Firehouse Subs

The subs are AMAZING, store is usually very clean and the employees are generally friendly. Be sure to leave yourself with time to spare though, as service takes at least 10 minutes.

This is the first time I’ve been to this location, I’ve gone once a week to the brant street location since the day it opened and before that various other locations once weekly for almost a year! I always get the same sub for my weekly cheat meal and look very forward to it. For the first time I was disappointed…. The young man that made my two large hero’s did it quicker then the other locations take to make just one and I could see why. I got home and they had both fell apart and were soggy and just thrown together…. Now I wouldn’t care if the taste was the same but the bread wasn’t as fresh as the other locations and I would swear there was less meat I just don’t know how that’s possible, also brown lettuce! Just do yourself a favor and go to the brant location if buying in Burlington! It’s not worth the risk even if it’s close to you. I will say the cashier was very polite but the young man that made them didn’t seem to care to be there and his actions definitely confirmed that. You’ve lost my future business and my hockey teams also.

Everything is great from how they greet you when you walk in to the time you leave. The food is awesome.

Quality food, came with right minutes of ordering. Service was exceptional. Lovely young woman. She's an asset to the shop.wis I got her name!

I've had good experiences here, the sandwiches are always excellent.

I've also had bad experiences here and been ripped off for the last time. I ordered 2 soups to go with my sandwiches, paid by credit card. They nearly forgot about the soups and then only had enough for 1. Not a problem, just refund the order right? Cashier was unable to refund back to the card and asked if they could refund in cash instead. Again, not a problem, but they gave me 5 dollars which doesn't cover the tax I would have also paid. To add insult to injury the one soup they DID fill wasn't even half full.

I was a regular but I'm not returning. Please train your staff on how to properly refund customers and/or ensure stock is always available. If stock isn't available, cashiers should be aware of that when taking orders, not when the customer's order is "ready" for pickup.

Excellent sub place. I placed a big order last minute even with that they made on time and delivered it on time. The food was very delicious.thanks a lot Rebecca for your help and your service.

A little pricey but you are getting what you pay for! Top notch subs! Once you try it, you can't go to another sub shop. If you haven't gone, try it!

Have now visited this establishment twice. Once was dine in, second take out. Both times, the wait was ridiculous. Place was rather empty so perhaps something else going on behind the scenes, do not know. Intake order on both occasions was not the best experience. Thus, the final product was not ideal. It is soooooo important to have someone at the cash that knows the products. Sub was missing toppings, sauces, etc. The lettuce in the salad was all brown and not very appealing
Will not return.

Had trouble ordering online. When I called the store they were more than happy to take the order over the phone. Also allowed me to select a later pick up time. As well, tasty food as usual!

I am rewriting my review based on my last experience here. They still have the best subs I have had in years. Lots of meat and great flavour. Way more expensive than other sub chains but you get what you pay for. Only downside is bottom of sub gets a bit soggy.
On my last visit I ordered on line for a 6 pm pickup. I got there at 5: 50, checked in and was told my sub was not ready so I sat and waited. I watched multiple people come in and order and get their subs as well as other online pickups come and leave. Finally at 6: 15 I asked if they forgot my order and gave my name. She looked down and said "here it is". Given I had been waiting half an hour I asked for a fresh sandwich to be made which it was but the order was incorrect when I got it home.
Not really sure what happened here.

Unfortunately couldn’t return or I would have.

It was our first visit at firehouse sub. The store was much larger than I expected with some decent decor. The workers were attentive. We got the brisket cheddar sub which came to 20after tax, which was certainly pretty steep. But the sub itself was pretty amazing. The bun was fresh and not cardboard like, and the brisket was juicy and tender. Again, wouldn’t eat it all the time, but definitely worth spend extra 5 dollars treating yourself once in a while.

Great food, great service, however extremely slow on orders, if you go there be prepare to wait for at least 15-20min

Sandwiches are outstanding. I would have happily rated 5 stars if the restaurant didn't start watering down there soups so heavily. Broccoli and cheese should be creamy, not broth, it tastes disgusting now because of this cost saving technique. Either make it properly or scrap it from the menu, I won't be ordering that item anymore after my last 3 experiences.

