Foodland - Peterborough

If you don't want to go to freshco or walmart must visit this place, you can get cheaper items than convenient stores. It is a kind of big convenient store.

The morning of July 03,2023 I purchased top sirloin steak advertised as AAA. This was the toughest steak I had in a very long time.
They must have substituted a much lesser quality without notification.
If you can trust your grocer why deal there especially when you have to pay higher prices than Walmart or Freshco

Good little store, a little more expensive but usually always has what you need. Handy location on Sherbrooke Street in Peterborough.

Somehow I always enter wanting a few items and leave with an overflowing basket! Alwats have good deals on stuff we love. I just hate the buy 2 - buy 3 sales! I just want a good deal on one.

I shop here when I need basics like milk, butter, eggs. Produce isn't always best fresh quality, but there's usually a good deal on prepackaged salads or bag salad mixes. Theres usually a good deal on something in the meat department. The store has overall higher prices compared to some stores in Ptbo, but upside is the deli/bakery section and staff have been friendly everytime I've gone in.

Sale Items could be more visibly marked so that you do not miss them or do not have to look too hard to find them. Very clean store. Courteous staff.

Just a quick stop (or so I thought) - picked up my needs (3 items) but had to wait in an extremely long line to pay for merchandise. People seemed to be shopping for their ling weekend plans. Only 2 of 4 cashiers open.

Very expensive for the same products you can get at freshCo and if you look at the back of some things it says Made for sobeys, so they all get the same stuff lol

Cute, country, general store type feel. Store is super small so no long lines or crowds which is nice. It does make it harder to social distance though as the aisles are narrow and there's limited space for lining up at the checkout. Everything is very overpriced, however bakery items are pretty reasonable and made on-site so baked goods are super fresh. Staff is also friendly. Insanely high prices for plastic and paper bags though! Paper is $0.25 and plastic is $0.35! Compared to $0.05 at other stores. That's major unnecessary price gouging! Needs to be more in line with the other grocery stores.

Good local grocery store. Appropriate pricing and friendly cashiers with plastic partitions.
Downside, grocery carts aren't washed/sprayed and customers might assume that they are cleaned. No directional shopping arrows. Grocery belts where you place to be purchased items also aren't sprayed between customers.
I find this confusing.we shop here when we go on daily walks.otherwise we shop at Metro or Sobey's where we have higher confidence in protocols.

No lineup, fresh produce, meat, canned goods, pastries, etc, wear a mask, friendly staff, clean

Foodland has and is probably the best grocery chain around bakery items and selection is always top notch the store set up is nice not to crowded fruits and veggies are fresh staff always friendly it is just a good grocery store on all fronts

Kinda feels like an unpopular rabba, theres nothing too bad about it. Just not anything special ive had as of yet.

Have mobility issues so it so easy to shop there as there is not a lot of walking to get pretty well everything I want. It might be a small store but carries a lot and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Great store, only recommendation would be for an in and out door and carts inside. Limited with space so understand why. Nice staff who bag groceries and can gain Air Miles here.

Poor selection and somewhat expensive. Had to go to No Frills to complete my shopping list for basic items not at Foodland.

Such a convenient location for us & they have a great hot food section and baked goods section.

The cashier with the red hair is so much fun.she brings the sunshine in with her great service and sense of humor and she always recognizes me.

There is an older lady who works at night - she is AWESOME- if we had more cashiers, like her shopping would be a better experience.

Foodland on Sherbrooke has a fairly decent assortment of produce, dry goods, canned goods, frozen, fresh, etc. They have the best Foodland Bakery and Deli - their chickens are always cooked perfectly. Never had a raw one from them or over cooked one. The staff are mostly quite friendly. Their regular night cashier is a riot. Great lady. Prices are average for a Foodland. A little higher than average in pricing at another grocery store. Watch dates on the canned goods as sometimes the cans are not rotated properly in the store (especially the international foods that may not be as popular with clients). I frequent this store because of their longer hours and selection of things I may need any given day.

Standard grocery store. Customer service is virtually non-existent. Wait times at the checkouts is always a long concern. The fine art of customer service has been lost on this store's staff and management.

It's close to me but very expensive. Seniors on fixed income go there.within walking distance but must be very expensive for them. Girls are friendly manager not so much.

Foodland has a large variety of products for a store of its size. The staff are always friendly and the prices are in line with the other grocery stores.

Friendly staff, clean, nice atmosphere. Prices are a tad high on a few things, but I live right next to it so it's convenient.

A mostly good place, aside from some of the prices. For example, I got a box of 6 bear paws for 4 dollars (excluding tax) when it should have been half that. Otherwise incredible. Friendly employees and very convenient. Not long waiting. Overall pretty good!

Produce doesn't seem to be the best but definitely always on point for the rest. Great customer service always. Could use better stocking through day sometimes

Terrble employees. If u note that they are bad at their job they will chastise u and blame the issue on you. Avoid the snippy brown haired girl at express as she is a horrible person and will lie about being management and hangup if u try to call in on her.

Good selection of food and kitchen products, lots of parking and friendly, helpful staff. The place is always clean and well organized.
