Food Basics

Well priced goods, fresh produce has improved plenty when they have it. Of course seasons and the uncontrollable
ie inflation and economy situation has plenty of unforseen effects on food and supply but they manage well in my view it's the go to store for Woodstock at this point for groceries.

I went to food basics today and I noticed a very different supply of quality of meats, veggies, and other products that are stocked full and available on their shelves, freezers, coolers, etc. Prices are also notably more consumer friendly than W. M. I am definitely shopping anywhere other than W. M.now. Apparently there is a supply chain problem in North America because of reasons beyond the consumers the control that affects the prices and supply of said products. They have signs posted on particular shelves that are empty and void of products that were and are a necessity for us to survive. Thank you Food Basics for your services, very much appreciated.

Self checkout constantly need employee to clear screen, defeats purpose of quick checkout. No empty carts OR baskets for customers to use. Best part is the plants

Great deals, they sell plenty of grace brand products and they sell local produce let alone they're beside Picard's peanuts

Things are pretty much back to normal, the self check is pretty convenient for the small amout of items

Great store to shop in.but staff filling the shelves could use some training.they are not more important than the customers trying to shop and block product you are trying to access and don't seem to care. Cashiers are all excellent and super friendly and polite

I love food basics! I find it's as cheap, if not cheaper, as no frills, but you don't have to "pay for your cart" and their produce is way better.

It's an okay place to shop, but it gets very crowded and people block the isles all the time talking to their friend.

Always enjoy shopping here but today I was blown away by cashier 151. What a friendly, kind soul. Made our day to be greeted by such a warm individual. Also, hats off to Food Basics for collecting donations and matching the funds collected for Ukraine.

Busy store. Generally well stocked. Staff always busy restocking shelves and they rarely leave any mess when they are done.

I like the design of the store and it is well stocked. Prices are higher than I expected but I guess that is the season we are in. The staff seemed very tired and distracted.

Great store. Parking lot can get a little congested. There was alot of workers so if you needed to ask for help or direction there was somebody close. Inventory at the time wasn't well stalked but it could have been because of covid or maybe it was a day before they switched for the next week of sales but overall I really liked this store. Great prices.

Great local grocery store. It's always busy in here. Store is clean and well stocked and staff is friendly.

Poor costumer service.cashier on line 1 wasn't even a helpful for everybody.i need costumer service to send money tru western union, i don't mind waiting but their waiting time is really awful.and one more ther's two elderly paying their goods and the cashier made a mistakes.put them together in one transaction.and offcourse the lady 2 wanted to pay the other lady 1.and she doesn't have a change so lady 2 ask the cahier if she could breakdown her cash to pay the lady 1.but they don't allow to give change.what a day.

Really like Food Basics. Usually my first price match place. However, just had major surgery and will be incapacitated for quite awhile. Called them to see if they offered a store shopper service and they don’t. They also didn’t give any indication that they ever will. That left me a bit disappointed. They did however refer to another store that did. Thank you! Thank you very much!

First time at this Food Basics in Woodstock, nice setup for product in the aisles, great signage too. The only thing was probably because of the Covid Procedures, that I found the check lanes totally congested. Good Staff on hand

Typical Food Basics. Not unlike the locations in London. Always out of popular items, staff usually very unfriendly, sale items not always in stock. I have now found a new discount grocery store with much better results.

Great grocery store overall. Clean and well kept. Good selection with decent prices. Produce seems to be aged, but staff is friendly and helpful.

This store is a constant disappointment. Their meat specials are never available. The excuse is that the meat special is not applicable to the Woodstock Store. Go to the London location, is always the meat department's answer. I will never shop here again.

Over all clean store selection of Salmon fillets was what l was there for.they weren't as big as l was hoping for.

I find more often then not the store smells like stale cigarette smoke and the milk fridges are always filthy! I find myself shopping here less and less.

Layout is horrible, staff block access to products while stocking, didn't give me a receipt, sale items not easy to find.my home location of Food Basics is infinitely superior

Really like how they have one self checkout that takes cash. I don't like the grocery stores making us do the work of self checkout. I like cash, so if I have to use the self checkout & have cash Basics is the store for me.

Still the best prices in town. The staff & covid practices can be seen wherever you go. The staff are very friendly and helpful every day. Great place to shop.

Since the renovations the store looks great, bright, clean and full shelves, best to go earlier in the morning, not as busy.

Always good here except now they have a lineup that goes around to the side of the store (just like no frills) and its frustrating as they can use the staff person productively by putting them on a till

I really like shopping in this store. I can usually find what I'm looking for and at a great price. Staff is always friendly and nice.

