I found everything I was looking for. The only annoying thing were the self-checkout kiosks because the worker there kept on having to scan her pass so we could continue scanning our items. The system kept on telling us to remove items from the bagging area and would not allow us to continue scanning, so I think that should be changed in the future to speed up the process of paying and scanning.

Very surprising good value and availability of produce. More people in the area should concider this place as a good all round food source as it has a variety that is useful for everyday living

Usually I go 2 times a week,
Try to go at weekends because there are discount available on specific items. Most of thr things are available and even Indian food are available at reasonable cost.
While as of inflation groceries have become expensive but overall it is good

If there was zero stars available i could hv given that, worst customer service, rude supervisors, prices displayed are different from the actual scanning price and if pointed out never accept their mistake. Would never come to this place

Poorly maintained store with items always out of stock and debit machines malfunctioning. Most of the staff members are rude the front cashier lead is a xenophobic. Will definitely take that extra time to drive to a different place then shop at this location

Absolutely rude, disgusting, I'll mannered, horrible cashier. This is my second encounter with this lady who literally makes a poker face, is xenophobic, neither says hi nor thanks, doesn't ask for bags and above all dumps the receipt as if she is doing any favour by serving me. She isn't doing any charity and should adhere to professional standards of customer service. Such people should be reprimanded by the management for letting the community and store down.

Me experience in basic food, to messy, People wuanderful, and not complain, I, wish next time be more organized, and more specials.thanks basics food.

Also there zucchini is so soft and damaged I would purchase it, terrible place. I have been shopping here for years but is really become run down store. Would not recommend it!

The worst customer service experience. Here is where I feel that racism still exists in Canada.

For reasonable shopping, this is the place to be in. You will get almost all options for daily house needs here.

I was shocked from the service I got from a cashier worker there she is beautiful inside and out i have major anxiety and she helped me in every way her name was Carla ive been there a couple times and only go to her everyone else is bitter and rude she is the ONLY one who shows kindness.

Not the biggest stores I believe, no Deli department, but they have almost everything that you will look for in the flyer.

Clean and well managed. Located in a nice little plaza at Kennedy and Vodden.

Dirty old store, just like the mall it's attached to. Shopping carts are poorly maintained. People are rude. The cashiers are polite. Food basics, we deserve better

This place! They need to do better. I went to the food basics in the wanless plaza and realized again just how horrible this food basics is. If I could give zero I would. Consistantly the fruit is usually spoiled or on its way to be spoiled. And the place looks like it's in need of being cleaned.

The wanless food basics in a more affluent location looks so much better and the fruit is fresher. The store is organized and all. Please do better, just because this store is not in a rich neighborhood does not mean that you should let store standards slide so low. Do better!

I like this food basics as compare to others.
Sometimes gets really good deals on Indian grocery.
Customer service is always great.
Plenty of parking area available.
Sometimes they run of trollies and you have to wait to get one.
Most of the groceries are in stock.

Clean. The staff was helpful. The cuts of meat were good quality. We were able to find everything we needed. The store observes the rules for Covid too.

Food Basics on Vodden Street is best place to buy everyday groceries. Good prices and good service.

I bought ground chicken here and when I started to cook it, it smelled so bad that I literally threw up a few times I put it in a bag as quickly as possible th throw in the trash outside and while doing so vomited 3 times. I'm a nurse with a strong stomach but this has got to be the worst thing I have ever smelled.
Also I once saw edoes with mold on them, I think it's only safe to buy non perishable items here.

The customer service received at this location today, and many other days, was absolutely HORRIBLE and I will not be returning. Management needs to seriously evaluate their staff and the expectations they have in their performance as this is not the first time a staff has been dismissive, unreliable and aggressive in their response. A cashier left myself and many other customers waiting for nearly 10 minutes, I kid you not, without even communicating to us so that perhaps we could go join another line. When asked to call for back-up/management, as they were cashing out lottery tickets (last I checked this is a grocery store and perhaps customers with that particular purchase need could at least be informed they have will have to wait) the cashier proceeded to get rude and indicated we MUST wait, they would not call for back-up and the lottery purchases were the priority (paraphrased), all while shrugging shoulders and turning their backs to us customers. I do not experience this type of POOR customer service at other grocery competitors, and like I said not my first time being met by rude staff, so I will take my purchase needs elsewhere. I immediately went to another store at the next intersection where I was met with friendly cashiers/staffing fleet. Good customer service is the least a store can provide.

These 2 Asian employees called out my daughter. 1 said he owned the store. Granted it was wrong to put things in her backpack but we had 2 transactions and I wanted to see if it would fit he called her a dike and said we dint know where hes from. Really?

Great place to shop groceries.
They dont do price match but most of the time their prices are lowest.

I used to go at this store regularly for groceries but it’s not as maintaining as it used to be.

