Nice value grocery store that has some pretty good deals and great variety overall. Fairly clean and organized to get your shopping done quickly and not break the bank.

The young man at the self checkout is an unprofessional child. An elderly lady before me wanted his help and both him and his coworker barely helped her. I asked him to cancel my transaction, told him he needed to clear my transaction (so the next person can use my station), and he bickered, “NEED TO? ! ”, mocking my urgency. I think he NEEDS TO act right.

The man of Jamaican descent that works there (he seems to be one of the managers or someone higher up in the store) is super friendly and always greets us when we go.

He deserves praise and a raise!:)

update: they have finally renovated and now have self checkouts!

One of the bigger Food Basics. Well located and good availability.
Should have self checkouts too.

Could be a perfect grocery store, excellent selection and availability, but I have genuinely never been in the store when there isn't an obnoxious amount of product strewn throughout the aisles. Palettes of water in the middle of the freezer aisle, random wrapped palettes in front of the orange juice outside the entrance to the back, random stocking trollies abandoned throughout the store by staff blocking off entire sections of shelves. My absolute least favourite place if I need a full cart of groceries. Edit: went again and saw more expired food on the shelves than I've ever seen in any grocery store.

Good location, sometimes the fresh fruits are rotten from inside, otherwise it’s good store for all food items.

They usually have the shelves well stocked. Ive gotten to know some of the staff over these past 5 years. They are very helpful when looking for something.

I love the store. I love the parking lot more. I enjoyed watching hundreds of pigeons hanging out and just chilling there.

Pricey for a large portion of the products are not clearly posted. I asked a staff member where I could find a certain item, they looked me up and down and said 'read the signs in the isle that's your answer' this person had to be at least in their late 50's. I don't care how bad of a day you're having, let me know or better yet drop what you're doing and take the customer to the product. Store wasn't too busy and their were lines for each open lane rather than the one mega line that we have adapted for during these COVID-19 times.

Good hours of operation, not too busy when you go later in the evening with lots of parking. Cashier's process orders quickly and are friendly.

It's a good store for getting your groceries.
However I would not recommend purchasing vegetables or fruits from here as they didn't seem to very fresh. They don't last long in your refrigerator as compared to other stores like no frills or Walmart.
It's good for any packed food item and other groceries.

I'm visiting another Food Basics store today and this one is in Scarborough.

This store's interior has a brighter lighting system that I like because it just makes the place more enjoyable to shop in!

There's a Pharmacy here and pharmacist on duty which I haven't noticed at the other Food Basic locations I've shopped at. This is good to know.

Lots of specials so look for the red/white "Locked Down" price tags.

I scoured the whole store but this was a quick shopping trip as I needed a 12-pack of Coke $4.88, Club House Chili Seasoning Mix, a can of red kidney beans, two cans of sliced mushrooms, and a can of water chestnuts.

It was a fierce battle but I successfully fought off an urge to buy a box of 3 Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Almond ice cream bars! The dessert vibes were powerful.

Checkout was quick and store staff were friendly.

Parking was plentiful.

This has always been a good bargain grocery store. But my trip today reaffirms that the people that shop at this store are not aware of Covid19.
Too many people in the store, cashiers in a rush to put your items on the conveyer belt, and customers that don't respect the 2 meter rule. On this trip alone I had to speak to 3 different people about standing back from us. Never have this problem at Metro or the Loblaws Super Store.

Some of the staffs are rude and not helpful.
I saw this lady employee in the Produce Dept.taking out bananas from the boxes and just threw all the bananas onto the rack. I wanted to say something to her that she’s not handling them properly, but I didn’t want to create any commotions. I did buy some of the bananas home and they were all bruised the next day.

My husband and I are seniors and make a point of only shopping during seniors' hours. This morning we arrived at 7: 00am and by 7: 30am the store was swarming with young people. I asked to speak to the store manager who had a very bad attitude. He was rude ". So what's your point. " and '. "I'm not the police so there is nothing I can do. " when I complained. A couple of staff members were walking around with no masks. Two of the cash registers that were open were side by side so customers were fairly close to one another when packing their groceries. We regularly shop at this store but will look elsewhere now. Not impressed! BTW - Our cashier was very nice.thank you.

September 24,2020 - Tried this store again just because it's close to home. NEVER again. We arrived at 7: 00am on Friday for seniors' hour but this service is now cancelled. Went back at 8: 00am to find long line-up. Store was very busy and everyone was all over the place. At the checkout, the cashier did not wait for us to finish packing our bags - she kept checking other customers through who had no choice but to brush by us. This store is irresponsible with COVID protocols! Shame on you!

