I have been here multiple times and I think it’s the best pasta in town. Every time the pasta was cooked to perfection, al dente as it should be. The best thing is they change the menu every week so you can try out new pasta dishes. Just love this place!
13 December 2023 6:05
The pasta is undercooked. Very disappointed. There is nothing special about it. Please don't come all the way to this place. Not worth the hype. But if you are around the area visiting here is ok.

Incredible lunch. The Maccheroncini alla Zucca e Salamella was of the best pasta's I've ever had. Easily the best pasta in the city. Tiramisu was delicious as well. 5/5
12 October 2023 9:51
We were lucky to just get into the queue before close and were served the last hot lunch. Wait time was maybe 15 minutes.

Some of the options were sold out. The pasta was pretty good and the service very hospitable. I wouldn't say best pasta of my life.but the tiramisu - although small and unassuming in a plastic cup - was unbeatable. Regret sharing one. Still think about it a lot.

The food is 5 stars but they get 1 star for service. The staff are nice but the line to order food and/or purchase retail items can take an hour. Years ago it was possible to grab lunch in a reasonable amount of time, but no more. I’ve made many attempts this summer to try and get some yummy pasta but the lines are so long and I don’t have time.
16 August 2023 11:21
They said it was the best pasta in the city, and they weren’t wrong! Finally got to lunch here today and it did not disappoint. We were even lucky enough to get one of the coveted indoor tables! Pasta was delicious - 2x options for tagliatelle and 2x options for ravioli, with sides too. There’s a queue but it’s worth standing in for a pasta taste sensation!

Beautiful, simple, and wonderfully authentic Italian food! Since Famiglia Baldassare only makes two pasta dishes per day, you know they have their craft down to a perfected art. I arrived early and only had to wait about 15 minutes for a spot. The complimentary bread was crispy on the outside with a springy, fluffy interior and the perfect hint of sour. The meats were cured to perfection and had the most delicate melty texture in my mouth — same with the asparagus, which was buttery and not at all stringy or hard. And the pasta! It almost couldn’t have been more basic of a dish, and yet it really, truly shocked me with how good it was. The freshness was apparent in every bite, and I enjoyed it thoroughly, with no extra garnishments or condiments needed to enhance the light flavour. Also, the owners were so kind and delightful, and watching the chefs make their fresh pasta behind the counter was a fun experience! Be prepared for a wait (I’d recommend getting there before opening), especially on weekends where they sometimes sell out by noon. Despite the hassle, it’s well worth it, and I know I’ll be back again on my next visit to the city.
11 May 2023 20:16
Not much I can say that hasn’t already been said. Probably the best and most cost-effective pasta experience you can have in the city, a rare case of a line-up that’s actually worth the wait. Don’t forget to pick up some provisions for home so you can unleash your inner chef, solid date night cheat code

Absolutely love this place. Attention to detail and care that goes into the food… can’t find any other place quite like this in the city. 10/10 recommend.

Best fresh pasta in Toronto! For eating in or cooking at home, simply amazing ️
If you have time to line up lunch options are always delicious and very authentic Italian (Mon to Fri, noon to 3pm). But if you are more in a rush or wish to have a (high level!) restaurant level meal to prepare at home in 15 minutes pop in between 3: 30 and 5pm to skip the line and buy delicious fresh or frozen pasta and sauces, among other great selection of Italian products.
31 March 2023 9:40
Picked up fresh pasta and canned tomatoes here. They have a display with the different types of pasta available in case you don’t know all the Italian names for them. If you’re buying ingredients, try not to visit while they’re open for take out as the lineups are long.
Delicious pasta and staff are helpful with recommendations.
26 March 2023 19:47
The pasta quality was amazing, and the sauce was good. The only downside was how long the wait was outside and their odd hours.
17 March 2023 7:22
Always so yummy, staff are so friendly. Hoping you guys decide to open a free standing restaurant one day
03 March 2023 22:33
Such a cool retail & pasta shop with incredible pasta and an amazing team! I always make a point of coming here when I get a weekday off to grab lunch. They also have a curated selection of authentic Italian goodies - from homemade tomato sauce, to salami, to wine and cheese!