Nice grocery store here in town. Fairly clean, easy access to boxes to pack your groceries up when you leave. Good variety of foods, local and international. Good deals from time to time. The aisles are a little narrow and you can end up "training" (being stuck behind several other people/carts) even with moderate foot traffic; there's not much room to get around. This store has done some renos recently that have improved the store. My favorite part is the self checkouts. They are very nice!

I will no longer shop at the store, I witnessed two employees calling a trans man wearing a dress derogatory names beginning with F. I asked to speak to the manager, the nighttime manager told me, “ what do you expect me to do he shouldn’t be wearing a dress, so he deserves it”, I told him I was in shock at his comment, he then told me there was nothing he could do, that boys will be boys calling people names.
When I left I approached the customer who was called names in the parking lot, the customer told me
the employees in the store have been doing this for a few years, and unfortunately she cannot afford to go anywhere else. UNBELIEVABLE! SHAME

Like the store staff not friendly I took a package of cheese from shelf and several othet packages were sitting on top of others and they fell I picked them up and put them on lower case and a young man asked if he could help me indicating that I made a mess and left it where it didn't belong he soon changed his mind when I called him on it and explained that they were not stable where someone placed them and they would fall as soon as any item on that shelf was handled he soon chaged his approach and at that point he made a wise decision

Why is it Friday afternoon around 2
PM and a lot of the shelves are empty frozen section special all out. I realize it is sometimes difficult but in this day and age hire more stock people. Very difficult for seniors.

Cheaper than anywhere else in town. Relatively cleanish. Mostly just the closest place to home.

Saturday night the store hours said open until 8: 00. I and a few other customers went to go shopping but the doors were already locked at 7: 50. They also changed their hours and they are terrible. Don't support this store.

Today in a 10 minute span I saw 4 people without masks on. The manage are such cowards not to set a clear policy and instead expect staff and customers to police. Just emboldens these people and makes us not want to shop here any more.

Great grocery store & decent prices. Nice clean store with a good selection of standard & specialty items. Has no deli counter, in store bakery, or meat/fish counter. A very good selection of fresh fruit & Veggies however. Good service, but be prepared to wait a bit in line when the store is busy.

Store is looking another better since reno. I find its cleaner and well put together. Kudos to the owner and staff for a job well done

No Social distancing at checkout. Cashier didn't sanitiz after each customer. NSD at packing area.

Hadn't been for a while but I was extremely impressed. The store was clean, staff was helpful and smiling and best of all.the store had every item I needed. No empty shelves. Bravo! I think they have a new manager and it shows on the staffs faces.

Employee doesnt know how to wear mask properly, and tolerates customers not wearing masks at all

Good store. I really like the new self check out. Can be a lil crowded and doesn't have all the items I always want. Other then that all good!

Love this store it has everything one needs and international foods also. Excellent prices and lots of parking. Staff is friendly but some of them need to smile a bit more.

I am a newer shopper here as I normally frequent your competitor Walmart. I will say this, after the way your staff have been and how fast and easy it has always been to come and go during this time I will be a new permanent customer. Your staff is so up beat and very polite. I look forward to coming in again and again, not like when I dred going into Walmart. I just wanted you to know you guys have done an excellent job during all of this and I hope you all stay safe. Thank you.

Called near close on friday night and confirmed opening hours because of all the changes wanted to make sure. Girl told me 7am go today and they have a sign for 8am. 15 other people there for 7am. Terrible customer service clearly the girl last night should of known not like they would of changed it after close on Friday.

I have done one shopping trip here since the pandemic began, and will say their staff are polite, helpful and friendly. They have decent products for the most part (produce can be hit and miss in terms of freshness - e.g. Avocados), but that's what freezers are for! There was adequate supply of everything except for mass shortage items such as hand sanitizer and I didn't have any strange experiences with yahoo shoppers that should be ordering from home (e.g. I was at Sobeys lined up a few metres away from an older patron who asked me to create further distance - I wasn't sure what to blame, her anxiety or my non-white skin).

No panicky insanity! Paper towels! Toilet paper! Incredible experience there. I just might be a lifer from here on in!

Clean and well organized store, easy to find what you are looking for. Helpfull staff. Food basics is generally the cheapest store for most items.

It is a reasonably nice place, kept well from what I have seen. Decent prices and so far although other's stories may differ I've never had a hard time from the employees, none have been rude or gave a nasty attitude =) I return often
