Supervisor or team leaders you can do better in staffing on cash I have been coming here 6yrs every weekend so I do have a say there is only one girl name tag (JOSIE T) working cash the store is super clean but not everyone knows how to use a self checkout after one person came to assist this young lady still had to leave her register to assist her a confrontation broke out because of the frustration and she still had to assist in that again left everyone like WTH are we paying for street food or what even yet better organized i hope to god you ppl paying this young lady what she deserve smh we all know how the system is when it comes to overworking a person then business owners like you individuals wonder why no one wants to stay and yes for all who ready this sometimes we should give respect to the young people we see trying again kmt

Clean. Good prices on the basics. Nice produce. You can get some snacks and items that you cannot get at other stores. Their meat specials from their flyer can be quite good

The store is clean and packed well, also the staff or nice and I like how they give opportunity to student hope they are giving the students discount and benefits from what I see they work hard and very pleasant.

A grocery chain selling reasonable priced fresh fruit, meat and deli and other grocery items. The store is clean and bright though comparatively smaller than those in large cities.

Affordable groceries. They stock a lot of items for our daily needs. I usually buy rice and coffee in here. Also fruits and vegetables. Their meat and chicken also reasonably priced. Watch for their weekly sale, it's a good bargain. They also sell cooking oil on sale regularly. The place is clean and neat.

Very clean and organized grocery store. Never have I had a poor customer experience in this location. The staff are wonderful. I actually enjoy shopping in this location. Keep up the amazing work FB Pickering!

So disappointed. They do not honor their own flyer prices. Apparently you have to find the flyer for that store.
I guess Freshco, No Frills and Real Canadian Superstore get my business. I can price match Food Basics prices there. Food Basics won't even match their own prices.

I wish i can give this food basic location NEGATIVE 1 star.how is it that only location does not do price match with the flyer from food basic but on flip.
I have been told that this location has its own flyer and the sale you see on the flip app does not apply to them. And its food basic flyer on flip. Yea id say just avoid this location. I hope they demolish this location and put up a condo building. I wont miss this food basic location.

Got a shopping cart, wiped the handle with wipes provided at the entrance, just in case! Fresh fruit and vegetables nicely laid out, all aisles had shelves that were neatly stocked with merchandise and of course friendly, helpful staff on hand to assist, even walking you over to the product. Fast checkout and you're on your way. They've added a self-checkout section which makes it faster if you've got just a few items, plus there's a staff member present if you need help with items that are not barcoded. Masks are now optional but the plexiglass barriers are still up at the checkout lanes with cashier's.

I really enjoy this food basics. It's a little small but seems to have everything you really need. The produce is good and the staff are friendly. There is no deli, bakery, or on site butcher. They also do not price match but generally the prices are quite competitive to make up for it.

Plan to shop when it's less busy because the cashier area is cramped and becomes congested easily.

What a great store. Very friendly staff and all cashier stations were open. I grew tired of my regular store and tired this store for the first time. I am so happy that I chose to try this store. Great job the management team is doing here to have so many staff on hand. And the single line moved quickly.

Good pricing very clean. They have staff sipping freezer door handles the carts look as though they just came out of the shower

Excellent service. Miriam was a great help in getting my bags packed;an out of the way service performed by a cashier, for a person with mobility issues, amidst this relentless virus.

Worst food basics everrrrrrr
The line all the way to the back of the store on a Saturday all because y'all can't get more than 1 teenager to work cash?
Dirty, things expired, employees playing basketball with the food. And to top it off, things are so expensive in comparison to anywhere else.
Go to Walmart or somewhere else, it's not worth it here.

Mold on too many of the plastic container berries. Workers don't check or throw out.
Paying the same price elsewhere so you think they could be better. Poor and neglected management.

This is my go to grocery store for the most part. The staff are normally very friendly and prices are reasonable. Today however when I was checking out, there were two young people, one cashing me out and the other sitting next to the cashier chatting about personal stuff with the odd 'F' bomb being part of the conversation. Time and place for these conversations to happen such as on break but not while serving customers.

A place you would love to go back again n again, cheap, with full of variety n every thing u need

This place is very clean for a Food Basics and there is plenty of parking as well. Otherwise, it's a pretty typical supermarket shopping experience.

They do not allow one person in and one out. They let 10 people out and then 10 out. They c ount in tens.

SMALL STORE BUT POLITE EMPLOYEES AND THAT MAKES THE RTORE! TGE YOUNG MAN AT THE DOOR NOT ONLY GOT ME THE ELECTRIC CART HE CAME OUT AND BROUGHT THE CART BACK! PEOPLE THIS IS THE WAY CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE TREATED! THANKS CRAZYBEAR OUT!

Aisles can get super crowded but they do a good job maintaining the store and the employees are very nice. No complaints.
I would say they best time to go (if weekend groceries is your thing) is just before lunchtime, like 9-11am.

Multiple visits with different cashiers at this location. Cashiers are rude and don't care about service at all, as if they are giving away product for free. One was so rude that I asked to speak with a supervisor and she claimed she was the supervisor, so I asked to speak with the store manager and she claimed she was the manager. There was nowhere to go with this woman, so I left the store disappointed. Is this the service level you train your employees with? I will take my business to Ajax with 2 stores and much better atmosphere.

This store is well organized, clean and very well lit. The produce and meats are fresh and we'll priced.

People using express lane with to many items, because its the only cashier open.

Brand new location just off White's Rd very clean and organized not much surching for the items I need

Really great prices and a decent selection of organic produce. Plus the tiny shopping carts for kids are adorable!

I was very pleased to see how clean and organized the store was. I didnt have my daughter with me on this trip, but I know she will be happy to shop with mama next time with her shopper in training cart! Or even the tractor cart! I will definitely be back again. Such a large selection of different products, and the ni sugar added and lower salt option too!

Great place to shop for fresh food items at reasonably or low prices. Helpful staff, clean space, good merchandising on shelves. The items are packed neatly and easily accessible and quite visible. I like shopping at Food Basics, I recommend this grocery store

Standard mid-range grocery store. Not as much selection as Sobeys or Loblaws, the produce is a but rougher looking, but the prices are lower.

Clean spacious store with friendly staff. Large variety to select from this is my home grocery store now. Plus lots of parking.

Clean, organized. Carts are awesome if you're shopping with Kids. They have a two seater tractor that my kids loved that has a basket at the back with cup holders! And they have little mini carts for kids to push themselves. Will definatly go back when shopping with the kids.

Cleaaaaaaaaan. Nice and bright. Prices are good with a good amount of deals if you know how to shop. Staff is nice and there wasn't a lot of people because this is newly opened. So I plan to enjoy this before it gets more popular among locals.

The store is brand new and they are proud and have an excellent selection of produce and everything else. The staff are friendly not bored. My new grocery store is the new Food Basics.

It is a retail store at Pickering catering to the daily needs of the customers in the Pickering area. It forms a member of the Metro group which has a good network of facilities. They deal in groceries and several other materials which are useful in daily life.

This is a brand new store that just opened right beside homdepot. Immaculate and clean. Also it is not busy as most people don't know it is open.

Cashiers always seem to have no care in the world and customers service could be worked on but clean and open store!