Such a treat! Definitely recommend enjoying a pasta from their lunch menu and taking a few things home with you. My favourites include their lasagna and tiramisu!
05 November 2022 9:40
Fresh pasta, great service. Highly recommend coming here for lunch. Only downside is limited in door seating so you may have to wait.
02 November 2022 23:59
I bought 600g of fresh Tagliatelle and a tiramisu. The pasta was the perfect thickness, rich and had a smooth texture. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious and I can't remember the last time I had mascarpone cream that was so perfect.
07 September 2022 14:22
BEST PASTA in Toronto. Expect a lineup if you show up on a nice day for the lunch counter - but it's worth the wait. The take home offerings are wonderful if you can't wait for the lunch line. Follow their instagram for the lunch counter and daily retail offerings.
02 September 2022 13:57
Their pastas are amazing. Definitely worth the wait to try at least once. Head there early if you want to beat the lunch rush from 12-2
30 August 2022 0:50
Really well crafted pasta dishes. Friendly service and good vibes. Every dish is amazing - never had anything I didn't love!
28 August 2022 0:54
I’d come here every day if I could. The only spot in Toronto where the pasta actually reminds me of being back in Italy.
20 July 2022 23:46
Among the best pasta in the city. Perfectly seasoned high quality ingredients are what keep me coming back. Pasta is always cooked to a perfect (and proper) al dente. 10/10.
15 July 2022 2:42
Fab-U-LOUS! Some of the hardest working and nicest guys in town producing beautiful pastas and products inspired by their Italian heritage. This is a gem of gems in Toronto. Baldassarre Fresh pasta, sauce, bread and some cheese - a perfect recipe for a perfect dinner.
26 June 2022 13:53
Finally got to visit this place after hearing about their opening back in 2017.

I was able to pick up some rigatoni from the retail shop and I cooked it up with some simple marinara sauce and topped it with DOP parmigiana that I also got from the store and it came our fantastic.

The 300g portion was perfect for 2 people and the pasta was perfectly made. It had a great chewy texture and had ridges that hugged the sauce. The price point was great at $6 for 300g.

I was also able to try the lunch special which was a pork bone broth with noodles. It had excellent flavour and I loved how simple and clean it was, although the price was a little high for the portion ($13) but it did include a donation.

Overall, I will be coming back to try their other house made pastas and some other lunch specials, especially now that I am close by.
02 March 2022 8:21
My favorite pasta spot. Mainly wholesale but they also do lunch (Tue-Fri). Their lunch menu changes daily, follow them on IG for updates!
01 January 2022 2:46
The absolute best pasta in the city, traditional yet innovative. Leo knows exactly what he's doing.
31 December 2021 17:50
Absolutely iconic Toronto Italian.
Authentic Italian family makes super traditional Italian specials. Currently they’re only offering lunch from 12-2PM Wednesday to Friday (I think.check their Instagram for latest schedules and daily specials)
26 November 2021 3:29
I challenge you to find better pasta in the city. The menu changes daily with some favourites on repeat. Handmade in house. It doesn't get much better than this. Now LLBO.
23 November 2021 18:42
My partner and I went to Famiglia Baldassarre recently given its high rating. Unfortunately, the place does not live up to its hype. There was a one hour wait in line for the pasta of the day which was a sweet potato stuffed cappellacci with ground turkey on top and costed $18 each for a rather small portion. While the sweet potato tasted good, the pasta itself was nothing special and my partner complained about the meat being salty. Better off looking elsewhere for good pasta.
20 November 2021 6:36
This is my favourite place on earth maybe. Whenever I have a day off, I make sure I go here to grab some delicious pasta, cheese and prosciutto. The staff could not be friendlier. I love how they take you through each days menu on Instagram too - so much fun! I recommend their ricotta ravioli and squash ravioli when they have it. I appreciate that they have vegetarian and meat options. I think this is the best pasta in Toronto
20 September 2021 0:59
Had the Sweet Corn Tortelloni today and it was absolutely amazing. Arrived 5 minutes after opening and I was ready about 30th in the ever growing line!
09 September 2021 12:56
Delicious. Waited in line for 30 minutes at noon on Tuesday on a nondescript block of Geary Ave, in an industrial area just north of the CP train tracks that felt a bit like being in Brooklyn, NYC. The daily special was their fresh made tagliatelle in Bianco or al Ragù for $18 (or $25 con tartufo with white summer truffles) … yum. Cash only at the lunch counter. They donate part of this to a neighbourhood charity, and the price already includes a tip for their crew. They also have a retail shop (which takes cards) selling their fresh pastas made in house, along with cheeses, meats, breads and Italian provisions. Recently I’ve noticed more and more Italian places in the city serving their pastas, like Il Covo and Barroco X Nino. When you know, you know. Buon appetito
08 September 2021 19:48
Best meal to start off a birthday! Working 9-5 means you can’t really make it during their lunch hours so we took advantage of a day off to visit.

