J'adore aller faire un tour au Château pendant la période des fêtes pour aller voir leurs décorations.

Divine holiday atmosphere, afternoon tea, Christmas music. All splendid. Gym well equipped. Rooms could use some upgrade but very comfortable, clean, and spacious.

My recent stay at this hotel left me with mixed feelings. Let's start with the positives – the location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic. Nestled in a picturesque area, the exterior of the hotel is nothing short of breathtaking. The surroundings were serene, and the ambiance was truly delightful.

However, my experience took a nosedive from there. First and foremost, the parking situation was a major disappointment. The exorbitant parking fees left a sour taste, especially considering the already high room rates. It felt like an unnecessary additional expense, which significantly impacted my overall impression of the stay.

Moving on to the rooms, I can't help but express my disappointment. For a place with such a stunning facade, the interior was surprisingly lackluster. The room felt ordinary, lacking the charm and character I expected from a hotel of this caliber.

Never going back, the magic is gone. The air did not work well and the parking is nonexistent. They asked us to park in indigo parking, and when my husband went back to pick up the car on Sunday, they were closed and he could not access the parking. A scramble ensued for way to long and we finally got out of there. The restaurant, although good, especially for breakfast, way to pricy for a family. The bed mattress was very uncomfortable and hard. On top of that, bring your chargers because they only had one plug in and it was away from the beds. Never coming back and trying something else next time.

Une bâtisse exceptionnelle, un emplacement parfait, une chambre très spacieuse et avec une très belle vue …. Mais hôtel vieillissant linge de chambre également, et vitre sale! T

I recently attended a one-day event at the Fairmont Chateau, and I must say that the venue itself was very impressive. The luxurious atmosphere of the hotel left a strong first impression. However, my experience with the valet service left something to be desired. Despite waiting for 15 minutes to retrieve my car, I noticed others being served more promptly. When I approached the valet for information, he seemed unaware of my car's location, which was a bit frustrating.

Despite this minor hiccup, the hotel staff inside the venue were exceptional. They were attentive and eager to assist throughout the event, making the overall experience quite enjoyable. While I didn't stay overnight, the Fairmont Chateau's grandeur and the helpfulness of its staff certainly left a positive mark on my day at the event.

Amazing quality of traditional hotel. Alas they have an annoying habit of mischarging guests at the minibar.my advice is Don t touch anything there as they just gouge the inattentive!

Excellent, traditional and distinguished feature by the Rideau Canal and Parliament Hill.
Short walk to the Byward market. Best location.

My biggest issue right now is for whatever reason, YouTube kid’s doesn’t work on the hotel’s wifi and whenever I click the “learn more link” it chalks it up to us being on wifi in Quebec? Maybe the ISP is sourcing the internet from the other side of the river? It’s really frustrating for our 2 and 5 year old kids.

What a great weekend! Obviously the stay is a bit pricey, but unlike some other institutions over the pandemic, you are getting value (eg.service) for your money. It was not too difficult to get pool reservations. I had an interesting mixed experience at Zoe's. The service for the Afternoon Tea was actually a bit on the slow side, particularly with how few people were there. Now, on the other hand, evening drinks while we were deciding what to do that night turned into sloppy drunk and eat everything on the menu night. Our service was excellent and the beer flowed like wine. The bar staff were pros and could definitely mix you any fancy cocktail your heart desired. I relented and tried the "gimicky" smoked cocktail and let me tell you, I was shocked at its persistence and presence. It almost completely changed the flavour profile! The ambiance and decor just made you feel like royalty and the service was positively divine. I may have fallen in love.

Parking is a huge issue, which wasn't a great start to the trip. Then we went inside and waited a long time to check in, and there was only 1 staff member working the desk at their peak check-in time. The hotel is obviously dated. It is a good experience to stay there but there are a few things that can be changed to elevate the overall experience.

I actually lived here for a few weeks as a child. My parents were hosting a national convention in Ottawa and were put up in the hotel for the weeks leading up to the show. I hadn't been inside for decades, but recently attended a charity breakfast on the terrace. It is a gorgeous hotel. I am considering it for my next staycation.

It was ok.
I ordered two drinks, it was very good.
I ordered a hamburger and a steak. Both were cold.
The biggest issue was the wasps. A lot of them.
I definitely not recommend as long as they don't solve the wasps issue.