The Burlington location is going downhill. The young workers are very slow and don’t seem to care much about customer service or quality. The sub I usually order was sub-par and the salad we order had wilted lettuce. Not considerate enough to provide napkins.

I’ve been to other firehouse subs - this one has the worst service by far. Very slow, and employees spend most time talking to one another with only 1 person actually making sandwiches. Also NONE of the 5 people make sandwiches wore hair nets or hats, some didn’t even have their hair tied back. Very gross considering they are dealing with open food.

Food is good but would go to a different location.

Love this place as it has brought a completely new take on subs with premium ingredients! Nice and friendly staff, and the food has been delicious everytime. My personal favourite is the firehouse hero on whole wheat bread. Plus gotta love the pickle that comes with the order. Yum

It was our first visit. The cashier was friendly, professional, and courteous. We had two subs. They were prepared to our specifications quickly and efficiently. We noticed that everything was fresh, hot, and tasty. We did not mind the price as we recognize that you get what you pay for. Overall a return visit is warranted.

Food was 30 min late from when they said it would be ready. Very dissapointed as we had called them almost an hour before then even.

Absolutely love the subs here. Food has consistently been amazing. The service could be a hit or miss. Some basic customer service training is missing. Saying, please and thank you and serving with a smile on the face should be the bare minimum a customer should be able to expect.

Edit: dropped the review to 4 stars. The last 2 times I've had subs they didn't add any pickles and I even asked for extra. So if you ask for anything extra double-check before you head home!

The subs are incredible. The meatball is sooo good. If you just want to give one a try go for the hook and ladder. You will not be disappointed.

I ordered a sub online today and arrived at the time it said to be ready. When you order online it says to bypass the line and go straight to the takeout area to pick up your order, which I did, and I was told to go to the front and tell somebody there. I ended up standing there waiting for about 10 minutes before somebody finally came up to me to ask about my order. It had been ready the entire time I was standing there waiting, but nobody would bring it to me or ask my name for the order, so it had obviously already been made and was just sitting there because nobody would serve me. Not great, now I have a not fresh sub simply because people refused to speak to me.

Hands down the worst veggie sub I've ever had.

First of all, it was my first time at firehouse, so it may have been my fault for being unfamiliar with their process, but I also don't think it's fair to assume that anyone walking in knows that the process is different than every other sub place. I ordered the *Build Your Own* Veggie, but at no point was I asked what I wanted on it, or was I even told what was on it. The displayed menu doesn't specify any of the ingredients, and given that it's called Build Your Own, I assumed I would be asked. Instead, a few minutes later the employee making the subs just handed it to me. I walked out having *no idea* what was on my sub. To add to that, all the ingredients are hidden behind the counter, so I couldn't even see what might be fresh and what might not be.

As for the actual sub - completely disgusting. There was more cheese than veggies (on a *veggie* sub). There was enough onion for 5 subs. Not to mention, had I known it was white onion (like if it was written on the menu or if I had been asked what I wanted on it), I would have passed on it. The sauce they use is mayo, which again, had I know I would have passed on it. Why is the default sauce on a veggie sub not sub sauce? Once I peeled away the barf-inducing amount of cheese and onion, all that was left was mayo soaked tomato and lettuce (where is the cucumber, olives, literally any veggies that aren't just lettuce and tomato? Again, on a *veggie* sub). There was also some green pepper, but for some reason it was melted into the *pound* of cheese that I had to peel off to even be able to stomach the sub.

Overall, incredibly disappointed, and frankly, grossed out.

Great subs! Everything tastes super fresh and I'm not usually a hug lover of subs because I sometimes find some deli meat to have questionable quality. Firehouse has excellent quality. My fav is Smokehouse beef and cheddar with cheddar and bbq sauce.

