Foodland - Ayr

The staff are great but I can’t justify paying the inflated prices compared to other grocery stores. How can you charge $7 for a $2 case of nestle water after a covid pandemic where families are hurt and struggling? This company should feel disgusted with themselves

Love that they support local farms (truly local, not just Ontario-wide). They carry a good selection and produce is always fresh.

Foodland, Ayr demonstrates consistently friendly service in a well maintained and well stocked store.

Great service. Friendly staff. One stop shop. Locals call it booze land. Get your food and beverage. The prices for groceries are a little much. I go for the deals and Friday the 3 to 8 dollar off meat.

They were wonderful! They were so helpful when my friends vehicle died in front of the store. They were just closing as we left and the one lady who works there offered us a ride to my friends to get the other car to bring down to boost. Thankfully the wonder and helpful guys from Badger Daylighting pulled right in front and hooked us up to the jumper cables. Thanks to them the car was running again. Without these wonderful people who bared the cold with us, we woulda been a bit stuck, and it was super cold last night. Thank you again you kind souls!

Some items are over priced. Organic strawberries were $12.99, didn't expect to pay that much. At other grocery stores the top price was $9.99 for the same thing
Over all I do enjoy shopping there.

This Foodland location is excellent.its very clean and well stocked with tons of parking and access from couple different streets. We stopped in to get some coffee and snacks as the line up at Tims was too long. Very nice store. It also has an LCBO which is very convenient. The staff was very friendly and helped us find other things we ended up getting. I did get a kick out of the sign in the public washroom though.:)

This is the cutest Foodland! It’s decorated very rustic and country to suit right we’re it is. They sell lots of Christmas decor and gifts. The store is larger than it looks and you will find everything your looking for plus more! It has a casual comfortable feel and the staff were all so helpful and friendly it was like visiting a friend! I recommend this Foodland location you will not regret the drive to this wholesome little town! It made grocery shopping feel like a mini day trip!

This store has it all! The store is so clean, and the staff so friendly, that my wife and I traveled from the US just to shop here. It's just that good.

Like most of Sobey's-owned stores, service is declining in a big way.

1. Terribly expensive compared to competition. Prices completely out of line with what's reasonable. Example: your cream is $6.29 for 1L, but your competitors sell for $3.29. Not sure how you can justify this!

2. Poor selection of produce, primarily, and other items as well. Produce in this store is poor-quality and there isn't much of it. No bananas on the shelves at all, wrinkly red and yellow peppers. For twice the price, I'd expect quality produce and a large selection of it. As another example, the baby food selection is laughable. Hope your baby only likes expensive organic food!

3. For the inflated prices, service is poor. Empty unstocked shelves. You must wash your own cart (they have a cart cleaning station?). Poor quality paper bags not fit to carry groceries.

Definitely will not be back - there are better options at a lower price. I understand your head office dictates your prices, but your head office is out to lunch. A very expensive lunch, with stale produce.

Well organized, live the reduced produce table, wish they would bring back the bakery reduced cart. Prices are higher than other stores, being a senior I only go when prices are on sale or like a week ago when I have ran out of everything, over all a great store

Great staff lots of variety and ready made foods that are pretty damn good for takeout from a grocery store

"Conveniently" higher prices and lower quality / value produce

Today I was finally motivated to express my frustration.

2 examples of inferior overpriced produce and in my opinion a shameless business practice.

7 dollar a lb orange peppers that I would expect to see on the "last week" shelf.

3.5 dollar per lb tomatoes placed downward to hide some form of visual blemish. Why hide it? Brutal.

I frequently grab lettuce for 4 bucks (in a pinch) and it its brown underneath, sometimes on top. Lasts 2 days in my fridge.

It's cool you want to sell questionable produce and profit from grocery scarcity in Ayr. Jokes on you. Sobeys Paris is 2 mins longer and doesn't pull this garbage.

This store is surprisingly well stocked for a modest sized store. Staff are friendly and accommodating

Local Foodland in the village of AYR. Friendly courteous staff. Bright and very clean, offers senior hours. Covid measures well in place. Fresh Sushi corner, hot food section and bakery. Also includes the LCBO agency and the Beer store

Prices are taking advantage of being the only grocery store in a small town. Under appreciated staff - you get no discount if you work there, like NO insensitives whatsoever, shows in the employees unpersonable attitudes.
However, I did have a rare occurrence where a younger guy found out which pepper was which. And Mya (spelling, SORRY!) is or was not sure if she's still there but there most helpful staff member.

Went to Liquor store there. Girl was Great. Never an issue. Great selection and always stocked up.

I just love our local Foodland store. Friendly staff and even friendlier owners. Oh. Did I mention that this Foodland has an LCBO too?

It is a beautiful store but find over priced for family shop. Dissatisfied with garden center this year.

Nice store, clean and bright. Not huge but has everything you need plus beer and a liquor store!

Good organic meat, fruit vegetables a/o. Very clean store and floor plan. Employees are knowledgeable, fast and friendly.

Pretty big and quiet store. Big gluten free section where you can find all the vegan things including vegan bacon and other imitation meats.

Great small town grocery store, all the staff are very nice and helpful, great selection and good prices! They also have a good beer/wine selection at the back. One-stop shopping without the chaos of a big-box store!
