreading going into the store, being a male, never sewn before in my life, I was thinking they'd just pacify me and send me on my way, but no, the lady was interested in what I was making, offered advice, what fabric went with what and what not to try and sew together. Fantastic! Now I've made out door cushions for my garden furniture! Admittedly it's taken me a month to do it but I've saved over $300 having a go myself!

I'm now feeling confident to re-cover my dining chairs! I think this may take a while so it will give me something to do over winter while it's snowing outside!

It was alright.customers not following social distancing doesn't make me a happy shopper.too many people shopping for my liking but good for their business.

Little disappointed, with the lack of good fabric designs, and choices they had for the size of their large store. Pricing a little on high side, unless you wait for them to go on sale. Still glad they have a large store to shop at as not to many fabric stores around anymore. Other fabric stores on that same block that are good and l recommend you should check out.

The only place to shop for fabric, notions etc in the area. Unfortunately they usually seem to be sold out of the size zipper I'm looking for. Would hope they'd have always have full stock considering how many sewers rely on them.

The lady who helped us was very helpful and friendly. Staffs in Fabricland are always very nice and helpful. That's why even though there is a fabric store where we parked n another one across the street, we chose to walk further down the road to good old Fabricland. Keep it up!

Went looking for a particular frabric, we were on a mission. Walked into this store and found more than we bargained on.they had everything and more. We spent over an hour looking at everything even though we had already found what we wanted.

This location is the best one in hamilton the other ones don’t have as nice of stuff the lady who works here talks a lot.

Expensive, not very friendly, and 0 air circulation! After 10 min in the store, a few of us were ready to pass out
