First Choice Haircutters

Had my haircut with Sarah today she was awesome, very friendly, professional and she was a cutie!

Went for a quick haircut before meeting friends and its my first time here. Didn't know i needed a change of cloths for a hair cut (sarcasm). First they butchered my hair (i mean i have cut my own hair far better than they did multiple times) and second they dropped all the cut hairs on my white t shirt instead of brushing it off my neck (which i politely mentioned before the hair cut to be careful not to get on dress). I would rather not be rude to employees so when asked if its good, i just nodded, paid and left coz it was beyond saving at this point.

It was nice that I could make an appointment the same day. No waiting when I arrived. Good haircut but expensive.

100% satisfaction guaranteed BS. They butchered my 3 year old son’s haircut his hair resembles that of the characters in dumb and dumber. His head looks like a bowl, they cut into the hairline at the front. Then they blamed their incompetence on my husband who asked then to cut it short on the sides and leave it longer on the top. My child held relatively still throughout the cut. Then when I went complain about the haircut they would not hear it, just blamed it on my husband who did not have the clippers or scissors in his hands.
They preach 100% satisfaction but refused to try to fix it or refund the money. I will never use their services again.

I hate to be this person but went in for a wash, cut and style was fine for the most part. Friendly ish staff. But when it came down to it I was SHAKING in my chair as I knew something was wrong. Now I only ever go to my hairstylist and they have been booked for a while and just needed a trim. I came out with very choppy ends. Not even straight and am crying over how bad it looks. Not to mention it was $55 which doesn’t add up. Too expensive for a terrible haircut will not be back!

I’ve been coming here for over a year now.keep in mind that i would’ve rated this 5 stars a couple months back.never had an issues, and the staff was always super nice and talkative.came here about a week and a half ago, and barely recognized the place.there must be new stylists because i didn’t recognize a single person in this salon.needless to say the owner or whoever’s in charge needs to double check who they hired because i am disappointed.as soon as i walked in the lady at the front was rude.unsure of her name but she had black hair.i walk in and ask if i can book an appointment for a bangs trim.and she goes “ummm so you mean a haircut” with a very judgmental look on her face.right off the bat i’m getting a bad feeling about this place, as first impressions are often made right as you walk into the door.these people should be welcoming.anyways, it’s time for me to get my bangs trimmed (oh sorry haircut). The girl cutting my hair was young, tall and had a buzz cut (believe her name was kennedy but i could be wrong). FIRST OF ALL she didn’t even say a word to me.not even a hello.this shouldn’t be up to the customer to keep conversation with stylists.they are trained and being paid to work with people.secondly, she SOAKED my hair and didn’t even blow dry it afterwards, it was cold out also.and when she went to cut my bangs she didn’t even ask how much i wanted cut off, and i had to stop her and ask for less.i’m not a stylist.why am i doing her job for her.very disappointed and sure as heck will NOT be coming back.was once a loyal customer as well.too bad the place is falling apart.i’d rate this 0 stars if i could.horrible service

My son just got his haircut. One sideburn looks like a chunk, the other one is missing. Crooked at the back and looks like a child cut it for him.

Book now option is fictional. The last two times used the wait has been 45min after my 'scheduled appointment'. First choice, don't offer it if you can't meet it, is not fair to your customers.

The haircuts have been good, the experience not so much.

Tried to get a haircut, wanted a pile of personal information to get a haircut. Wouldn't give me a haircut without knowing my life story. You don't need my personal information and is an invasion of privacy. Won't be back.

Edited. I was in contact with owner who was very helpful and listened to my concerns. I felt listened to and was addressed very professionally and will be giving this business another try.arrived with my kids was told would only be 30 mins wait.i pointed to my car asking if i could wait there due to covid precautions.i was told yes just check in in a half hour. I watched a lady pull up into a parking spot with her three kids AFTER me. When i checked back in at half hour i was told unfortunately there were still three people ahead of me who were the three kids who arrived after me. She blatantly lied as i watched them pull up after me. If this was true i was standing outside they could have informed me about a longer wait. Absolute horrible customer

Got my haircut there and asked to have it blended on the side.they said it was blended well and was hardly at all and didnt even match on the 2 sides

Fast friendly service. Making the best out of a bad situation with all the rules during this crazy time. Best hair cut in the city! Very professional atmosphere!