Issues with billing and no one is getting back to me. What a load of headache! They charged me for breakfast that was included in my stay, and I was told to call accounting. For five days straight now, it goes to voicemail. I emailed their rep Rick Corcoran and just ignored it. Will never go back to this hotel!

Very old feeling. Beautiful lobby and surrounding open areas. The rooms however felt damp. AC could not get lower than 23 degrees. Our room had a lot of spiders and webs all over (lamps and behind the tv) I probably caught about 6 spiders. When I rolled up the blinds I accidently squished about 5 and found about 3 dead dried up ones in the corners of the room. Thank God we didn't spend too much time in there (only to sleep) expected more for what we paid per night.

This was the worst hotel stay of my life (out of several hundred). The bed was so uncomfortable I had to sleep on the floor the first night. A different slightly better mattress was provided for the remainder of the stay. The bathroom was shabby and needed a complete renovation. I hadn't used a bathroom that shabby since I was a student living in a basement apartment. The TVs were from the previous century and only one remote actually worked. The phone only worked on speaker mode for the first two days, then didn't work at all. We could hear everything from the adjoining rooms. The parking is an absolute nightmare. If you come back to the hotel after 4 P. M.the lot is full, even though we had added parking to the room when we checked in. The front desk then sends you on a wild goose chase trying to find a private parking lot. The food and wine on the Terrace was well below standard, and over-priced.
The staff were helpful. That's the only positive thing I can say.

Pretty horrible experience all round.

We were greeted at the driveway with, "You can't park here! " Next, there were no parking spots at the hotel because there was a wedding being held there and the main garage was under renovation. Then we discovered that the prominently displayed "breakfast" while reserving is actually a separate cost of $40 per person per night. Finally, woke up on the first morning to notice what looked like a blood stain on one of our sheets.

So far, it could all be chalked up to misunderstandings and/or bad luck. But what really pushed it over the top was how staff responded when we dared to complain. I kept my cool and tried to speak to the receptionist and she actually kept looking at her screen while I was talking. When I asked her to look at me when I was speaking to her, she actually said, "well I'm not the owner of the hotel or a manager. "

The manager was better and apologetic but only did the bare minimum of resetting the suite for us.

If it wasn't for the location it would get 1 star.

I was looking to Impress the girlfriend for our anniversary.

Was thinking we were going to a high end hotel. However it felt more like the motel 6.

Paint falling off the bathtub, lights did not work in the bathroom.

Also faulty fire alarm issues, that they are fully aware of, but did not fix.

I brought these issues up to the night manager Raves Tirca.

He came up with the great Solution of saying “I’m sorry”

That’s it? I thought I would reach out to them via another means and I was told that they would look into this and follow up. Zero response.

This bing said, I have been to other Fairmobt locations. Banff, Jasper & Toronto.

All great locations with top notch service.

I know things can go wrong. We’re not perfect. But they did have a chance do make things right and they decided to do nothing.

In my opinion you should save your money and go to the Marriott.

The Fairmont is my favourite hotel chain. Rooms are great and the service is always first class. I recently left something in my room and the staff quickly shipped it to my home address. Thanks to all but in particular Claude at the front desk.

One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had on top of this I wrote an email to the fairmont complaint department with no response from their side, from the service to the actual
Room to what I was promised everything was a disaster
Little side note I’ve stayed in fairmont mont tremblant and others as well and have never had any complaints

Wow. This hotel smashed expectations. The grand entryway makes it seem like you are in a castle and the experience just continues. The architecture is spectacular, with tasteful modern updates that don't take away from the original feel. It's a pricy stay, but worth the experience. Do yourself a favour and check this place out!

Location is fantastic, probably the best part of the hotel is the location, as well as the appearance.lots around the hotel.the locks, the Rideau center mall, and the byward market are all a couple minutes walk.

Chateau Laurier is one of Ottawa's icons. I didn't stay at this hotel, but I attended two weddings in this unique venue. Our friend's son and daughter had their wedding ceremonies at the terrace and wedding banquet at the Laurier Room (18-foot ceiling with gorgeous chandeliers). I have to say that the hotel's terrace is a perfect spot in Ottawa for wedding pictures, boasting a panoramic view of the Ottawa River and Parliament Hill! In addition, wedding dinner food normally doesn't wow me, but I was very pleased with the food there.
