Selection chips are the best.less calories for more.these days.it's always more.so with chips.being less.why not

I bought a Cedar caramel cake on May 28,2022. When I recieved home, I saw its expire date is May 18. Means it was in store shelf 10 days after expiry date. When I asked store's manager why is an expired item in your shelves, he said " it is not our fault! You should check it before purchasing"!
And said "I do not like to continue the argument with you"!

Find distilled water has been hard enough to find these days but in the same area as the condiments is weird

My favourite food basics. It's clean, well-organized and very reasonably priced with a terrific selection. Top notch.

This food basics is way better than others in the area, they are small but friendly, they also have more cashiers than other locations nearby

I just visited the store. All vegetables and fruits had gone bad. Tomatoes were turning black. Very disorganized. Big disappointment. Left the store. I had never had such experience in any other stores.

Nice local food basic. You could find your essential groceries here. Here does not provide wide range of products due to size of store.

Since new management took over this store was nice,
Now only garbage people working, most of the time half of the isles are empty, they open later than they are supposed
They justo close 15 minutes before closing and they are saying they have right to do it if it’s busy.

They even stopped selling many things they used to
Manager is some uneducated, non intelligent, unpleasant, non cooperative creature, l hope they kick him out.
He is ruining Food Basic chain reputation,

Okay store but racist staff in office. The woman in front office, called Amber, has been watching me and I am not sure what I did to provoke that. Because I take a long time to shop or cause I am very fussy? It's a terrible feeling being watched when you know it's not warranted.

It was a great experience. Kudos to Ayesha at checkout. When asked for help packing she said I WILL PACK FOR YOU. Amazing young lady.

Had to wait too long outside in the cold, people were exiting but not entering as the door man was not standing by the door.

The prices & staff are great but no ability to be 6 ft apart. Everything is too close & that worries me.

Good prices.but they post specials and the same day it starts the products are "sold out"

Best of the low price grocery chains.
Too bad they closed the Yonge St. North of finch location for another condo. For the items I want it's a notch above no frills.

Store employees don't honor sales from their own fliers. This location doesn't do price matching.

Has a small meat section, if you are looking for meat go elsewhere as selection is weak. Otherwise it's clean, staff is friendly and prices are good. Got Halloween candy at 50% off on November 1st. Kind of hidden from yonge street but yes it's there.

Such a great little grocery store. Has everything I need. The staff and managment are always friendly and helpful and the store is always clean.

This is a smaller store. Selection is not as good as other Food Basics. However, parking is fantastic!

This Food Basics location is more basic than food. Small store with a pathetic produce section. Always a second rate selection of fruits and veggies even when in season. Seems to be catering to the captive audience in the seniors building nearby, they have to shop there because there is no other store close enough to walk to. If you're in the neighbourhood fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this store.

Great place to get staples here. Good prices and lots of parking. Cashiers do their job and aren't very friendly. This store will be gone by the end of 2020 and the lot will be turnef into condminium vimplex with stores underneath.

An older location, not the biggest or cleanest but Food Basics is first and foremost for lower prices like No Frills is in this market. For a wider selection the Food Basics location at Major Mackenzie and Bayview is a better option.

This store is untidy, doesn't have all the options that other stores carry and some of the clerks do have an attitude of "why are you buying stuff and making me work harder".
Overall, if you want fresher items look for the other foods basics like the one at John and Bayview Avenue.

You know.sometimes people have a bad word to say about food basics but I say "get your nose out of the air and learn how to shop". If you know how to pick what you need and what is on sale and why, then this is an excellent place to shop. I've gotten many great food items there for cheap simply because I don't judge a discounted steak right off the bat. I examine it, I spend time with it, ask it questions, try to get a sense of how it's being treated and whether I should bring it home to grill or call the proper authorities.
Also cheap avocados

Prices are good, this store is a bit smaller than the other food basics, so they have less of a selection, but still pretty good.

It's a decent grocery store. Whenever I come here, it's never full so cashing out is really fast.

Got was I needed. But everytime I've been there, I've seen that same Stock Boy who looks like friggin SHAGGY from Scooby-Doo, tall, thin, hair never brushed and scraggly beard.
Not approachable, never smiles.

Didn’t have what I wanted but they went out of their way to get me a rain check took a while but they were able to issue it

It is an alright place to get your shopping done. Usual for food basic products in stock, very well maintained and operated