Booked my appointment online and got in right on time. Hair was very overgrown from the last lockdown. I wanted to try something new and that's what I got thanks to Sarah! She was very professional, but fun! I love when the staff actually interact with me and I am not just left sitting there awkwardly the entire haircut. Haircut turned out great: nice texture, layers, versatile so I can change things up! Felt nice to get all that hair off my head, and it was nice that it was such a good experience.

Love the stylists at FCH on Chemong Rd! Lisa is my go-to girl, but they are all great! Clean, friendly and professional atmosphere. Awesome job keeping up with the craziness of this pandemic!

I used to go here for haircuts. They just reopened. They have a sign on the window that says call for appointment or use website.
I called. Twice. Both times I was told they don't do appointments and the only way to get service was to visit. So I visited. Used my vehicle to drive up and was refused entry when I got there. Was told to wait outside. When girl finally came outside I was told earliest chance for a haircut was a three hour wait. Wait outside, or come back. Then, the girl asked why didn't I call ahead.
What a joke. I have better things to do.
Phoned 3 other haircutting places in Peterborough and all 3 of them were offering guarantees appointments over the phone.
Think I'll go where my business is wanted.

I have gone here for many years and find the staff very courteous, friendly and very skilled at their jobs. I particularly find Lisa Kelly, my usual hairstylist, one of the best I have ever had. All the staff are super friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would not hesitate to let and of them colour, cut and style my hair, when Lisa is not available. I give them FIVE Stars.

Kathleen is the best, she tries her best to stay on time with her appointment. Always amazing colour and cut, great prices also.

Amazing service. With the pandemic keeping them from working. After my haircut looked like they haven't been closed at all. Loved the style they gave me. And I am very picky as to how my hair is cut. Attitude was beyond appreciated. Made me feel very comfortable, very friendly always making conversation. Where I've been to several other locations and seems they just want your haircut and your money and you gone so they can move on to the next customer. If there was an option to give more stars I definitely would for this location.

Placed me near this plaza, they were very helpful and practicing covid distance and limited numbers. The haircut was done within 15 min and

Terrible place to get your hair dyed. I went in and asked to have my hair dip dyed red. I was hoping for a very vibrant red (like totally unnatural red), and I repeatedly pointed to what I wanted colour wise and showed a past picture of what I had. Last time I had done this, I did it at a different salon, and they had to bleach my hair because I have dark hair. First Choice insisted that they wouldn't have to bleach my hair to get the vibrant look I wanted (and that it would be cheaper if I didn't bleach) and they picked out the red that I didn't want, and it wasn't the vibrant red I was looking for. But they insisted it would be vibrant like I wanted. She asked how much of my hair I wanted red and I showed her, but she went way above the line. The power had gone out (not anything related to them, it had gone out everywhere) so I couldn't dry it before I left and see the end result. When I got home and dryed it I was not impressed with the result at all. The cost had been $102 and I didn't even bleach my hair. Ridiculous price, considering I did it before at a professional salon, had it bleached (with much longer hair, I should mention) and it came to $80. Thankfully I didn't have to pay because the power went out, but I was not impressed. It's only been a few days since and my hair is already looking orange. I also asked her to cut side bangs and I'm not impressed with how those look either.

Horrible. They don't pay any attention to what you actually want. Despite repeatedly showing a photo to the hair stylist of an edgy pixie cut with directions to make the one side much shorter than the other, we left with a back angled bob. This after an hour and a half of cutting. My daughter was refusing to go to school like that so back we went. I again showed another stylist the photo with distinct instructions that it not look at all like a Bob cut, that one side be much shorter angled to the longer side. I had to repeatedly tell her my daughter does not nor will she wear her hair tucked behind her ears as it causes headaches (we both have big ears so I understand) and that it was not short enough. We will NEVER go here again. My daughter will go to see Jess Gale at her salon in omemee instead, as she is a professional who gives great results.

The hairdresser was rude and insulted me. I told her I had just had a baby 6 days prior and she looked at my belly and said "are you sure there isn't another baby still in there. " I felt like strangling her and gave her zero tip. She should be fired.
