Foodland - Lucan

Can't wait for bigger store so have more merchandise
Staff is friendly and helpful but limited to size of store

Absolutely fantastic store. Everything you need, groceries, pre-cooked meals, fresh desserts, awesome homemade hot soups, and so much more. If you're ever in Lucan, stop by, you won't be disappointed.

Price gouge central, poor selection, low grade produce. Cheaper to do your shopping at a convenience store or gas station.

Small grocery store - Foodland is in most small towns and its defiantly one of the more expensive grocery stores. But its convenient, has great sales when they do and it has a good variety of the items you could want or need especially if you live in the town of Lucan or surrounding area.

Wonderful helpful staff and they always have just what I need great place to shop building a new bigger store just that much more selection for all your needs

The owners of this Foodland in my small town of Lucan has disappointment my family greatly. My daughter was extremely excited to be working for Foodland as it was walking distance and one of the few places her age could work and still go to school full time. Unfortunately she was the first employee to get Covid. The owner Dave clearly had no plan and paniced. She followed the correct guidelines that the government had implemented regarding isolating and testing. The owner Dave informed her that an in-person meeting needed to be done before working again. He waited 4 weeks to meet with her to only fire her on the spot the minute she went into his office. We both tried several weeks to set up "this" meeting as well. No notice of termination. During those 4 weeks they hired a new employee, and took her off the schedule which interned started rumours that she was getting fired. The owner Dave stated she broke Covid protocols but didn't give her the reason of what "protocol" it was. He never even gave her the opportunity to explain her side of the story. This was also the case that every rapid test was negative up until the PCR result. She never stepped into that location when she knew she was positive.

The fact that Foodland is so highly supported and respected can take advantage of my daughter is a disgrace. It saddens me that this is going on in my community and they think they can get away with it. They shouldn't be allowed to treat our youth this way. I had a family member who works in HR and knows all of the ins and outs. She spoke to the owner Dave on my daughter's behalf and he was very defensive and still didn't give us any indication of what protocol was broken. The labour board has been contacted and this is by far wrongful dismissal on their part by many levels.

One of my favourite small town stores. Always such a great selection. Staff is always nice and helpful.
