Food Basics

Food basics is good for when you are on the run, pretty close to the High Way 427, not that big a super store but you can get almost anything you looking for.

Store was not that clean. The prints and food was spilled all over the produce aisles.
Aisles are small & narrow, feels you will bump into other person, not great idea to visit during this ongoing pandemic.
Cashier was so good, great experience with her, helpful, patient & fast.

Good for groceries but sometimes you have to search for particular item in different stacks because they mess up some items every time. Store was clean and sanitized.

Watched a man allow an elder lady infront of him in line only to push his full shopping cart right out, without paying informed the cashier and noone did anything about it. Good stuff!

Situated on main road which is Very convenient. But very less options are available as compared to other grocery stores in the nearby areas. The prices are also on higher side compared to other grocery stores. Staff behaviour was good, they were helping customers to find the things they needed.

Michael helped me look for a salad dressing that was supposed to be in stock - but wasn't. He went out of his way to help me - great guy, thank you! Good international foods selection. Store is old and could use a reno, but I still go out of my way to shop here. Besides Michael, the store is looking really bad. The vegetables (celery, mint, small carrots) that I needed were just disgraceful. Old, withered mint. Woody broken celery, old whiteish carrots.really bad. I'm not sure what the produce manager is up to, but maybe he is on vacation. You should promote Michael - he really cares about people and his job!

Great place for standard grocery items. Good produce. The meat department is a bit lacking in variety of cuts and the quality of cuts is only economy. Dairy and grocery is well merchandised. They cater to a bit of the European crowd.

Always good. Stock quantities available and great selection. Bread fresh but sometimes stock gone quickly. Staff great helpful and courteous to customers especially seniors like who is 73 with a walker.

This is my 'go to' discount grocery store. They generally have stock on hand for sale items and they have a good selection of meat, poultry and seafood. Expect to see a reasonable selection of produce, dairy, and grocery items. I often see the employee s working their tail off to restock meat and produce.

It’s mismanaged stores like this that contribute to our high number of COVID cases.

This store was an absolute Zoo!
They are NOT following capacity rules and allowing a high volume of people in the store.

It’s impossible to stay 6 feet away from others! Check out lines flooded the isles and no one is around to guide folks to quicker lines or direct them as to where to stand.

The store is messy with products thrown all around and empty cardboard boxes throughout the isles.

While the store is in complete disarray I see the manager just strolling around not even wearing his mask correctly.

If you want to stay COVID safe stay away from this location!

This is a nice tiny grocery store for your very simple basic grocery needs nothing fancy here the store is geared up for seniors with amazing prices and weekly specials throughout the entire store every week

Great place to shop.great selection.for more choice and great prices well worth the trip inside and shopping experience. Everything I needed I was able to find and then so much more.far too many food stores these days promise food service.good selection and fair variety.but they mostly fall short.

Very crowded every time I've been shopping there. The parking situation is just a free for all. Beware of cars speeding through the lot and parking wherever the feel like. Bring change to unlock a shopping buggy

Whole store smells like tobacco, employees seem irritated if ask for help, manager seemed similar, May Jesus Yahweh bless us all

Not the best Food Basics I've been to but very conveniently located for me. Pretty good prices compared to Metro and have deals going on during the week. Some issues I have, the lineups are crazy long on the weekends, not enough cashiers working during rush, limited space to move around in the aisles when packed, a bit dingy looking inside, and lastly, the bread selection sucks. Other than that, usually has what I need.

OMG If you want to be slim and fit, shop here for not products (never in stock) but for an eternal raincheck which never gets encashed for lack of products on shelf. Always making you run around and keeping you in shape without joining fit4less! Try it if you don't believe.

Not a great deal of selection at this location (such as no health section - vitamins, meds, etc.) as it is a bit on the smaller side. However, I go here for the specials (check the weekly flyer) and those are typically available. Best decription is adequate. No bells and whistles. It's a Food Basics. Nuff said

Not the cleanest place, and the produce section is hit or miss, sometimes fresh, but sometimes outright rotten. The flyer deals can be good for the rest of the store, but for similar savings and the bonus of pc points you're better off going to the no frills down past Bloor and Islington.

I like the produce, products, meats and whole chicken (cooked). Sales are good too. I like this store!

I only go to this location because it's on my way home. They never have their advertised specials in stock. Stockers are not at all helpful. There's only 1 lady and she usually works the express lane who's very polite and friendly. The last straw was when I bought bananas there. They looked beautiful on the outside but were brown and mushy on the inside. Then I noticed that they were actually leaking. Couldn't believe my eyes. Never again!

This grocery store provides excellent service, great prices and always a friendly smile. Robert, Nick and their staff provide yeoman service. I shop at this store weekly, for my Dad and my groceries. The produce section is amazing, and always well stocked, fresh, organized, and they have a variety of selection. They have fresh, cooked, delicious, barbequed chickens available. The meat, dairy, frozen, baked, dried foods sections never disappoint, and if the product is not on the shelf, the staff will promptly check the backroom, or advice you as to the status of delivery. I purchase their outdoor flowers yearly, and they last in my garden for the entire summer/fall. Their outdoor Christmas plants/wreaths, last forever, and beautify my home outdoors. This grocery store is invaluable to me. Thanks so much for the excellent shopping experience.

Very good location. Lotsa parking. Only pain is having to pay for your cart and get it outside, no carts available in the store itself.

Love shopping here. Food is inexpensive.the store is mostly clean except for corn on the cob season. Great store

Usual shop there on a weekday evening and they are fast, efficent and very well stocked location

Comparable in pricing vs. No Frills. It has lots of free parking as well as some electric car charging spots. Overall a decent location for your everyday shopping needs.

Food Basics always has super deals but this location is always picked over. You'd probably have better luck and selection first thing in the morning. Bring your own grocery bags as boxes are rarely available.

Went to 2 grocery stores before food basics and couldn't find what I was looking for and food basics had everything I was looking for!