I don't know what's happened, but so many goods are missing at that store.
Shelves are empty.

Great place to shop. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. The veggies are always super fresh and they have a nice variety of flowers too.

Exceptional service from manages and staff. Clean store very organized. Amazing job in enforcing covid rules. My new favourite grocery store! Steve is a great store manager! Very friendly and helpful keep up the great work!

It is what it is!

Priority right now is taking extra precautions in response to COVID. Please ensure and most importantly, take steps such as having onsite active Security and educational posters that address certain situations so other customers do not have to (i.e. Stop handling all the fruit and vegetables with your hands then not buying it, stop taste testing fruits - munching over the display maskless, keep a distance of 6', wear your mask properly over nose and mouth) etc. Some seem to need constant reminders & policing at this time.

We must all work together and comply to stop the spread of covid.

This store is conveniently located, has organized merchandise for ease of shopping and is well stocked.

Would not come back here at all. Noticed employees wearing only plastic mouth shields, no masks. And their in-store radio spoke about social distancing, but the cashier didn't bother to wait until I was done before calling the next customer, which resulted in said customer squeezing by me to get through because he only had 1 item. I had to yell at him to step back. I felt incredibly unsafe. Store employees need to do a better job of managing lines and distancing, and I will never, ever come back to a place where employees are not wearing masks, especially around food. Absolutely shameful.

I really like this location. Staff is very friendly store is cleaned and well organized. Prices are okay but sometimes i feel they are little high.

I mean it's a good basics but it's at Kennedy and Biden. Who in there right mind wants to be there?

Clean place, social distancing is clearly in effect; carts and baskets are sanitized. The layout is also good and different/ good supply of foods from various nationalities.

Good service, clean store. However, low back stock. If it's not on the shelf, chances are they are out.

Like shopping there because I feel that their vegetables move fast. Overall the store is well kept, except for the long line up to get to the counter of payment, it's understandable because of the Covid19. Line ups should be like WalMart, keep your distance and lines are short.

No line up to get in, but there is one when you want to check out. Masks are mandatory while inside, social distancing as well.

The fruits need to be fresher and place needs to look cleaner. All doable. I don't see them wiping the carts, you have to do that which is disappointing. Also the garbage bag to toss the used paper towel was just filled to capacity. Honestly I realize they are not located in the most affluent neighborhood in Brampton but they need to do better!

I love the fresh bellpeppers that I get from here, not only this, I also love the wafers for the price and the quality. Just amazing!

Very poor customer service. I went there at 8am this morning to get corn on the cob and they didn't have it. Fine. The guy said it would be in at 10am. After 10am I called to confirm that they had corn on the cob and the girl said, "Yes, we do. " So I drove back there especially just to get that and guess what? It never came in: (

Good convenient location, bit smaller in size but keeps all the stuff, not much traffic compare to other competitor stores. Also never out of on-sale merchandise as compare to other stores where sale items are missing on shelves sometimes. Good location Kennedy & Vodden. Gym, party store, pizza store and Tim hortons.

The store is well maintained, and generally well stocked. If you buy any produce like apples, oranges and mostly even strawberries, expect a few to be bad or even mouldy. It has to be intentional, so I just pick everything myself and bag them.
Apart from that, the staff (mostly cashiers) can be and usually are rude. There are a few that are very polite and deserve accolades' However for the most part if you mind your own business, you mostly won't feel offended.

If you can overlook the staff, the store is 4+

It is a well organized grocery store, that offers friendly & very helpful services, especially for people with disabilities! Their prices are great, as I'm constantly doing price comparisons to stay on a good budget!

Got some great deals, appreciate the fact that they have a guaranteed in stock policy, but unfortunately one of the few stores that won't price match.

Seriously! Two lanes open with lines down the store isn't good for anyone! No one wants to wait half an hour with melting groceries.

We were there to buy gift cards, Mr. Jacob (Said he s manager) refused and his attitude was not good. He said he is the one who make rules and won't sell us. I don't think so rules are different for Food basics of different locations. I would like you to investigate and ask Mr. JACOB AND PLEASE tell him to change his behaviour. That can affect the Food basic's business with the other customers.

Staffer that was working the lottery counter wasn't very knowledgeable about OLG products and somewhat moody probably because she was overwhelmed with the lottery and the express check out at the same time. Supervisory staff probably could have done a better job with the staffing at that moment.

A vibrant grocery store that meets the hunger needs of the community. Very competitive pricing that attracts those who need to feed a family on a fixed budget, and seniors who need that extra smile. Lots to offer for parties, cakes and desserts priced right, and also an assortment of pop and chips to choose from. Look in the isles and ends for deals on certain food items. Enjoy!

Always busy place. Staff is good and pretty happy. If chicken going on special, you can't find them. Most of the time out of stock.