The line was just approaching the corner when we arrived. The wait was around ~30 minutes. There are tables and seats across the street to have your meal. Parking lot across the street is private and not affiliated with the business so be careful.

The pasta meal was just perfect. Freshly made in house and such a nice treat with the truffle add ons (+$7). It does go for $18 but my previous Baldassarre meal was 4 months back so it’s a nice splurge once in a while.

Tip: if you don’t got cash, go inside to pay for your meal in advance, then get back in line to order your meal. If visiting in a group, one can line up to pay inside while the rest holds a spot in the line outside for the meal.

This place is a must visit!
13 August 2021 9:34
If there is no lineup then I would say the pasta is alright but it is definitely not worth a wait of more than 10 minutes. The sauce tasted good but the pasta itself was bland. Although it is handmade, the colour was very pale and didn't taste like eggs were used (just flour and water) and the water was not salted enough. They were also pretty skimpy with the cheese which was disappointing since it was a vegetarian pasta. The lunch line is also plagued with inefficiencies and feels like it is done on purpose for the sake of having a lineup outside. We waited in line for an hour and they only serve one dish.
04 August 2021 14:22
I rarely eat Italian out anymore because Famiglia Baldassarre has set the bar soooo high. They make pasta dinners with my family incredibly special. The quality of the pasta is incredible. I am slowly getting through their entire menu and LOVE everything. The fresh buratta is also out of this world when they have it on the menu. Their pasta and other items are affordable, delicious, and fun to make. They’re a one-stop shop - I get fresh pasta, sauce, parmiagano-reggiano, etc, when I visit. Soooo grateful for this place and their delicious food!
22 July 2021 18:31
We were finally able to find time midday between 12-2PM to try the in-house everything here!

I wasn't sure what to expect but I was completely taken by surprise as the flavours had blown me away. I'm not sure if I can remember another time where the flavours alone could evoke such a pleasant dining experience! The pasta was good but the Focaccia Barese and Burrata were the highlight of the meal.

I'll absolutely return to try their other dishes.
19 July 2021 1:55
Pasta made fresh, with absolute care and love. With the utmost simplicity, making it about the quality ingredients and the craftsmanship. Just like in Italy. Also, owned and run by one of the kindest people I’ve seen in the industry. Leo cares about quality, and about people - and he keeps giving back to the community.

In addition to hot lunch in warmer season/weather, they also sell retail here - the best Italian things you could want: from fresh pasta (all kinds, noodles, stuffed, etc.), to sauces, to cheeses (including their housemade burrata), to cured meats, to pantry staples.

