Best prices around this neighborhood- store terribly run - blame head office or management? - help is hard to find; cashiers are usually friendly & efficient - staying off their phones would also help - usually decent stock - produce pretty decent

Good products but not that good service I got. The employees are not that helpful and, most of the times grumpy whole answering your queries. The billing, too, had an issue with one of my purchase where they charged 10 dollars more to me. Didn't like the way they behaved and handled the situation. Super 8 is a good campaign to avail. Store doesn't hold the product shkwn in weekly flyers.

They have affordable groceries but selection, cleanliness and convenient hours are lacking

This store serves an important role in a low income area but it has to be one of the worst run stores in the entre Food Basics network. I’ve seen large rats running through the produce section, the meat in the fridge case has visible mould despite not being expired (indicating major issues with refrigeration) and the lines to pay are insanely long. Management really needs to invest some $$ into this store.

Some in store coupons on quick sale items really saved me money.
Basic food items, for low prices that are worth the trip.

Not my usual place for groceries, but it has other things available. Decent produce section, and interesting things in frozen foods.

As usual nice clean they got frirndly staff and good promotions just recently the kart has became for rent i guess which is not very convienent

Quiet, not a lot of customers a half an hour before closing. Thursday is the start of a new sale and many items that were supposed to be available are not. Have to see if they come in tomorrow.

Great place to shop they've done a lot of renovation but we don't know when they're going to shut down unfortunately they're building another stupid condo

As the name suggests, it's basic.
You could find a little from everything and I can appreciate that: food wise, cleaning and so on. My problem is that I didn't like the long lines inside with just 2 cash register open, also the cleaning, I didn't feel this store was properly clean.
I appreciate the fact that they clean the basket in which you put groceries.

Rundown store, prices on produce often higher than the local store next door. I usually only come here for aggressively marked down "eat tonight" type deals.

They simply don't have enough cashiers/employees.had to stop going back to this location.there's just too many other alternatives who care about their customers.

LOVE this place! Been shopping here for like 6 years? Probably the best deals for the best quality products. 2$ for CASHEWS? ! And my favorite as well as my guilty pleasure.liberte 9% yogurt just 3$? ! Not to mention some of the things they have I can't find anywhere else like Wilk brand perogies? I'm Polish and I can't find these anywhere aside from obviously polish markets and they have them for just 3$ a pack! The only thing they're missing is those shortbread sticks or any kind of shortbread really but I'll forgive that ;) way better than that sad empty excuse for a grocery store called no frills and way way cheaper than the ridiculous prices at metro and loblaws sometimes charge for certain things. Not bad mouthing the last two places i mentioned. They have okay sales sometimes but food basics is simply better. No frills I hate. They don't have any yogurt almost:/ my point is, go here! You don't be sorry. Thanks!

I like this store. Its cheap and the produce is good. The employees are helpful too. The chips are cheaper than anywhere else.

Yesterday eveneng l went food basics this store. A women without a mask and woman snesszd inside the store.
I will never go there it was horrible!

Cramped store, not many people follow Covid arrows and go up an down isle. Prices are great but not much selection and can sell out of a special quickly.
Staff are average some exceptional and few that are grouchy.

One of the sketches places in town. Seen some borderline spoiled food being sold there. Non perishables are great prices though

While Food Basics has some of the most competitive prices in terms of grocery stores downtown, this particular location is in need of updating and the area can be a little rough around the edges at night. The staff are quite friendly though!

Very good produce department. Floor staff friendly and helpful. Store manager is a nice guy BUT cashiers are rude and indifferent they all need customer service training.
Pricing is good, so you do save money shopping at Food Basics

This is a pretty good food basics. I usually visit the one at Yonge and Cummer but it's been closed down as well as the entire Plaza for redevelopment. So I visited the one on York Mills I found it to be an excellent store. It's clean and as always great deals which is a signature for Food Basics I'd recommend it highly

It's minutes from home and the prices are fair to good. Staff are available and some are friendly.
I do not hold this against them as it's an old building but aisle's are narrow. In a wheelchair it can get tight in places.
All in all it gets a pass.

Dirty on the outside and not the cleanest on the inside. Tons of produce is old and they don't think to remove them from their shelves. It's obvious the owner just doesn't care. I go in and grab what I need and leave as quick as possible.

Store has wide collecton of grocery for people of different contries. A lot of sales going on fir different communities.
Please keep store CLEAN

It seems at the end of the month it's impossible to get a pie or cake cuz everything was sold out

Good offers all the time, fresh and even regional foods are available. Vegetables, fruits, on sale will save a lot. I like the deals on eggs, onion, potatoes, fruits, cereals, and you get indo mie instant noodles not seem anywhere else. Free Parking is available

The outside of this store is absolutely atrocious during the summer months with a lot of homeless people sitting outside of it so you don't feel safe entering. The tend to run out of a lot of flyer specials many times! The store just feels dirty and not clean and not organized well. It is hard maneuvering in and out of the various aisles! During the busy times, they only have 2 cashiers working resulting in super long lines which extend into the aisles. Hopefully this store closes down and they can open a bigger version of Food Basics in this same neighbourhood as it is used by a lot of people.

This Food Basics is a great representation of the demographics in the neighborhood. Sales are decent and pretty consistent. Produce is decent, as well as the meat. No deli. She's a basic grocer and she gets the job done.

The owner of the store should learn to care about the customers who frequent his store. I try never to darken this establishment

Good prices especially for meat and fruits. The selections are not as broad as Loblaw's for example but definitely less pricey.

I walked through a dirty store just to wait in line for twenty minutes while a new cashier tried to figure out what produce was. There were 40 people waiting in two lines.

Best place to buy non perishable goods. Meat and veggies/fruits.run!
Cashiers are nice and efficient (ish). But dont expect a smile.

Very small one, but u find most things that u need daily.as the store is small the sections of bread, meat, vegtables are also small.they do have parking on east side.over all the store is busy.thankq

This location NEEDS improvement! When I asked an employee why there wasn't any Ensure (a protein drink) for my elderly aunt who lives in a neighbouring apartment, he said I should go to a local pharmacy instead!

Again, I asked why not, due the aging demographic of the area! Again, his blunt answer said they didn't care about serving ALL the needs of their immediate customers who shopped there.

Also, on the exterior of the where the shopping carts are held, it is absolutely DEPLORABLE! They should hire someone to maintain the front of the store, especially when there dead leaves entwined in cart and it's a turnoff for me to shop here!
