I used to like this store but in the last year both my husband and I have been experiencing the worst customer service ever. The cashiers are rude and snarky. The app they now force you to use to get sales does not work most of the time. When I mentioned this the cashier in a snarky tone said “did I make the app? ” No you did not but your head office did. Poor experiences all around. Too bad.

Everything I needed was in stock. The isles were busy being restocked oddly they would pick a busy thanksgiving weekend to do it but glad what I needed was there. Thanks

If you’re looking to get a job here: DON’T! I had been only working there for a month when I was fired randomly because it “wasn’t working out” even though my performance was good and I did nothing wrong. Andre, store manager, fired me which he apparently is known to do. If you do get a job here, be careful of him.

Food Basics is a go-to store for daily used products along with some diverse food selections. Good prices

This is a newer store and has most everything an average grocery shopper would want. Staff was friendly and they have the convenience of a self checkout or a cashier.

Not enough cashiers. Obviously many people do not like self checkout. The dairy section is disgusting! Literally mold and sour milk all over the floor in the fridge. You open the door and the stench is terrible.

This is the best Food BASIC in the region. The store is always very clean and organized. And of course the prices are very competitive.

Shop here every week and my grocery total bill has definitely gone down! Their produce is always fresh and I love their specials!

Same stock as the other food basics around Niagara however why is this particular food basics higher in price on everything? I can go to food basics on Thorold road and see cheaper prices. I would assume it should be standardized know? Perhaps gouging Fonthillions?

Was great when it first opened but now. Not enough cashiers as most were replaced by self checkouts. If I have a full cart then I'm waiting in the one checkout a long time. Will be going to Walmart and even Sobeys from now on to spend my 250 per week and actually get some level of service
