Foodland - Haliburton

Ordered Nature's fruit tray again this year. Absolutely amazing. It was a super hit. Very fresh and wonderful assortment.
Beautifully presented also.

Beware of the always miserable old lady on the 1-10 items checkout. She has never once been friendly, I honestly don’t know how she still has a job there. Clearly these reviews don’t mean much. I needed some scratch tickets for stocking stuffers and went in before work. I asked her when the scratch tickets will be out because there was none on display and she said with lots of attitude as usual “I haven’t even had time to count them. Give me a minute you’re gonna have to wait a while” how unprofessional. This should be done way before you’re even open. You have been open for over 30 minutes why are you not prepared.

Cashier was very friendly. Store seemed well stocked. Washroom wasn't the best but glad they had one.

A beautifully organized, clean and well stocked store. Lots of plant based options. Friendly staff and fresh food.

I was walking around Foodland In haliburton when i found trash around the establishment, I informed an employee and he snakily said to me “I ain’t want this apple sauce. ”. I do not want to be spoken to like this, have some respect for the people giving you money. Luckily, this nice young boy (an employee) stood up for me against this grumpy employee. Not a pleasant experience.

I was in the area visiting in Gooderham and stopped in for some groceries (25min drive). While using self-checkout a staff member (pictured) miraculously swooped in without even saying a word and obnoxiously stood directly over us while side eyeing frequently for our entire purchase.

The other 2 customers using the 2nd self-checkout over from us who were there BEFORE us for some reason weren't worthy of someone standing right over them being watched like a hawk!

Couldn't help but feel targeted because it seems this store thinks only Black people are capable of stealing!

**Now I am not one to use the race card but I will when warranted. The next day I had to return to town for additional items but I drove 5min past Foodland to the other side of town and visited Todd's Independent Grover (a PC brand) and it was a COMPLETELY different experience. The staff there came right out and were extremely helpful, welcoming, and didn't make it seem like a bunch of criminals walked in the store**

We shop here all the time. Staff is available and polite. Could be cheaper, but this is no Walmart. Veggies and fruits are fresh and local whenever possible.