Fave items: Too many things to list!
13 July 2021 1:11
Such incredible pasta, everything on their menu is to die for. Whenever I come I usually also pick up some frozen filled pasta to have it at home. One of the many options, the savage sugo set will feed 4 and its amazing. Since you are here, you should also stop by at Gaucho Pie Co for the best empanadas in Toronto and at Blood Brothers for delicious beer.
26 June 2021 20:53
What a rip off save yourself the money buy a michelina 20 bucks penna alfredo with a drink the pasta was hard and nothing special about the flavor lesson learned. I thought it would be food there was a huge line buy no not sure why they are so busy
29 May 2021 13:14
There's a reason for the long line-up! The pasta and sauces are all perfect, exactly as they are made in Italy. We are lucky to have these pasta nerds here in Toronto. Thanks Leo and team!
04 May 2021 7:11
Best pasta outside of Italy and would probably give many in Italy a run for their money. Very high quality. 10/10 would recommend.
24 January 2021 12:08
Some of the best pasta I've had to date! Love coming here to pick up a lot of fresh pasta, cheese, bread and tomato sauce. The portions are the perfect size and the flavours are perfection. I've loved their lasagne, and really all their fresh pastas. Follow them on instagram to see what's on the menu for the day but warning, you'll want what their posting everyday.
20 January 2021 1:50
Hands down the best pasta in the city. I don't love the lines either so get here early and be prepared to wait. It's WORTH IT. Leandro does everything with love. He's the nonno trapped in a 30-something body and we are here for it. Check their IG for daily specials and of course, the pasta to go is such a treat if you can't make the trek to Geary during a weekday lunch hour. Thank you, Famiglia Baldassarre, for all you do and to the community you continuously give back to. (They made many deliveries of pasta to local hospitals and workers at the height of the pandemic because they are so selfless.)
30 December 2020 3:59
A treat when you have the chance to stop by during the week for one of their lunches. Make sure to check out their insta for the daily menu or you may be disappointed (but not really, because it’s all delicious).
23 November 2019 10:06
Overhyped for pasta. It IS really good freah pasta and crudo and mozzarella ball but I dont know if worth waiting in line for 45 minutes good to put in an order for take out and then another wait of almost half an hour for actual food. Dont know if i would go again but at the same time, I don't regret doing this at least once
22 November 2019 14:07
If you want hand made italian heaven, then visit Familia Baldassarre! Fresh pasta that is so flavourful, thinking about it is making me drool. You need to go as soon as they open, cause the line up gets super long. But if you do end up waiting, its soooo worth it!
20 November 2019 16:55
The pasta is great and incredibly fresh. Though the sauce was quite over salted, it was unpleasant to finish.

There definitely needs to be a better layout inside. With the people waiting for takeout scattered everywhere, it’s impossible to tell where the line to order was. Whilst waiting for my takeout, I saw every single person come in confused by where to go or who was in line.
18 November 2019 14:46
Absolutely incredible! Fresh and delicious! The best I’ve had in the city! I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend. Worth an hour wait!
03 November 2019 1:24
Ooooogeez I’ve been here two times love the place! It’s AMAZING. Worth for queuing for sure. Staff so friendly. If you wanna order their fresh pasta, email them a day before!
01 November 2019 23:48
Good place with amazing food! But it’s better in take out than eating there. It’s very small and you will have around 1h to wait, no oil or salt or pepper available.
Staff is very friendly and service is fast. Prices are correct but be careful it’s cash only.
28 October 2019 10:55
Long wait for sure! But well worth it! The Ravioli in Butter sauce and fresh mozza was absolutely divine! And their ingredients are top quality!
21 October 2019 14:54
By far the best place to buy fresh pasta in the city. They have a few tables for lunch if you are lucky! Everything is unreal beyond words.
23 September 2019 10:23
It is very tasty. Try to get there as early as possible if you’re really dying to try it. Otherwise don’t wait too long in the line up
26 August 2019 13:13
Pasta is good. But never again would I wait in line 1 hour and 40 minutes waiting for food. Besides, got ripped off. Paid $40 in USD for two small plates and cashier gave 50 cents change in canadian.
01 August 2019 3:36
Famiglia Baldasarre has become quite the institution in Toronto. There are always massive lineups - rain, snow, or shine - but the food is always well worth the wait, unlike some not so great hyped up brunch and ice cream places in the city. I usually get there at 11: 20 if I want to try to get a table (wait inside the holding area), or slightly later if I want to bring it home (and end up third or fourth in line). The area is becoming quite a ‘food’ destination even though it’s a bit far out of the core. There is plenty of parking though on the many side streets. Daily menus are posted on their Instagram stories usually an hour or two before. They are usually only serving from 12-2 on some weekdays.

Once you get in, the food comes relatively quickly - they have got a well-oiled machine to handle the crowds. The food is priced well relative to portion. I have loved everything I have tried but my favourite so far is the ravioli with truffles. But, I have never made it yet for cavatelli Wednesday, so there’s still more to look forward to. I can’t wait for my next day off.
30 July 2019 11:18
Amazingly fresh and authentic italian food. Simple menu with lots of flavour! The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of food you are getting. Get there early.its worth the wait!
29 July 2019 23:51
Finally had the chance to visit this place. Must say, a bit disappointed that they sold out of the burrata very quickly but that just means I will have to return. Long wait but worth it.they also sell fresh pasta that they make every day but as I said it is first come first serve so it’s best to get there waiting to ensure you get what you went there for.
