Check your bill before you leave the store.charged for 4 packages of chicken breast instead of 3. The cashier was very reluctant to check. I had to repeatedly insist that the bill was double checked. Finally a more senior person agreed I was overcharged and I received a 23$ credit. It was quite interesting that I had to push to have the bill double checked. I was left to feel that I was an inconvenience when i was the one inconvenienced and almost ripped off

It's nice to have a Food Basics close to home, my family and I go there all the time.

Usually very good produce and stock. Always have stock on sale items. Never enough cashiers.

Gross produce and consistently empty shelves. Cashiers are friendly but this is all this place has going for it. Avoid at all costs.

I was desperate for computer paper. Nobody in Port had any. Nicole at this store was nice enough to give me a couple sheets! So nice of her.

I drive 15 mins to ship here. The staff provide small town atmosphere with first class knowledge service and courtesy.

There isn't a lot of choice. Prices are ok.

The store is clean and the prices are good. I don't like the meat, but otherwise, it's good. I was very upset one day when a cashier was down right mean to an elderly lady who was struggling. I should have complained to management, but I wanted to help this lady to her car.

My favourite grocery store near me - is 20 minutes from Sunderland. Good prices for produce, meat, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to search for items to add to My List for in-store shopping

Was in the store yesterday to buy some chicken, one of the staff was knocking down prices so i waited a while unfortunately the chicken i was interested in was not marked down. As i was walking away one of the off duty cashiers approached the lady marking down.prices, had a few words and the chicken i was interested in was marked down. Not only one pack but all of the skinless boneless chicken, four large packages.maybe there is a arrangement for employees, but i, like many other seniors could also use a break in these already expensive times.this is my store of choice but i was not impressed, i do hope this practice will be addressed.this was not a mistaken identity the cashier involved is very well known.this statement is without prejudice

First off, we only went to get a lottery ticket.
I support people who have different abilities, and it’s important to myself and the agency that we allow our people to experience things as anyone else would. However, Jenn on shift at 3: 50pm 01/06/2023 believes otherwise. Did not greet, glared at the gentlemen I was supporting very ignorantly. Shows signs of impatience as the gentleman takes a little longer to speak. Even after I assisted, her tone was still rude. After we paid, we begin to walk away and we hear, “he stunk”.
I expect better from people as it’s 2023 and it’s not news that there’s people in the world who doesn’t fit the definition of societies “normal”.
I expect to be able to go to a grocery store without these kinds of experiences. This is unacceptable and Food Basics, hire competent people. Anti bullying is taught from grade 3 and it blows my mind how we still have narrow minded people.

Great friendly staff.clean.for a small store always a good selection.lots of sales every week and if they dont have it you can get a raincheck

Small store and they dont stock alot of things. Very clean and tidy and staff very helpful.

Super rude and very unpleasant cashiers. Same experience in our all 7-8 visits. Posted price and scanning price are different all the time. If we mention that to the cashier, they will simple say that 'that's the price'. The only reason going back to the place again is not many places around in Port Perry. Inside customer service is really good.

Place was clean and well stocked with super friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was the long line at the cash and its very small.

Smaller location. Sometimes don't have the advertised specials, but staff friendly and helpful.
