I have purchased and sold many instruments at Folkway over the years, and it’s always a great experience. They have the best selection of vintage instruments and to me they are easily the best store in Canada, and maybe the planet. Mark Stutman is a legend in the guitar world and they have a great and friendly staff. You can’t go wrong shopping at this beautiful store

Stopped by for my first time today. They were busy - the phone rang a ton, and yet the sales team did a great job balancing those needs while still giving me their attention. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. There are some places you can just tell the staff loves working at. This is one of those places.

. And that's without getting into the incredible inventory they have on the walls!

I stoped by Folkway Music for the first time last week to check some their instruments and get to know the store and their people. From the first time I walked thru the doors I felt very welcomed. I was greeted by Richard who took the time to explained the rational of their floor layout and invited me to play any instrument I wanted. I was very curious about their vintage guitars collection so I went straight to this are of the store. These instruments were in top shape, the playability was amazing, they were very clean and they all had tags detailing what they were and how much they cost. I also played some of their new guitars and they also were amazing, great selection. At the human level the people I interacted with treated me very good, they answered all my questions. There was not judgement or any negativity, they took me seriously, treated me with respect and encouraged me spend as much time as I wanted trying out their instruments. I felt no pressure and was left with lots of space to play until my hard was content. I will buy a guitar from this store in a hard bit and I will recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality guitar, new or vintage. Beautiful store dwelled with warm and knowledgeable people!

If your guitar (acoustic, electric, or bass) needs some attention and care Folkway is an excellent place to take it. Staff there have the expertise and experience to do the job right.

I have bought quite a few guitars (and other stuff) from Folkway Music and I can say it has always been a great experience with full satisfaction from my side. The instruments description is always spot on and faithful in details to the conditions. The pictures are most likely the best in the business and if any work will be performed by their workshop on the instruments you can be sure it will be of the highest quality. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Among the best guitar shops I have ever been to, anywhere. The staff are absolute pros and we’re so helpful and accommodating when I made several trips to the shop and sat for hours trying different instruments.

The variety and level of instruments is impressive. They seemed to have quite a stock of some of the best guitars you could possibly find as well as medium and entry level ones that seemed carefully curated to make sure your get something great at whatever price point.

The repair shop was excellent as well, and I had a pickup installed and some other minor work done. For steel string and electric I’m not sure you get your guitar in better hands!

Again, amazing guitar shop. Highly recommend.
