One of the few grocery stores left with reasonable prices (Nofrills across the street has low prices as well).
Questionable characters around the entrance and the area overall but it comes with the territory.
I like that this location has lots of variety and a huge bonus is that there’s a pharmacy inside. Very convenient!
No price match option.

Hands down the worst place to get produce. I bought bananas two weeks ago that still have not gone ripe. Same goes for avocados.

Saving money means sacrificing aesthetic environments but does it have to be? Affordable prices here decent variety but sketch plaza and surely some " basic" (pun intended) renos could be done

Terrible produce quality! The cilantro was muddy and dried on the inside and had to throw out the oranges the very next day: will never visit this store again.

Bought a box of Spring Mix lettuce ($5.88) yesterday afternoon and made myself a salad. Halfway through I got a musty whiff and taste and realized something was wrong with the product. My instinct was right because I had extreme pain in my stomach so much so that I was bent over. It had another 9 day's left before expiry. I don't normally shop at food basics because, like their parent company Metro, they're expensive and now I see that their products aren't the freshest either.

Very dirty and disorganised. Most of the time no carts at the enterance. The vart are always full of trush on the floor. The staff does not whipe the dirty conveyor belt. We still have COVID! Food on the floor. Emplyee to restock bread placed some bread on dirty floor. Just discusfing.

This food basics doesnt honour the posted price, "the price scanned is the price" store clerk, dispite the entire shelf being 2 for $5.

I bought a case of eska bottled water natural spring water from Quebec. Taste great especially when chilled cold in the fridge. Great brand better than the aquafina, Nestle, no name, etc. Definitely worth buying when it's on sale. I highly recommend eska bottled water.

What a pleasure it is to shop here, store is always very clean and well maintained. Products on sale are well displayed and I practically walk into them rather than “searching all over”. Staff have always been extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly making me want to come back just for the interaction. Hats off to the management of this location, as their dedication and hard work has made this store a privilege to shop in over the years.

Low-cost food store operated by Metro not many big savings or I found some of the food items very expensive we're not be doing regular shopping here too expensive