I have to admit Firehouse has a pretty good sub and great packaging. The customer service is a bit slow, was the only one in the place and it took them almost 20 mins to make a sub from their menu. The paper bag that was holding my sub was covered in BBQ sauce, didn’t notice it on the bottom till I got to my car. I caught it before I put it on my leather seats. Price wise I’d give them 3 out of 5, their medium subs are $12, at Subway or Mr Sub I can get the most expensive footlong for that price. Not sure what Firehouse’s footlongs are priced at, never purchased one. The ingredients of the brisket and cheddar sub I purchased was fresh and tasty, because of the taste I gave them 4 out of 5 stars.

Placed an order for hook and ladder with bbq on and on the side. No bbq sauce and they gave a sauce cup that has 1/8 of bbq sauce. Not happy.

Worst experience at any restaurant by far. Staff here is racist. Would never go to this location

Orderd from this store (through delivery app) totally missed adding a salad, got wrong size sub (medium instead of large) and missing items from kids meal. No phone number to call. All I got from the number was a voice-mail saying mailbox not set up. Horrible business operation. Second time they have missed giving all items for kids meal. Never order from this store again.other stores are better quality and pay attention to orders and have good customer service

So grateful for Rebecca who helped accommodate a day-before order platter of subs for an outdoor picnic gathering! Ready for pick-up the next morning, including plates and napkins, she and her team helped make my team's day. Thank you!

The subs "seem" a little pricey, but once you try to wrap your mouth around the giant sub crammed with meat, you forget the price. And as always, their subs taste Great!

The staff were great. They took my order right away and gave me a cup for my pop. I really love their pop machine. It was a bit crowded but everyone kept their distance. There are arrows to follow but no one really pays attention to them. Everyone was wearing a mask. The service time was reasonable. At this time, you are not able to eat inside.

Awesome sub! It was so big and stuffed with meats and cheese and veggies I could hardly get my mouth around it. I could only eat half - what a wimp!

Nom nom nom. Best subs ever. For a little more than you pay at the other chains, you get a sub that is tasty and satisfying. Good quality meats and ingredients. Try these, it will spoil you to all others.

1st time trying Firehouse Subs! And wow, why did I wait so long! Definitely our go to sub place from now on. A lot of meat on the sub. The bun is so soft and fresh. Good selections of subs too. Will be back!

I came in today to get a sub, but had a really bad experience. I ordered a pepperoni meatball sub, which I felt I got overcharged as the girl who took my order failed to mention the price. She then proceeded by arguing with me when I asked her why the price differed from the price she mentioned. Very bad customer service. I will not come here again!

Service was quick, subs are way better than subway. The only issue was that we did not receive the side pickles, which was just a small oversight.

Long wait on a Tuesday, third party delivery people were prioritized, no pickle and worst of all hair in my sandwich i like the chain just not sure about this franchise location

Can management do something about the lack of cleanliness and hygiene at this location. The whole place needs to be dumped in bleach. The employees don’t look very clean either and do not wear any PPE while preparing your food. It’s Especially important in these times - everyone really needs to step it up.

My skip the dishes order was cold and messy with greasy finger prints all over the container - not appetizing at all and I didn’t eat my sand which.

It was our first visit and the staff were helpful and friendly. We split an Engineer sub. These subs are huge - lots of fresh toppings and lots of meat. Very tasty sandwich. We would love to see a gluten-free bread option.

Not your ordinary sub! I ordered the Hook & Ladder sub.it was better than any sub from all competitors. The staff are friendly, visible and really seem to enjoy working here. Welcome to the area. Have been there several times.

Best subs you can get hands down! Staff is always friendly and food is amazing. Meatball with Pepperoni is my go to, but you can't go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu.

Our subs were fresh and tasted great! The bread itself is very soft, seemed like right out of the oven. The cheese and meat is also fantastic, not processed formed slices like at most sub places.
The service was terrific too, despite it being quite busy. We were asked soon after sitting down if were enjoying our subs, also, every time we were finished something, the same nice, young lady from behind the cash would come to our table and clear it of sandwich baskets, napkins etc.
The subs are superior to the two usual sub franchises that most visit. It was also great to see they have the new, self-serve soda machines with a touch screen for making different soda concoctions with flavors, as well as an offering of their own exclusive Cherry Lime-ade. The only thing that was missed by the company I was with were some toppings that they're used to being offered, namely green olives.
Amazing overall experience and highly recommended.

