Foodland - Lakefield

Great store. As one might expect, items on sale either out or only a few left. Why does the bagged skim milk run out first? Real friendly staff! I'm sorry the summer is coming to an end and I'll have to deal with the city stores.

Nice community grocery store. They barbecue hamburger and hot dogs every day during the summer months. Good place to grab an inexpensive lunch.

Exactly what you need for a small town grocery store. It's got a huge selection, including some local shirts and merchandise. I was also able to get a personalized and delicious birthday cake there last minute! Staff are always friendly and helpful!

Most expensive store in the Kawarthas. Was there today. I have to say always friendly however still the most expensive place to shop. Only pick up odds and sods as we say.

Mature cashier was unfriendly and rude after I said "Hello. " No greeting, just a stare then barked out a command. Then I had to return to the store to get an overcharge adjusted.

This grocery store gouges locals! They raise their prices every two weeks. The staff is apologetic as they see it too. Really disappointing to see the owners take advantage of the seniors and families that live here

Although its a smaller facility, they have good selection of fruits, vegetables and other food supplies. Everything I needed was there. Can't beat that.

We went grocery shopping this morning (Monday October 3) around 7: 15 and were very disturbed to find that a white haired gentleman stocking the produce section was not wearing his mask properly, talking with both nose and mouth uncovered. We are in the middle of a pandemic and this conduct is both unbecoming and inappropriate. Otherwise the staff and store are superb. One would expect that the experienced grocery staff might set a better example for the younger ones. We felt very uncomfortable with the lack of proper Covid safety measures being followed in a Sobie's store.

The prices at this store are astronomical in comparison to others. Even sobeys has more reasonable (which is generally higher than others).
For the folks on reviews that said prices are good I would suggest you do some comparisons. A few items the other day.raspberry’s were 8.99 (small package). Coffee which is 12.99 at sobeys (not on sale) was 16.99 at this food land. One or a few dollars on every item adds up fast on you bill. I won’t shop there ever again after doing some comparisons. Price gouging at its finest

We only picked up a few veggies. Didn't get a chance to look at the whole store. Only spoke with 2 staff and they were great. Young lady greeted us upon entering. Gentleman in produce was very knowledgeable and friendly. Same young lady seemed to go out of her way to say goodbye when we left. I shop alot in the GTA where it is not common to experience that kind of customer service. I think we might have experienced what city folk call country friendliness. I will go out of my way to shop at that store again when I'm in cottage country.

Continously have recieved quality service, fine selection of fresh, local produce and easy access from major highways (as well as from Stoney Lk marina.)

Always have ripe bananas and large size eggs. And local produce too! Being a small town store, prices are a bit higher than city stores - but that is expected! Staff are friendly and helpful, and a good selection of gluten free items as well!

I always get awful customer service at this location. Employees are never friendly. Also pricing seems to be expensive which is too bad since it is convenient to most people who live near Lakefield to get groceries there.

Products are fresh and there's a lot of variety but it's a bit pricey which would be expected in a small town

I had difficult time finding things, I parked too far away, while this covid thing is on one door is not in use, good staff good products.

It's a nice place the prices are always wrong and you have to check your bill every time you leave but other than that it's a pretty good place

Not covid friendly. These retail and restaurants need to do temp checks PERIOD. Too many customers in stores at one time and you wonder why Covid remains.

Terrible place to shop highway robbery paid 10 bucks for pepper club house paid 3.00 for a half rotten head of lettuce it was the best my husband could find at 7pm tonite I've never seen prices like this before in my life for poor quality produce. I have come and gone from this store when we really are in a crunch and have forgotten to get an item in ptbo and we pay the price as if its the variety corner store further up the road. Everything is expensive from bread to milk to coffee creamer these people really know how to gouge their local residents, seniors and visiting seasonal cottage/trailer goers.

It was amazing. I really wanted to make a pizza, and these guys had ALL the ingredients for me to make one. Absolutely stunning job Foodland, hope everyone and their families is well I very much appreciate this!

I was soo pleasantly surprised at the amazing supply of different products at this small town grocery store!

If you're looking for ripe bananas, they're in the cereal aisle. And don't forget to check out the sales rack in the produce section.
Lakefield wouldn't be the same without this store.

Its and ok store, they rip off the locals price wise in the winter.and if you have a medical problem and can't wear a mask or use the hand sanitizer you will be publicly shamed. So much for a medical reason. I will doing my shopping in Bridgenorth at Valuemart where they know how to treat their customers with respect. You should be ashamed, but I suspect you are to ignorant to feel ashamed.

In fact we did not visit inside the store. But we stopped for a fresh hot sausage and XL Dog on buns. Yes, the BBQ outside is operational and you can get a smile, a bit to eat for a value price. Some seating available across the street in the park. I shouldn't need to say this BUT, PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF! I couldn't believe napkins dropped about. They aren't that heavy people, walk the ten steps and place in the waste buckets near-by. Thanks to the staff, a quick wonderful lunch.

Great place to shop if you love rotten meat, liquid heads of lettuce and being ripped off. 1 star cause zero isn't an option

Had someone from my house pop over to our village high priced Foodland for flowers last pm.i was to give them to Mom today. They are DEAD & wilted. Because of corona & no receipt no refund or replacement. "Happy" Mothers day. FYI taking buisness elsewhere!

Good produce and baked goods, descent selection of products for it's size. Great hours, very convenient.

Have shopped in this store for many years when we moved to the Lakefield? 38years ago Just a great staff!

Cashiers are lazy and refuse to bag groceries. I doubt they would come to my work and do my job, but they expect you to do theirs. Metro and Sobeys are a better choice if you want actual service.

Sometimes things doesn't seem as fresh as it should be but I understand this is also located in Lakefield and it is 24/7 open.

For a Foodland, I love this store. I enjoy the bakery and the friendly staff. They have great barbeques during the summers, as well as on nice days in spring and fall.
I have never had anything to complain about with the quality of anything they sell.
The parking lot is big and always busy. Sometimes it's hard to find a spot right away but one always opens up.
The entrance is level to the ground and the doors are automated.

Good place to shop. Has a good selection of produce including organic. A nice bakery and deli as well.