I am glad that they now have slightly better measures put in place. They make announcements often and have markers on the floor. Thank you Food Basics! Pretty good selection of food, friendly employees.

Best place to shop as the price is very competitive and reasonable. Compared to Metro, Loblaws and Freshco

Was my first time at this location. The store is vast and has a great selection of food items also the prices were amazing. I was not farmiliar with this location so I had too walk around several times too find my purchases.recommend this store

All grocery shopping can be done here. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. They have good amount of parking spaces. I sometimes found them short of breads. The racks sometimes turn out to be empty.

They had all the food I needed at their regular low prices. Store was busy but cashiers were quick. The store was clean and produce was decent. Overall I would visit again if I was looking for low prices.they also offer price matching. Just bring your flip app with you and search other stores flyers. You will receive the flyer prices on the. Please don't do this on the spot. Plan it out ahead. So you know which items are price matched. Please do this bc other people have other places to be. Be efficient with the process

Great place for fresh fruits and veggies. Good aisles and great variety of items to choose from. They have nice parking place - and effective place to park shopping carts.

The cashier was responsible. Although was Christmas time and busy day, store was tidy and organized.

Local and easily accessible of the highway with plenty of parking, great staff and are very helpful.

Got home and found a cockroach in the bag provided by food basics. Disgusting! Will never ever shop at that location again!

A place to buy groceries and do every day shoppings at a reasonable price. This place also has a pharmacy and its dispencing charge is $9.9 for prescribed medications.

Best place for fresh fruits and vegetables. They also have a decent number of cleaning products as well. The attached pharmacy is a useful spot for multivitamins etc.

Produce is not very great. Service from cashiers is ok. And they have tried to confuse and deter you so you don’t buy a box of Lara bars for $14.99 for their sale which is in the flyer! The flavours are all mixed together so you are more inclined to buy them individually. I had to prepare a box of 16 on two occasions after digging through the mixed boxes. Then the cashier tries to say “you can’t buy these by the box” and I had to say “well it’s in your flyer”

A great place for elderly ladies to be stolen from. They will not talk with you, they will not say or do anything to change that.

I usually would go here and shop vegetables. Their veggies arent fresh and once I bought chicken which was indeed smelly and rotten. I would prefer only to buy canned food items.

Rude cashiers. Causing problems with the customers in front of me. She wouldn't allow the customer to charge her mangos on a separate bill when there 2 people. Plus the store is dirty. I personally won't shop here again.

Here is a one of the best grocery store which has a lot if high quality food with a reasonable price

Check for the right products some are overdue, if you are planning to buy flowers or plants don't waste time this store have this items by the door and all plants are frozen

Lives up to its name. Sells food and it is very basic.

Longer lines on Saturday than there should be.

Only just started going here after living in the area a long time. I am disabled and use a walker so can't walk around bigger stores. If you can get a pkg spot close the door is right there. I can only get a few items as I can only use a basket to put on my walker's seat. No baskets mid morning Sat so had to ask. Staff has been friendly and helpful directing me to items since I do not know the layout yet.
Some shelves can get messy at times.
Produce well priced and pretty good quality so far.
Fair selection of baked goods but no in store bakery or deli.
I have been to cashier Marilyn a few times and she smiles and packs my bags for me which is so helpful.
Line ups not too bad.
I have yet to use their coin machine but will soon as I always seem to have tons of loose change.

Fruit and veggie selection and pricing is garbage. Apples taste bad and are overpriced. Cheap pizza.has garlic dipping sauce which I like and frozen stuff is better priced then fresh. Lower quantity better quality of fruits and veggies.

This particular branch is a better organized of the various FOOD BASICS.
Proves to me that depending on the diversity of the area the branch is located, the standard is set

Cashiers are all good.it would be nice if it had a public washroom.great selection of produce and food items. Employees are very helpful. I easily find what I want here. Good customer service. Good fresh veggies and fruit including organic. Friendly helpful staff. I was able to find most things I wanted. Great options from around the world. The restaurant is good.

First part was ok, but had to go to a different cashier for lottery tickets and that was very frustrating. It took me more than five minutes to get three tickets. I cashier had no idea what she was doing. I absolutely hate having to wait a very long time for anything that I have to pay for.

I've been to this location a couple of times and it seems to be busy. I've only gone there to grab a couple quick items, so the 1-8 items lines saves me from the longer line ups.