Great food and amazing service. Glad to have so close to home. Both their Club and Turkey Bacon Ranch were superb. My wife enjoyed the brisket with our favourite BBQ sauce - Baby Ray's.

The service is amazing. All the employees are very friendly and polite. The food taste great. They give kids little fireman hats. I would eat there everyday if I could. I dont even have any suggestions to improve this place it's just that good.

Great service. The subs are delicious and massive. A little expensive. But you get what you pay for.
Better than Subway. Better than Quiznos. Better than the subs from Fortinoes.
And a portion of your meal goes to a good cause

Gone twice now. Once when it first opened and then today. Staff are friendly and know what they are doing. Food looks and tastes great. Good addition to Burlington and I hope they stay consistent.

As far as subs go, it’s better than many options nearby. However, if you’re going for the philly cheese steak, I’d recommend going elsewhere

Another fantastic location of Firehouse Subs. Not only great food, but a business that contributes to the community in which it operates. More businesses should take their cues from this place.

Excellent subs! Great variety and the service was great. The prices are higher than your standard sub place but they are so much better! The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing they need to change is the wrapped pickle slices, was a mess to get out of the little bags and was soggy.

People who work here are amazing, we went in 10 mins to close and they let us sit in and dine - thank you! The subs they make are delicious. Top quality fresh ingredients and they have a variety of subs or you can make your own. These are not the cheapest subs but then you will find the difference when you taste them.

From what parts of the sub I could enjoy it was delicious. However getting the sub as a takeout by the time I got home (5 min drive) it was very soggy and not enjoyable to eat. Way to much sauce at the bottom of the container. Staff were friendly which is great but it took almost 25 mins to get food. Considering the large amount of staff I figured it would be faster. I found the music to be a bit loud in the store and could not here my name called (mya have been a factor in wait time, not sure) Also they put green pepper on my wifes sub which I did not ask for. I would like to give it another try but a bit hesitant now especially since paying $30 for 2 subs.

We had the pleasure of visiting before they opened. The staff were all very friendly and the facilities were sparkling clean.
We enjoyed our subs and the pop machine has MANY options you can customize your flavors. We will be back!

It's not just another Subs place! Have had Firehouse Subs before but now I was pleased to find out there is one Firehouse Sub that opened locally.
Food is excellent! And so is the service. As far a food is concerned, there are waaay too many mouth watering choices.
Definitely a place to stop by.

Absolutely love the fact that when I walked in, the entire staff greets you “ welcome to firehouse! ” In unison. The wait during peek times is to be expected. I loved getting thanked by my first name by the staff for my patience. A little gesture like that is always appreciated!

The food is fantastic and worth the price.

The establishment is very clean and bright. I love the painted mural on the wall, of a firefighter saluting a fallen comrade memorial.

I went there today to grab a variety of subs to try for my family. We decided on 4 that had been recommended by other people.

The Hook and Ladder, The Meatball, The Brisket, and The Hero. All 4 subs were delicious. I didn't very any of the ingredients to the menu and this was a good choice. The brisket was my favorite followed closely my the Hook and Ladder.

The place was very clean and staff were helpful and friendly! I will be back over and over until I'm able to try them all! The staff member working suggested The Italian for next time.so that'll be my next sub.

Absolutely love this place and the team that works here. Everyone is so friendly. The cashier (Polly) had such a bright and beautiful smile. She was so friendly and polite, which made my first time experience so much better. She provided me with a menu tour, which I found extremely helpful as well. During my dine-in, she ensured that everything was okay and she never failed to let go of that bright smile on her face. What a delighted worker and great addition to the team! Most definitely will return back here. Cheers to the amazing team!
