First Choice Haircutters

I'm so disappointed. I only wanted my hairdresser to clip a little at the back and to shape my front like the butterfly hairdo but with much less shaping, she did anyway, and cutting, have killed my hair's natural hairstyle I knew when she blow dried my hair and it didn't hold the shape it should have. I advised her to cut my hair in that manner to work with my natural hair and its curl she wouldn't have seen as my hair was blow dried. My long hairstyle is now near shoulder length. Again so heartbreaking as it will take me a year to regrow it while at the same time is so much harder to work with along with requiring more product. Why don't some hairstylists understand that it is preferred to come back if the hairstyle we desire isn't quite right. I'd rather pay again then wait six months for hair to grow back. Makes sense to me. There's a reason I normally cut my own hair, and sadly others, who share the same experience.

Wow, this place is worth the trip, Georgie is always knowledgeable and kind.

Got an haircut nd hair curls done at this store and i visit it frequently to have a haircut every month her name is happy i think she is very professional in her work and i really like the welcoming nature of her.cutting is done as per needs and precisely that is one of my main reasons to visit the store every month rather than any other in london.

Jada was very kind and understanding she listens and takes her time. I fully recommend her.

Whenever I need a pick'me-up with my hair I go visit Georgie at the Bellwood plaza First Choice and she always makes me feel so much better.

She was amazing she did my hair exactly how I wanted it and I didn't even tell her, she must be magic

She really took the time to make sure expectations were clear and was even able to correct the "covid bangs" that were reeking havoc on my life. I can finally wear my hair down and will be sending all my friends over to her!

The lady who helped me out (I think it was Tracey? I forgot to ask for her name) did a fantastic job with my last-minute haircut, providing some great down to earth conversation along the way. I really love the open environment, some places make you feel a bit claustrophobic, but I felt very comfortable.

Child hair cut is too expensive 12 and under should be less than 15$. But its more like 20. My haircut only cost 15 as an adult. Maybe a barbar is the way to go.

I always have a good experience at this first choice. The workers are great listeners and amazing at what they do. I am on a tight budget and I can't find a cheaper price for the time and effort they put into styling my hair. Yesterday Sherrie styled my hair, I asked for layers, bangs and a trim she did a perfect job. Thank you. 5/5 stars.

Did an amazing haircut on my son! Awesome hairstylist who was extremely patient and lovely at cutting his hair to fit our style. Would most definitely recommend for kids haircuts!

Went to get my undercut shaved here and they charged me for a full haircut which cost $23. They did not tell me this before they did it. Seems they’re only interested in ripping people off.

I get a perfect cut every time at the First Choice location on Oxford at Gammage from Sherry or Cathy. Those two are highly recommended hair dressers at this location

The eastern european woman there, I don't remember her name, was the worst hair dresser i've ever had to deal with. I came in there about a month or month and a half ago to trim my long almost waist length hair. She invited me to sit on a pile of hair she didn't sweet up, when i asked her if shes going to clean it she tells me to sit on the chair first. Suggesting I get hair all over my shoes and clothes. I said no thank you.
She swept up the hair and I sat there and she manages to use the same scissors as the client before me. I asked her if she was going to clean them or get new scissors? She says they don't do that and they just spray it, then picks up the scissors, sprays them with this aerosol spray, wipes them and manages to cut my hair. I've never seen scissors cleaned that way but okay. She cut my hair then starts to criticize it. Asks me if I use leave in conditioner. I said no. She asks if i flat iron it. I said no.she says its so dry. I have very healthy long hair, albeit a few split ends because its so long. This is coming from a woman who's much older than me and hair like a brillo pad. Any way, when she showed me the final result she kicked my hair on the ground over to me so i could see how much she cut. I thought that was rude and necessary. I would not recommend this place.

Girlfriend got a hair cut. Had to wait about 15 mins. It was worth the wait. Her cut and style was great

! MEN WITHOUT SHORT HAIR BEWARE! Of the five times I've gone there twice I had my hair shortened to under half an inch even though I tell them I want an 1.5 inches left. Two different hair cutters. MEN AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR HAIR SHORT.

Horrible experience, hairdresser was rude negative, incompetent and messed up my hair so bad I left in the middle of the haircut, never in my life have I experienced this. I asked for a little trim - take off 1" as I had long shaggy hair, the girl buzz cutted the side of my head when she told me to look down. Taking off to 2 1/2" instead of 1". The girl was so careless she didn't even apologize and made a huge scene! Zero integrity! Crazy people think they can get away with that attitude, behavior, & arrogance! Waste your time and leave you feeling like that, disgusting!

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me find a style that works for me and the prices are awesome.
