I shop at this location whenever Food Basics has sales on the items I want. You have to come here with a shopping list and know what you want and what to look for. Meats that are on sale, such as pork chops, Prime chicken breasts, or ground beef, have always been fresh when I buy them. Apples at. 88 where very fresh. Oranges at. 88 were fresh, too. 1lb mushrooms for 2.88 is a great deal and very fresh. Corn when in season is good quality. So shop here looking for specific items on sale and you will find their quality very high.

It's a good store with lots of parking, but they do annoying dollar for a trolley nonsense so they lose a star. Otherwise good store

Horrible location! The cashier named Karen is very rude and has bad customer service also has an attitude for reason towards customers!

They never restock on time, if something is sold out 6 days out of the week then you need to purchase more of that or quit selling it if you can't provide it on your shelves consistently. I came here twice around 6 PM, rotisserie chicken not made & Pure Protein bars not on shelves.

My children were walking home today when they passed through the self-checkout area because it was cold. They do this all the time and no one seems to care. This woman approached them and said, "You guys can't be passing here. " She told my younger children that they were robbing things and hiding them in their backpacks. My children told her to check their bags for evidence that they were not robbing, and she became afraid and let them pass. This was a racist act. Food basics: Please let your employees know about this.

Avoid this place, it's the most dirty grocery store I've even been to in my life. You'll want to take a shower after.

This afternoon was pretty good, we were in there about 30=45mins shopping and went right up 2 checkout when we were finished. 0 lines. Good job FB.

Nice place. Clean. Staffs are friendly. Price are reasonable. Not a huge place, but enough choices to get what you want especially you are in a rush or busy.no huge huge line up at cashiers as some other places.

I have always liked it. No particular reason. It is a grocery store!

Never enough checkout lines or self checkouts. Prices are excellent though which makes it very popular.

All your shopping needs. Lots of variety. Fruits vegetables fresh. Prices are very good compared to other grocers. Store recently updated their front end added self serve check out and all check outs updated. Line is moving quickly now. There is also a lot of parking at this location

Great experience. This was my first time shopping here and will surely come back. Prices are better compare to our mainstream places. Also there are more options here.

Every associate is very polite.

The manager is also great too. There was one time there were some guys loitering in the parking lot at night. I asked the cashier for the number for mall security, but when I called I could not get a hold of them. Then the manager escorted me to my vehicle. I'm very grateful to his kindness.

In regards to the merchandise, often times when I am buying produce I feel like I'm getting leftovers if they are from the fridge.

The fresh meats can be packaged better so there is nothing leaking in the fridge.

Unfortunately, the milk and the eggs have a kind of "farmy" smell. I'm sorry I can't explain why, but if you visit you can experience it for yourself. Maybe it's because the milk sometimes spills and it dries and it's just there.

If you're Caribbean, then you'll find some of your staples here. Yams, green bananas, etc.

The bakery items are not always the freshest.

The store layout is good overall.

There is no pharmacy here.

Dirty. They stopped cleaning and disinfecting. Pandemic or not. Grocery stores should be clean. It's FOOD!

This store specifically need to pay attention to expire dates. Its ridiculous how many things are pass there date.

2020: Good. Their reduced for clearance section has a lot of stuff in the evening which usually isnt that bad or stale and is deeply discounted.

Update Oct 2021 - converting 4 stars to 2 stars.this store has turned to worse. Multiple reasons and observations over last couple of visits. Total mismanagement or lack of management!

1. Their flyer and app coupons now have weird rule of first x customers will get this deal. Do I have a way to check before visiting the store and going to checkout counter Staff if the deal is still available? No.

2. Staff has lost the habit to greet you - at the check out counter before scanning your stuff or at the time of handing over the receipt to you. Some of them have the attitude - why are you here. When pointed out, they say they mumbled "thank you". What's the use of mumbling if customer can't hear it? May be a time for retraining.

3. Manager unavailability. I asked counter Staff that I want to see manager. She announced twice, no one came. Then she spoke over phone. No sign of manager. Apparently Customers are no more important for them!

