Foodland - Whitby

I was very impressed with the organization and cleanliness. Great meat counter selections. This Foodland has really upped their game.

Great for a quick shop. Don't have everything. Love how fast i can get in and out. Has all the essentials.

It is always a good experience. The staff is friendly, they oavk your groceries in a logical fashion. The store is clean and organized in a way that makes sense. The produce is great, they have good specials and the deli meats are appealing and they gave a nice selection. I definitely recommend shopping there

Even though they sell Compliments stuff, I find it way more expensive than Freshco. However the location works really well for me.

Very organized store and very nice Cashier!
But I hope they have a bigger sign as we’re having a hard time to find it although we have gps. Lol

Been going to this grocery store since it opened 40 odd years ago. It’s always been consistent and dependable. Some prices high some surprisingly low. The people that work there are great and always very helpful. They have some cool items/meats you don’t see other places. Open on most holidays. Go check it out.

Small but mighty grocery store. Produce looked fresh & nicely presented. Extraordinary meat & deli section. Awesome bakery. Staff is helpful, knowledgeable, professional &seemingly happy. The grocery prices are quite high.

Foodland is my go to store. The selection is very good along with a great Deli counter and fresh Bakery. The service staff is awesome. The cashiers are fast and friendly people.

This 1 star rating is for the Deli Counter, as this is the 3rd time I've walked away without purchasing my choice of deli meat. The piece they want to slice from and sell is the end of the roll, it's discolored and no good, and when I ask the expiry date, it has been within a week of expiring. I've asked to open a new roll of deli meat and have been told they aren't allowed to as long as the meat isn't expired. No thanks!

Ordered a birthday cake on Friday for Sunday and was very disappointed. Wanted blue trim with green writing and told them it was for a guy, they put baby blue with light green, it looked like a baby cake. The inside was awful extremely dry and hard, how old was this cake definitely not fresh. Will never get a cake from them again it was disappointing and a waste of money nobody wanted to eat it how dry it was.

2 stars because the cashiers were so nice. Bought a none food item product here and wanted to return it (a cople bottles of downy unstopables). I was told, as per the owner, they don't do any type of return due to covid. A tiny note was at the bottom of the counter by my waist which I didnt see until after I tried to return something, it was pointed out. I get policies and procedures during a time such as this but seeing as places are opening up and rules are becoming less strict, I think the owner of Foodland in Whitby needs to reconsider and update return policy of some of the items such as items in plastic that can be disinfected and returned to the shelf.

We drive out from Scarborough just to come back. They have everything we need plus we are always finding new things. Best cuts if meat and wonderful service

I don't usually do reviews but I was surprised about how helpful and polite the staff were. I would shop there just because of the friendly service.

Great place to shop! Small enough to get to know the family that runs it, yet big enough to find everything you need and more! They always carry the specialty products I'm looking for, plus you can't find better butchers anywhere else.

My favorite grocery - very clean, friendly and helpful staff, and some products that I can't find anywhere else. Plus, it's small enough that I don't have to do a marathon to pick up a few things.

Great place to buy your meats, one of the cheapest places for it that also has good quality. Their boxed foods however are more pricey

Only place that is basically open all holidays up to a certain time. Friendly and caring staff. Parking lot can get very busy due to people coming from different parts of Durham.

Love the people, the store is sooooo clean, a great variety of foods. I highly recommend this store.

Fantastic, mom and pop feel. Meat department is on point with great deals.

We've been going here for years. The staff and manager are great, and we've never had an issue with the food.

Love this store. Staff are very friendly, and went out of their way to help me. Shelves are fully stocked. Produce is nicely laid out. Meat Dept is fresh, clean and fully stocked. Bakery is full of yummy items and special treats.

The website advertised a meat counter and butcher, but it's really just deli meat. The selection in the near fridge is pretty good, but elsewhere in the store it's barely average. The place was clean, and they don't allow reusable bags to prevent the spread of Covid19, but I'm not impressed with the pricing. Probably not going to return any time soon.

Some people will say they are a bit expensive but the quality of their fruits, vegetables and others produce is one of the best in the Town of Whitby.

Solid place to get what you need.
A great variety of fresh produce, baked goods, meat and staples, all year long. And the pop up garden center in the spring is much appreciated.

Excellent selection with a ton of specialty items that are hard to get at other store. Excellent deli and small town customer service is the best in Durham. The floor staff and cashiers are super friendly and they even bag your groceries. Open every.single.day except Christmas Day!

This is my fave grocery store. It's just the right size. Big enough to hold all you need and small enough you aren't there forever.

I love this place! I have been going here ever since covid started. The workers all seem friendly and happy. The shelves are fully stocked. And you feel normal when your in there! It gives you a moment of peace and normalcy in this crazy world.

Foodland always has good prices and decent stock of items. At times I find certain things to be more expensive then I have seen at other local retailers. Other than that their employees are nice, hardworking, and will help you with anything you need. Plus their wraps are good!

The best grocery store in town! They really are doing an incredible job keeping everyone safe, with the sanitization process and constant cleaning! The friendliest staff you could ever ask for, and people that genuinely care about their staff and their business. Amazing selection of specialty food items, especially meats and cheeses and fresh produce! Love you guys! Keep up the great work! ️

I have been a customer of IGA/Foodland for 30 years. Even with the increase of bigger grocery stores I still prefer "my" Foodland over all the others. Fresh and friendly.

Busy today but I like shopping smaller stores. They have what bigger stores don't and I like the variety.

The most homely Foodland I've ever been to. The staff is super helpful. Love the cheese bread, thankful for that baked goods section. They also have flowers, which is nice if you're trying to surprise the wife. Blessed to have these folks in our neighbourhood.

Great store. Their fish, meat and cold meats are very fresh. Good range of cheeses. Freshly baked goods and also good variety. Also have good range of instore cooked meals. Very friendly and helpful staff. Prefer this store to some of the bigger ones. Thoroughly recommend this store.

I enjoy shopping today at foodland, Rachel was my cashier and she is friendly and has amazing customer service even when a rude customer interrupted her as she was serving me. Customer was annoyed at her because you were sold out of butter that was in your flyer. She was still pleasant

I’ve been going there for about 20 years. I love it! The prices are high in comparison to other places, but it’s my go-to place for specialty items, walks with the kids in the summer to get a snack and drink. We go there at least once a week ️

I love this Foodland I'm a big fan everything is very very fresh I can get things there I can't get anywhere else and bakery is amazing their meat is fabulous their manager is also a pretty nice guy I had a problem with stew meat and he was more than happy to help me out with that went above and beyond the cashiers are great it's a super clean store in a pinch I'll go to No Frills and it certainly doesn't compare so I continued to shop down here in Foodland as well as in brecon on my way up to my Cottage I also shot for my Cottage stuff there as well nothing but good things to say

The young girls on cash are always the sweetest and fastest to get you through, not too mention how amazing their hours are!

Excellent quality. Prices are high for myself but I don't live in area. Perfect for the neighborhood tho. Highly recommend

I am not sure why I don't shop there more! It has everything-higher end stuff, everyday stuff, the prepackaged meals actually looked amazing-better selection than I have seen for just everyday average meals. Always looking for options for my elderly parents -most were perfect. Prices were great too. Service was good. I did buy a pretty pack of devilled wggs for my parents-cashier put them in the bag sideways-so I came back in and they were replaced (they looked more like egg salad). Produce all looked great and tons of selection
