Wait time is terrible! I could have gone to a sit down restaurant and eaten in the time I’ve been sitting here waiting for 2 medium subs. There’s still a couple people who were here when we came in waiting for theirs also. Should not have to wait over 30 min for a sandwich.
Second bad review for this place. Never had any issues with this place until the last two visits. Last time it was at lunch and they were already out of over half their meat and was told we could only order about 2-3 subs from the menu. This visit we were told 30 minute wait on a sub because they were doing a big pick up order or something of that nature. When does large pick up orders take priority over walk in customers? Either way they should be staffed accordingly to take orders from both and if pick orders are too big and on short notice that it affects their walk in service they should refuse and prioritize walk ins. Also, I notice how all the bad reviews of this place is saying the same thing and the owner replies that they are sorry but does nothing to improve the situation since it keeps happening. Why reply and say sorry to a negative review if you don't do anything to improve your service?
While I love the idea and atmosphere of this place, I'm not quite sure if it deserves 5 stars as the food was honestly quite mediocre and below my expectations, especially for the more expensive than usual price.
I ordered their steak sub and it wasn't anything special, the meat looks like it came right out of a package. I've had better tasting philly steak subs elsewhere (specifically, Philthy Philly's and the locally owned place in downtown kitchener). Even the subway steak subs are more tasty. And the portion even for a foot long is too little to satisfy a hungry stomach. The only thing going for it was the bread, but that's not really a big factor for me.
Great subs and sides, love firehouse and their dedication to donations and support for first responders. Only complaint was that the subs and meat are fresh, but it was a long wait. Worth checking out, but plan accordingly or maybe pass if you're hoping to grab and go.
Best subs we've ever had. A bit more expensive than those other guys, but way better quality. Our go to from now on. (They use real meat in their subs, unlike Subway).
Here now and I've been waiting for exactly 25 minutes for ONE commonly ordered non specialty sub. What are y'all gonna do when you are actually busy? Will try again in a couple weeks. Still loved the sub.
Arrived at 6: 30pm and didn’t get our food (1 sub, 1 half and half combo with chili) til 7: 15. There were 2 people in front of us. Got home, the chili was half empty and cold. Sub was falling apart and also missing pickle.
Highly recommend not coming to this firehouse unless you have 45 mins to waste
Amazing subs, friendly staff, inviting atmosphere and great location look out Waterloo there's a new sub joint in town that will have you going back for more
We have gone there three times since this location opened. Great tasting subs with a good variety. Our first time with no one ahead of us we waited 10 minutes for two subs, with a staff of six, and a manager/owner sitting at a table. The second time they had five working and a few people in the waiting area, we waited 15 minutes. Our last visit was Thursday December 22 and we waited 25 minutes, for two subs, with 5 people ahead of us waiting for take out and a couple eating in. They had a staff of 5. One cashier and 4 in the kitchen. Yes the staff seemed friendly and the subs are very good, but I find that for what you get, it seems over priced. On average we spend about $25.00 for two subs with no drinks. Also the wait is way too long based on the number of customers and the amount of staff. Not sure if there will be a 4th visit.