4. Staff doesn't know how to wear masks. They announce every 5 minutes in the store that your mask should cover the nose and chin. But their staff has their nose out. When pointed out, he wore it properly. When I said please wear it properly next time. He had the most commonly found excuse ready - I have a problem, I can't breathe through it. Seriously? I didn't see you having a problem for the 2 minutes you were wearing it over nose in my presence. Lol

5. Their flyer item went out of stock. Nothing new. Asked for rain check. It's a regular item but they couldn't find it in the catalog and hence cudnt issue a rain check!

6. Huge lines for checkout at 7pm on weekdays. Guess how many lanes are staffed out of 8.4? 3? No guess again. Only 2.

This has to be the worst food basics. The line ups at the cash is unbelievable. On a Saturday there is only 4 cashiers available. Every check out should be open on a Saturday to reduce the line ups.

I went o buy orange and apple, they were on sale. Unfortunately the quality was very bad. They shouldn't even display it

It is the dirtiest Food Basics I have ever been to, boxes and other stuff consuming the isles, hardly room to move. The cashiers are rude and Management are clueless. Just a disgrace! I won't be back to that one!

Food basics is a perfect place for thrifty spenders without compromising on quality.
But the staff could be a bit more polite and courteous. They don't treat the customers well. Perhaps they think people who come to such a frugal place doesn't deserve respect.

This supermarket has been changed new owner for a few years ago, and renovated interior. I think that it is better than before, but just a medium size, and a little bit crowded for customers. Basically like the other food basics.

Medium scale Grocery store with good prices, almost all grocery kind that you might need, but it has a limited list of products in the store (the essential groceries are in there but the list is not that rich).

I am a regular customer of food basic grocery store / Central parkway. I have been satisfied with the goods I usually get from this store but Wednesday, April 15/2020 shopping was unbelievably bad, for example the salad mix (Altitude, San Marino) was smelly and completely spoiled and digested, one of the English cucumber that I bought was spoiled, I had to throw them to the garbage. I was wondering how would such company with
good reputation put such bad quality on their shelves? Do they think that people would probably eat everything during Corona pandemic? I tried calling them many times with no reply.

This is our everyday grocery place. Veggies are fresh and most cheap than anywhere else with good quality. Not too crowdy and mid spaced area that doesnt tire you to walk down.

I was looking for some flowers and they have decent varieties of flowers/plants. The parking is pretty huge and that is not a problem.
Fruits and vegetable have organic section and they are at good deals. They don’t price match but are priced less already

This is a terrible place to buy the grocery. The cashier Lady very rude, Never smile, never said something like "How are you" to anyone. Because she is hiding her name card, Being treated very rude. I ask her name card. She just yelling to me "why" and refuse to show her name card.
I am in a hurry and don't want argue to her. But I will never go that store again.

Smaller than the big chain stores, but reasonable selection and prices. Lots of stuff randomly on sale for a good deal. Staff is polite and helpful, they went "in the back" and found something that wasn't out on the shelf. And restocked the shelf too.

This is so far the most disgusting branch! The floor is always dirty and there is no express cashier, i had to wait 15 min to buy a piece of food (just ONE item).

Need to change their cashier staff. Some of them are rude and they throw groceries on the belt and miscalcuate produce items. They need to lower their prices for fruits and vegatables. There is 50% increase in grocery prices since Jan, 2018.

It is the worse one I have ever been to. Low stock, two shopping carts and a check out were full of returns. Only two check outs open at prime time hours of 6 pm. Staff is rude and lazy. I put this all on management whom needs to be fired clearly.

Don't have price match n points rewards like other grocery stores. Hence a deterrent to avoid shopping there. Need baskets with wheels for customers who do not shop to the brim.

I will love to see shorter check out lines by having more counters open when the store is busy.

They don’t anticipate busy times- 630pm and two lanes open, with 20+ people in each line. Unacceptable, seeing as Great Canadian Superstore has an open lane guarantee. Food basics should take a hint.
