On the day of he was amazing, did the work quickly and efficiently, and it looks brand new! I came across this company online while searching for alternatives to remodel my bathroom. They were responsive to my calls and very knowledgeable. I had my bathtub and wall enclosure refinished along with a floating floor installed. I saved a lot of money versus a full renovation and this only took a full day to complete. They were on time and found them reliable. Consider refinishing if you are looking for a hassle free alternative. Thanks for the wonderful job!

This company is truly awful. They did a terrible job on our bathtub. It peeled over and over again and they never fixed it properly. They also don’t return your calls once they finish a bad job. They wasted a lot of our time and money. Now we have to get a reputable company to fix their poor quality of service and it’s costing so much money. Do NOT use this company.

We used First Choice Refinishing to install laminate flooring, refinish kitchen cabinets, and refinish our bathtub and wall enclosure. The results were amazing and I was extremely satisfied. We saved alot of money versus replacement of the kitchen cabinets and bathtub alone. Everything looks like new again and I am happy I went this route. Thank you for the wonderful work I will refer you to anyone I know looking for this service.

If you are looking to get any tub and tile refinishing done, and you don’t read any other part of this review, take my sincere advice and stay away from this company.

In June 2020 I contacted “First Choice Tub and Tile Refinishing” (previously known as Toronto Tub & Tiles Refinishing). At first Mark, the owner was responsive. I asked a number of follow-up questions and Mark was semi-responsive at best. Still, for the price, we moved forward.
At the end of June, Mark came to my home to spray my tub and tiles. The house at this point was not being lived in and the enamel was left to cure for nearly a month until we moved in. At first glance, the work was OK at best. The tub was clearly not cleaned out properly and there were “sharp” spots of dust or debris that had been trapped, along with a number of short hairs. I wasn’t very happy with how the tub felt but it was an acceptable 6/10 job.

In September, after only 3 months of use, the enamel around the drain began to peel and another area where a hair had been trapped came loose. The tub was looking like a mess. At first, I emailed Mark asking for him to take a look and ultimately honour the refinishing warranty. After a week I did not hear back. This is where the phone call after phone call and email after email trying to get in touch part happened. Finally, after nearly three weeks, on an off chance, a startled Mark actually answered the phone. He said he did not receive any of my multiple emails, phone calls or voice mails but he would send someone a few weeks later. He told me a date and a time frame. I asked Mark if he would send me a reminder email. He said, not needed, “It’s in the book”. Just in case, I sent an email to remind Mark of our scheduled appointment the night before.
Well, to no one’s surprise, no one showed up at our house. Multiple phone calls later lead nowhere, and I literally could not be bothered to send another email.

Bottom line: Mark and “First Choice Tub and Tile Refinishing” do not care about the quality of their work and they do not care about their customers.

DO NOT use this company. I’ve been trying to contact them and no response for 5 weeks. We have a warranty for 4 years and I guess they are waiting for it to expire (still have a year and a half remaining). The tiles are peeling EVERYWHERE. And according to the warranty they are able to fix it as it’s a defect in the application as we have followed all of their care instructions. But nobody is getting back to me. It’s crazy unprofessional.

I have contracted First Choice Tub and Tile Refinishing to perform a bathtub re-glazing in my house. They were able to offer me the glaze color that I was looking for (not everyone does that). The response was amazing, the job was very well done in a prompt and professional way.
The tub came up as new, you cannot tell that it was re-glazed.

Hired first choice to refinish 6 bathtubs in my triplex unit I own in Toronto. I found them to be quick and responsive. Job was completed in a timely manner and results were better than I expected. Hired this company to do a few services for me which include installation of laminate flooring, refinishing of my kitchen cabinets and refinishing of the bathtub in my ensuite. I found them to be very professional and I was very happy with there work. I recommend them as a reliable company to hire, everything went smooth from start to finish!

I am a realtor and still currently using First Choice Refinishing to provide there services to my clients since 2019. I have used them mostly to refinish numerous bathtub and kitchen cabinet projects for me. Also had them paint a couple houses from top to bottom. Very happy with there service and had no issues at all. I will continue to use there services and recommend them for anyone looking for a good company.

Seeing a few negative reviews on here I decided to post my own personal experience. I hired First Choice tub and tile refinishing on January 23 2017 to have a bathtub and wall tile reglazed, to date I have zero issues with there product and workmanship. They are professional, kind and tidy with there work. Being said that I contacted them last week to use there services once again to have my other bathroom refinished. I did add a few renovation services in there, I never knew they offered like installing laminate flooring and painting of 3 bedrooms and they did a wonderful job. Extremely happy with there work don't let a couple negative reviews throw you off can't please everyone. Highly recommend them! Thanks First Choice.

Our main level bathtub had a crack, & water was leaking into the basement. First Choice Tub and Tile Refinishing took a look, & recommended they repair the crack with fiberglass & glaze the tub; they did the same for our sink, since there was a crack in it too. They claimed that it will be as good as new, & that it's a permanent solution that's much less expensive than replacing the tub (although it still isn't cheap).

After many calls & messages that they didn't answer, & eventually getting back to us to reschedule a few times, they finally arrived quite late to do the work. We weren't sure if they ever would arrive, since they seemed so unreliable.

Once the work was done, it looked nice & new. However, after about 4 months, the glazing started to peel in both the tub & sink, & 1 month later, the crack reappeared, larger than before, & water leaked into the basement again.

We tried many, many times, over days & weeks to contact the company, but they did not answer the phone, & did not return our calls & emails. I even went to the address where they claim their office is located in the hope that I might speak to someone, but after looking all over, I discovered they were nowhere to be found.

Finally, after many attempts, we reached the company; they claimed they'd honour the warranty & fix the problem. On the phone, they made excuses, like it must be a structural issue; we don't have that problem, & if they were reputable, wouldn't they check before they started the work?

We figured that even if they did fix it, we'd be back in the same situation again in a few months, so it's pointless. I highly doubt they would have shown up anyway. I requested instead that they provide a partial refund & they refused.

We've had a few contractors provide a solution, & they all said that fixing a crack in a tub this way is a Band Aid solution; the tub must be replaced. They also commented on First Choice Tub and Tile Refinishing's shoddy workmanship.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with! Avoid them at all cost! Save yourself the aggravation, headaches, & wasted money, & get a professional, reputable company to replace the tub instead.

Got my tub refinished. Perfectly done. No leaks, no cracks after a couple months. Reasonable price.

Do not waste your time with this company. Such an unprofessional company.

Edit: after the owner replied to my review that they will reach out to me "to make things right" they still did not reach out to me. I ended up caulking the tub myself.

To the untrained eye they seem like they do a "good" refinish job on the tub. I have attached several pictures of their poor workmanship. Trapped debris under the the finish, excessive coating applied which resulted in dripping marks.

They also mentioned they charged extra due to them having to "remove" or dismantle the drain. I have also attached pictures which prove they did nothing to the drain. There were also two people in the house at the time of them doing the work who vouch that they did NOT communicate to us that there will be extra charges.

Another reason they gave for the price increase, after I left this review was "due to the bathtub being previously refinished" this was evident when they first quoted the job (refer to the screen capture of the text messages with the pictures) so this should not have been a surprise.

Here is my experience with them. They quoted the bath tub refinish will cost $400 as indicated by the screen capture. Then after finishing the job they said the new price is $680 as indicated by the warranty paper.

After getting paid, they left the bathtub not caulked and after trying to reach them they said they offered to send someone out and charge me $75 to caulk the bath tub.

I had a small problem after the job was completed and they came through and rectified the situation in a timely manner. Very polite and understanding. Will use them again for future projects.
