First Canada Inn Hotel Cornwall Hwy 401 ON

Bought this hotel room for 3 nights; the blankets on the bed were soiled, along with the pillows, the fridge was disgustingly filthy; and the bathroom was also very dirty. NOW, i was not charged a deposit at check-in, I was then interrupted during my sleep to loud knocking on my door hours later at night and the guy at the front desk was aggressively demanding a $200 deposit extremely rudely and threatened to call the cops if I didn't pay the deposit, which I told him was going to be paid in the morning when my girlfriend came back with our son. Again, this was his mistake; and I had to make my girlfriend come back to cornwall with our sick child which is over an hour away and when we paid the deposit I was AGAIN treated with disrespect and aggressive manager and employee.
I stay at hotels often but have never had such disrespect and unprofessional treatment from staff.

Stay at any other hotel as there are many in the area.

A little afar from other motels, but the spacious rooms compensate for the group that need a large area.
The room got a real kitchen with sink and stove, at least I saw in my unit 123, but I did not have time to use it.
It is worth the money to spend at First Canada Inn, and the owner is very friendly.

comfortable.good basic place to stay.owner is friendly.still have a bit of work left in the remodeling, but serves the purpose.would stay again when back in the area.maybe when you can.upgrade the towels or add an extra one.

The room was nothing like the photos shown on their website. It was so dirty, used towels and sheets were thrown under the bed and it looked like the floors under the bed hadn't been swept in over a year. Stray Hairs in the sheets, Cobwebs and spiders in the bathroom, old food in the nightstand drawer which caused an ant infestation. Water damage in the room and mold in the bathroom. When I complained about the cleanliness of the room, I was moved to another (gross) room that had no AC. Beds and pillows were so unbelievably uncomfortable, I should've slept in my car! When I went to talk to them about it I was never offered a refund or even a discount for the horrible night I had had. I ended up leaving early because I couldn't stand it any longer. Do yourself a favor and DON'T STAY HERE!

This is my first time staying in First Canada Inn Motel and I will have to give it a 5 star review for their clean rooms and excellent service. The location it self is amazing. One should surely visit and have a stay.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Got the place off of Hotwire, we have got hotels from Hotwire all the time, the first time we got the most gross looking hotel, the pictures on the website was not even close to what it actually was! I have photos of what the place actually looks like. Cracks in the wall, mirror where dirty, cigarettes marks on the table, the bed was all messy and was not clean at all.

Horrible place. First of all this is not a hotel but rather a run down dirty motel. They deceive you by naming this inn with the word "hotel" and charge you accordingly. Filthy dirty sheets, non stop running water in the toilet and a big jar of cigarette butts outside smelling so badly that you feel like you started smoking. I checked in late night and did not realize it till morning, otherwise I would never stay. I believe the worst motel ever. Please avoid!

DO NOT STAY HERE! It would not pass a health inspection! There were no other rooms available in all of Cornwall but we opted to sleep in our truck instead. It deserves a -5.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!
MOTEL STAFF (if you are long term) will go into your room when you are not there claiming to repair something. In my case I thought I got ROBBED, my stuff was all over. (I HAD TO CALL POLICE ON THEM).
No professionalism!
No customer service! (staff lie to you to hash off your complaint)!
Rip off!

This (low class) motel staff (an immigrant husband and wife) do not care to accommodate your basic needs (I asked from the start). Wife did not like guests with dogs so she LIED to me that it was the only room available at that time beside my room. I TOLD HER I don't want dogs and smoking junkies beside my room I PAID FOR for 60 days so she better remove the guest and put them together with smokers. The next day there were rooms available but she STILL refused to accomodate my request I PAID FOR.
YOU CAN COMPLAIN TO MOTEL STAFF ABOUT THE DOG AND SMOKE AND DRUG FUME BUT THEY WILL NOT CARE A CRAP TO FIX THE SITUATION. (other guests will smoke next to your door or by your window + the dog barking will drives you nuts).
(this motel just wants your money). Vs.to provide you with good service.

I was in the middle of a road trip, but the shower had a good amount and temperature, and the bed was firm and comfortable. It was a wonderful stay.

Chambre vraiment sale! J'ai changé deux fois de chambre et les deux fois je n'en revenais pas à quel point c'est sale. Les draps n'ont pas été changés, la toilette était sale (pas nettoyé) on aurait dit une toilette publique. Je pense que l'administration doit être changée.

Dirty room! I change twice and same result, sheets aren't change, toilet really durty like public toilet near of crack house. Seriously need to change administration.

What a great place to stay. It looks like an apartment. I came into my clean room to find a dining set, desk, tv, large bed, couch, kitchen, and bathroom. With 2 nightstands. The service is excellent, and the driveway is clean and clear of snow and ice. I'm coming back here.

We ended up at OYO after getting stuck in the snow on a road trip from the U. S. Everyone was nice, the rooms were warm, and they were very accommodating. Our car was still stuck 5 hours after check out time & they allowed us to stay in the room for a few extra hours and then allowed us to sit on the couches in the lobby. They even gave us bottled water. The service is very nice and the rooms were nicer than expected! Would stay here again if I am every in Cornwall again.

The photos do not reflect the quality, condition or cleanliness. These photos are misleading and either the property brought back to the photos condition or new photos taken. Do not stay here.

Lovely hotel very clean and tidy. Had a great nights sleep there. Kid friendly polite staff very welcoming. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

My boyfriend and I checked in at late night but were still able to get accomodation and they received us with a smiling face. Room was clean and bed was comfy. We enjoyed our stay at First Canada Inn Motel!

Long weekend, Thanksgiving. Price & location brought us here and we will be back when in area again. Easy entrance and secure parking for the large 20 ft uhaul truck we were driving this time. Lovely clean room, beautiful comfy huge bed. Comfortable room temperature Bathroom big, shower also roomy with wonderful water pressure and hot for both showers this morning. *Excellent wifi connection, very strong and fast. Another quiet night, thank you. Several good restaurants very close by for dinner (recommending Capt'n George's Fish & Chips & Cora's Breakfast) This will be our stopover place between Ontario and New Brunswick for our travels now. New owners are very nice and listen carefully to any suggestions and recommendations, trying to get lots of travel and local information for their guests. Hope to see you again early next summer, have a great winter. *NEW OWNERS* are working towards renovations that may be necessary from before their purchase. Can't wait to see what next season brings.
