First Choice Haircutters

Great experience. Hairstylist Suzy is always our go to, however I went with my girls today and was able to get all three of our haircuts at the same time. Suzy, Mary and Cy were great!

Without any hesitation I can give 5* out of 5. Thank you Mis. Mary for your professionalism and customer friendly behaviour. Highly recommend place.

Never go to this place or see Mary my mom got a haircut she said it would be 30 all in we get a bill of 80 Mary never told my mom about the extra cost I was there with here for the whole time she's a liar

I have been coming here since I moved to Hamilton 16 years ago. I can afford to pay more for a haircut, but why would I when I can get a great cut here for a fraction of the price? The stylists are friendly, quick and talented. I especially appreciate Suzy's work.

You can make reservations on their website but they don't honour them. When you arrive it's first-come-first-serve even if you have a reservation.

I'm okay with first come first serve, but don't lie to me and pretend to make a reservation that's actually totally useless. I won't be visiting this location again.

I won't go there for hair cutting even if it's last day of my life. I can't choose this place even as a last choice. I got a haircut a bit days ago and I'm still regretting that why i went there. It was my first experience over there and i think i can't sugeest any guys to go to this place for a better haircut. I told her to do something else hairstyle on me and she did something else. I don't think so experienced hair stylist can make this mistake i might be the case that she don't want to pay attention or she don't care about her customers. This was terrible experience.

Probably the worst haircut I've ever had. The guy cutting my hair did what he wanted without listening to my request and when I asked if he could even it out, he said that's just how it is and I have to use product (I had to have my haircut again someplace else because it was so bad and uneven with pieces of hair sticking out and no amount of product could remedy it.)

Had a wonderful first experience with my 2 girls and mum. Excellent service, especially making the kiddos feel welcome and comfortable. Thanks so much ladies - we'll be back!

I've been using this location for my hair cuts for about 3 years now. I've never had to wait too long or sometimes at all to be served and have been happy with the quality of my haircut. The staff are friendly and I've enjoyed some nice light chats while in the chair.

This is the only place I go to get my hair cut. The staff is nice and friendly and have good conversations while getting my mop cut! Will go back as usual, next time I need a trimming!

I have to say, this is my shop! Always happy when I go there. Mary cuts my hair and does a wonderful job. The salon always clean, fair pricing considering inflation everywhere. Will be a return customer!

I received a haircut from Jessica last week, it was my first haircut outside of my own house (my dad has cut my hair for my entire life), ant it was so memorable. Jessica did an amazing job, I highly recommend!

Prices seem to get higher and higher every time I visit. Person who cut my hair seemed very impatient and not very pleasant in her demeanor.

Suzy is wonderful, I have been coming to this location for over 20 years because of her and 4 years ago I moved to Brantford but I still come and have only Suzy do my hair.

Why would you turn me down for lightlights when I gave you a 3 hour window. You lost good business.

Friendly, professional staff. Unfortunately the prices are high for a budget, chain salon. No discounts were offered three weeks ago when my mom could get neither a hair wash nor a blow dry which I believe was “covid” related, although our salon was offering both services.

Post-covid, they don’t seem all that interested. My little boy was covered in hair and they didn’t blow it off. Hair isn’t all that even at the back or top. They should be the experts but they seem bored. And they charged for a mask (which broke mid-cut because it wasn’t a kids mask) without telling me. Overall, just meh. Won’t go back.

I had an appointment today. When arriving i noticed no clients getting there temperatures taken. Upon asking mary if the stylist took theyre own temperatures I was told no. Therefore I did not get my service done and I strongly believe you should be taking more precautions to make sure everyone remains safe and healthy.

Friendly staff and they fixed my haircut that another place messed up. Will definitely recommend.

I had an appointment today with a lady named Bryce. I must say that this is the best haircut I've ever hadI've been trying to get layers done like this over the years and she's the only one who is done what I wanted.

I had been going there for years and was always happy. The last time I went there a man cut my hair and did a horrible job. I don't know his name but he was very rude about the other staff who cut my hair in the past in front of a waiting room full of people. I have found a new salon and will never go back.

Always had a great experience for years. But this morning when mary cut my hair she messed up. She did totally opposite what I asked for. She dont even know how to fade.
They should put a sign saying basic haircut only.

There’s a first choice haircutters location was the first place that I tried upon moving to Hamilton. With that being said, it has been the last place. The staff are always super friendly, always open to a good conversation, and they get the job done right. I would highly recommend this location to anybody. Also, it’s not too far from a restaurant or even Jackson Square if you wanted to stop and get a bite to eat afterwards.

I am SOLD 100% as a customer. I went to an independent salon, paid over $300 to have my hair bleached and recoloured. I realized after a week when i washed it, i had dark patches and the colour faded very rapidly. I went to First Choice and had Shanna revamp my colour. She basically blended the ends, did my roots and somehow magically blended it all beautifully. For a third of the cost. 2 months later, the colour still looks fantastic. OH! Btw, she had to finish the treatment during an unexpected blackout! Just because they cost less doesn't mean they can't make you fabulous. TRY IT!

Got my cut from Richard last week. Nice guy but ruined my cut. I keep a side part comb over. The hair that combs over by the part was cut much shorter than the hair in the middle. Now I have to wait four weeks for it to grow out before I can fix this. Not happy and won't be returning.

Good haircuts for the price. Have been going here for quite a long time. They have nice staff, and a not very long wait time. I recommend if you're in the area.
