First Choice Haircutters

Updating my review! I booked online which I love as an option. I didn't pick anyone in particular to cut my hair so when I arrived there were 2 ladies available to do my cut. I had Kirsten do my cut and I absolutely loved how she listened and cut my hair like I wanted. I will definitely be returning for her to do the job again. Thanks!

Went to this place to get blonde highlights over my brown hair. They turned out bright green. The hairdresser attempted 2 more times stating both times.this will definitely work! Nope it didn't. Bright god awful green again and again. Got charged $139 dollars for now over processed fried hair and bright green highlights. Run!

Had an absolutely amazing time today getting highlights! Jinny is so knowledgeable, kind, and talented in her practice! She gave me so much amazing information to take home with me and she did so great with my hair!

I took my son here a few days ago, we got Krista who is absolutely AMAZING! She listened to what we wanted, we showed her pictures for reference & she did the cute perfectly! My son absolutely adores her and she is so patient with him! We still love his hair cut! He’s going to look so cute for school we would definitely recommend getting your hair done by her.

I’ve been to this location twice. Both times I’ve asked for someone that can feather my bangs and get it out of my face, both times the women claimed they could do that. Both times it was a failure. My cut today doesn’t even look like it was touched, I told her 3 times what I wanted, even had my partner tell her and still nothing. I suggest if you want to get a haircut where they know what they’re doing, don’t go here. $30 dollars for her to comb my hair. I will never go to first choice again!

I went yesterday for a walk in as soon as they opened. I had a picture of the layered bob that I wanted and I showed my stylist Lisa what I wanted. She said she could do it and it looked great while it was wet and then when it started to dry it looked horrible. It is nothing like the picture I showed her and I am very upset and disappointed in my experience there.

Overpriced for the quality of cut received.

EDIT* The head manager of first choice reached out to me personally to address any issues I had during my last visit after receiving this review.

She apologized for the poor experience/quality/overcharge and vowed to make it right.
I was reimbursed for a portion of my Cut/Style and given a free haircut for the future.
For that, I feel it's only right to edit my review and add a star as the lengths gone to ensure i was satisfied were met regardless.

They did not do what I asked. Online I ordered a shampoo and she didn’t shampoo my hair. She also didn’t not use heat protection spray when curling. The lady sally did not cut my layers properly and told me it was due to lightning. While at sheer oasis they did a perfectly fine job with my hair. Would not recommend this place at all

Worst service ever. The wife went in there asking for no layers and they ruined her hair. She came home crying and will have to wait 2 years to grow it back out. She had beautiful long hair and they messed it up. She went in there for a simple straight trim. I do not recommend this place.

Wonderful service, and I got the haircut that I wanted. The wait wasn't too long, as long as you book your appointment and time.

I've been seeing Jinny Nightingale for many years. She is absolutely amazing at everything she does, from colouring to hairstyling.
She is very creative and never disappoints'. She encourages all my hairstyling crazy ideas and is completely honest. I would reccomend her to anybody asking for a hairstylist.

I Got my haircut 2 weeks ago, It was brutal, the lady who cut my hair was old, I showed the picture that I want for my hair style but she ruined my day just woke up at that time. It was horrible doing a job just for money and not passionate.

Great service at the north bay location, I was able to book with my stylist of choice…Jinny, she was on time and professional. Would highly recommend this location.

Showed up for my appointment, had to wait 45 min to be seen. Was rushed in the chair, one side of my head is longer then the other.waste of $40.thanks for nothing

Friendly and helpful, along with giving a good cut at a reasonable price. They also seem to have created some good bonds with the regular customers.

Never again! Don't like how they cut or operate! Horrible service. Went twice, 3rd times not for me. 29$ for hack job! I wouldn't even trust them to fix it, so I didn't ask, especially the adittude the girl at the desk gave me when we got there. I even kindly called and said I'd be 20min late and if that was ok and they said np and than got told when we got there that they might not be able to see us, even though they weren't even busy and had lots of time.
